No one else sees the monsters that I do. And now three of them want to marry me.
Monster-slaying doesn’t pay the bills. No one knows I protect them from the things that go bump in the night. So after dark, I hunt. During the day, I drag myself through work to earn a living.
Everything was fine, other than the beasts and demons, until they showed up. Three sexy men who say they are Fae Lords, Guardians of the new Queen… me. That I’m their fated mate.
Yeah, I didn’t believe all that bullshit either.
But I can’t deny that the attraction between us is tangible, irresistible. Despite my skepticism, my desire for each of them is growing.
Not everyone is pleased to have a half-blood queen in the Fae Court, though.
And I’m beginning to realize not all monsters can be seen at face value.
There are many spoilers ahead! I really enjoyed the beginning of this book but was slightly disappointed with the rest of it. I thought I would really love the heroine, but I was wrong. She absolutely hates all the fae and claims she did a bunch of research, and none of that research showed that there were good fae?? And she finds out she killed innocents in her hunting sprees and she basically just shrugs it off after a moment. This could be a plot point in the next book, but really? Another thing that irked me was her relationship with the men. She absolutely hates them. So much so that she attacks them on multiple occasions. But she’s also super attracted to them so she sleeps with them. She still kind of hates them afterwards. But, as soon as they’re in danger she loves them? Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy ready insta-love stories and enemies-to-lovers stories, but this was a weird mix of the two where none of them had any redeeming qualities other than being good in bed. Also, the men are all about finding Simeon. They talk about how they need to go find him a few times. Instead they have dinner and sleep with the fmc. They literally never go to look for him. Sure he ends up showing up with the antagonist anyways, but still. They talk about how much they love their cousin because he’s the nicer of all of them and they never go look. My final main issue with this book was how her ‘mom’ was handled. You find out that her ‘mom’, the one killed in the park by a bunch of fae, was actually an unseelie imposter who had grown to love her. Almost as soon as she finds out that it wasn’t her real mom, she kind of forgets about her and asks about her real parents. She just gives up on the fact that this woman raised her for 11 years before being brutally murdered. I still gave this book 3.5 stars because I enjoyed the writing style of this author.

This was my first book by Rebecca Goodwin and I am very impressed. The story was well written and developed. The characters are stunningly beautiful. The only issue I had is near the end the story seems to be just a little rushed. But, it is still beautifully done. I really enjoyed Avery and her strength. She has that feisty attitude that plays well throughout the story. The descriptions are vivid enough that add to the story where it allows me to picture the scenes so much easier. The guys are strong and protective of the ones they love. It is unique in the storyline and I throughly enjoy when an author is creative in their development. The story does end where there is another book in the series and I am excited to see what is going to happen next. This definitely a must read and it doesn’t disappoint.
I thought the story was funny and entertaining. It is about Avery a Fae hunter who ends up being kidnapped by Fae and finding out what she thought about her past and future were wrong. It is a hot steamy read with hot Fae men who Avery ends up falling for. The story was a light steamy read with just enough info to keep me reading to find out what might happen next and what might be revealed next. Fun story to read and makes me want to read the next book.
It was fast paced and full of action, but that’s about all I can say for it. I wasn’t enthused with any of the characters, the basic plot has been done a bajillion times so I kept getting a feeling that I’d already read parts of this.
Just not my cup of tea. Won’t be picking up any more in the series.
Well this book does have a lot of twists and turns but i did really enjoy it i wished it had all her men together in the sexy scenes so i wished it had that it also ended in a cliff hanger!!!
