Ali - Life of Ali Bacher: The Life of Ali Bacher
Ali Bacher has commanded a place at the coalface of sport in South Africa during its most turbulent and historic period. His exceptional contribution is reflected in this biography with pace and passion, an important chronicle of momentous events in the contemporary history of the new South Africa. Bacher's story is essentially about the roles he played in cricket, but this new, updated edition reveals his unexpected decision to step into the minefield of South African rugby at the height of the bitter controversy that raged in its corridors of power. It contains several previously unpublished disclosures.

Interesting biography of the man who was Mr South African cricket for so many years. A touch hagiographic in places, but a great social record of a time of great change in South Africa.

In the year 2000 I was published in a national magazine defending the late Hansie Cronje against the evil Dr Ali Bacher. My first national exposure...
In reading this insigthfull biography of Dr Ali Bacher a whole new world opened up to me. Dr Bacher was not the evil one that everyone set out to portray him in 2000. He actually has just become my rollmodel that I will try to copy come the year 2013.
A great read, great photos, this guy has rubbed shoulders with alot of famous people.
This book has definitely changed my mindset.
