4.5 stars! I listened to the audio version of this book and I loved it. This book was exciting, fast-paced, and vibrantly narrated! Meghan March really knows how to write a story that pulls you in from the very beginning. While I love discovering new authors and findings new worlds, there is nothing to me like the trusted ones.
I think this was my favorite storyline of all of the interconnected characters Meghan March has written about. All of these quick, romantic and mindless (a good thing!) have been a nice summer break from the heavier topics I have been reading about recently.
Just a typical smutty romance, fun and thank god for a strong female lead. Because those 5 foot tall child women who can't talk without sounding like they were dropped down the stairs as a kid, too stupid to function kind of dum, are horrifying. But this girl is the opposite, liked the story. It's a fun read. Have not read something like this in a loooonngg time, but to be honest, this book kinda rocked. Byeee
Another super fast series from Meghan March. Spicy level is up there(!!). I like that other characters from her other series are referenced… it makes me want to keep reading/listening to learn more about them. I’m a new Meghan March fan!
I really enjoyed Boone and Ripley's story, especially after meeting him in the previous books. The story and mystery element kept me on the edge of my seat - I finished the duet in a day!
Their chemistry is off the charts... though my one big gripe is that the first time they hook up, Ripley is incredibly drunk and Boone is sober. Otherwise, I really enjoyed watching their relationship blossom while facing all the challenges life throws at them - and boy is it a doozy!
Definitely check out the Meghan March reading order. This book can be read as a standalone, but it's so much better having the rest of the series so you know all the characters that make cameos. Plus you won't regret reading the "Beneath" series that takes place in New Orleans.
Boone Thrasher is a Country Music legend who's life is usually publicly splayed out for everyone to see, even in times when he wishes it wasn't. Riley Fischer just wants to lay low without her family's past weighing her down and to make enough money to pay the bills for her dad's bar. Then their paths cross and starts a chain of events that changes both their lives forever, but the publicity may be enough to drive them apart. Thos duet has suspense, angst, catty women, ruthless men, sweet affection, and sexy bedroom scenes that didn't always make it to the bedroom. The pair of narrators - Elena Wolfe and Sebastian York - always do a fantastic job in any audiobook they're cast together. And this was no different.
It’s a good story. I liked Boone so very much and Ripley is a feisty heroine which is always fun. The bird also kinda steals the show, I loved it. I don’t think that it had to be a duet, though. The narration is flawless (come on, you can’t go wrong with Sebastian and Andi), but I honestly don’t think I would use a credit had I known more about it. As I said, it’s a good story, it kept me entertained but there was nothing too special about it other than Boone being a fine alpha which by all means pleased the hell out of me! 3,5 stars!
I listened to the audiobook. I freaking loved it. The narrators are amazing. The story was fantastic! The FMC is tough, stubborn, independent, and wants nothing to do with famous people. The MMC is a country music super star. They butt heads. But the chemistry is off the charts. Boone Thrasher is what dreams are made of. And I love him and Ripley together. And the spice is *chef’s kiss!
