This series I really enjoyed reading this year and I realized I had not read the Novells that was out. I enjoyed getting back into the world and I hope there is a new book coming out soon. This case is referenced in several of the books so I am glad that I now know more about it.
Nice little story, better read after the first book, even if the events take place prior to it, because is too short and two-dimensional to be an introduction.
Short story prequel to Murder at Archly Manor which I read a month or so ago. I got it by signing up for the author's newsletter.
It's a pretty simple mystery, really: a guest's sapphire earrings go missing. But Olive is observant and intuitive and gets to the bottom of it when everyone else is happy to blame the staff. And accordingly saves the family some unwanted publicity by keeping the police out of the picture. So it's a short read that serves as a nice palate cleanser between longer or deeper books.
I truly appreciated this short but delightful little cozey mystery filled with charm and finesse only a genuine lady is able to carry on with. The caracters are vibrant and challenged with a mystery so crafty and brazen. A great little little read while waiting for an appointment, traveling on the city transport or like me just before bed to help with sweet dreams. So now i'ts your turn to aquier a copy and start enjoying the "Lady Sophia's Sapphires "as I have. 🙄 Kat
This short story in Sara Rosett's High Society Lady Detective series takes place early in Olive's career. The plot involves missing sapphire earrings. Olive quickly discovers what's happened (it's not what you might think). I enjoyed this story but it was much too short. Still, recommended - as is the entire series. I flew through the remaining books in the series (reading this short story last) and loved them! I hope there will be more adventures for Olive and Jasper.
Olivia Belgrave heads to Parkview Manor for dinner at her cousins. While there, one of the guests has a pair of earrings disappear. It's up to Olivia to solve the case or have the police show up and ruin the dinner.
This is a fun short story that was a free download and is actually a prequel to the series.
The start of the High Society Lady Detective Olive’s career. She kind of stumbles into it as she’s attending a dinner party at her cousins home. It’s a quick short story that is a pleasure to read. Very enjoyable.
I enjoyed this very short little introduction to the High Society Lady Detective series. Sets up the series very nicely. Will be reading more of these.
