Forever Yours

Rate this book
Her crush is back. Too bad he's off-limits.

Alyssa thinks she has everything figured out. Varsity cheerleading. Straight A's. Even a date to the upcoming formal. But when Jace Carmichael, the boy she secretly kissed last summer, moves back to town, her life doesn't seem so perfect anymore.

Jace is back in Ridgewater and confident he's over Alyssa. After all, she's moving on with his best friend and doesn't seem to remember their kiss from last summer--the one he hasn't been able to forget. But if she's happy, he's happy.

Or so he tells himself.

But when his best friend offers Jace a chance to win her back without ruining their friendship, it's an offer he can't resist. One week to charm Alyssa and if he succeeds, his best friend will step aside. The bet is dumb, but Jace is desperate for a chance at Alyssa's heart.

But is taking a chance on love really worth the risk?

Straight up, I didn't like Alyssa. Her character developement went a little too far. I was invested in Jace but not Alyssa. I wanted him to choose someone else cause she was so stupid and frustrating and he only allowed himself more heartache. Anyway, having said that I'm glad I didn't stop reading like I was tempted to. It ended well but she better make it up tenfold to him.

I loved this! Such a perfect end to the Ridgewater Series. This book is parallel to the previous book, his twin’s story and so it was sooo interesting to see the other side of the story.

There was so many twists and turns, I just wanted to know what happened! I couldn’t put this down. Highly recommend for a sweet YA romance!

While I always enjoy Judy Corry's books, I especially enjoyed Forever Yours because it's set at the exact same time as My Mistletoe Mix-Up. The latter book is Raven and Logan's story, and Forever Yours is Raven's best friend Alyssa's and Logan's twin Jace's story. My Mistletoe Mix-Up was memorable enough that I recognized many of the situations as they occurred in Forever Yours, and I enjoyed seeing them from a different perspective. (Also, I loathed Jace in My Mistletoe Mix-Up, so kudos to Corry for turning him into someone so likeable in this book!)

Sometimes, the way both Alyssa and Jace handled situations had me rolling my eyes, and the book does contain some cheating, sort of (which I always loathe), so I didn't love love the book. But I really, really liked it. The chemistry between Alyssa and Jace was great, and I was really pulling for them as a couple.

Identical Twins

Jace and Logan are identical twins. When they dress the same and copy each other’s mannerisms nobody can tell them apart. No one but Alyssa, that is. She always knows Jace because of his kind eyes.

Since the twins moved away and no one thought they would ever see them again, Alyssa started dating Trey. Jace has been in love with Alyssa since forever but now that she’s dating his best friend there’s no way he can make his feelings known. Alyssa begs Jace not to tell Trey about the kiss she and Jace shared before he moved away, their first kiss. But neither of them can forget it...

-‘Alyssa was one of the coolest and kind-hearted girls I knew. And I knew if I was lucky enough to date her, I certainly wouldn’t take it for granted. So if I was going to be standing aside and watching Trey date her from the sidelines, he better deserve it.’-

This is a sweet, clean romance, aimed at a teen audience.

Quick Summary: Young love and misunderstandings

My Review: Forever Yours by Judy Corry is book #6 in the Ridgewater High series.

About the Book: In the past, Alyssa and Jace shared a secret kiss. Before they could explore where things could go between them, he and his family moved from the area. Now, he was back. He had hoped to pick up where they left off, but he returned only to find that the girl he wanted to be his is now with his best friend. Will they ever get their chance at being together?

My Final Say: All of the Ridgewater High books are so good. They each approach YA/NA relationships from a unique perspective. This installment presented a love triangle that was messy yet civil. The third party was a chameleon. It was hard to believe that the leads could be friends with someone so underhanded. While I didn't pick up on the forever love vibes from this young couple, I did get their connection. It was new and unexplored, which is probably why it was so appealing to each of them. At the end of the day, it was a sweet story.

Jace moved back and finds out his crush is dating his best friend. I had just finished “When we began” so hearing the mention of Liam & Cassie dating made my heart so happy. I listened to this one and I loved that there was a male narrator and a female narrator. I missed that when I listened to “When we began”. When this one started I was a little bored and was worried it wouldn’t hold my interest. Then a bet was made and from that point on I was invested. I’m not so sure I would have liked how that bet was made if I were Alyssa. I also didn’t like how much Alyssa liked him but kept things going with her boyfriend. This book has the cheating trope so know that going in. I think this couple is my least favorite of the series. They are suppose to be in high school but it doesn’t read that way. I kept thinking they were college age other than the whole juvenile bet that was made. I’m sure college kids do stuff like that too 🤣 I’m so sad I didn’t like this one but it happens. Can’t love them all.

“But you know Ridgewater is. Lots of relationships start that you never expected to happen.”

“We’re all works in progress.” I shrugged. “But yes, I think everyone is in for a pleasant surprise when it comes to my brother.”
“Good to hear.” She smiled and it was the first real smile she’d given me this morning. “Just tell me that not everything changed about the Carmichael twins while they were away.”
“No, not everything changed.”
Meaning, I was still very much in danger of falling head over heels for Alyssa Turner like I’d been the last time I’d seen her.

It had always been Jace. He’d always been the one I wanted.

This book was really cute. I didn’t think it was as good as the other books in the series but I still really enjoyed it. 3.75 stars.

“Even when we were thousands of miles apart, my heart knew deep down that it would always and forever be yours.” -Jace <3
THIS MANNNNNN! I’m so glad Alyssa forgave him. I hate Trey. When the accident was first mentioned (when Jase and Alyssa were in their “date”) I was having a party thinking he was dead. But Nope! I rlly wish Alyssa would have slapped him. I can’t decide if I like Jace or Logan more! They’re both so Awesome! (Not more awesome than Carter tho, and I was definitely disappointed Ava wasn’t mentioned or Asher). I loved this and the whole series!

The story runs parallel with My Mistletoe Mix-Up, which I thought was pretty cool. It's always interesting to see the different sides of a story. The book is written in alternating chapters of Jace's and Alyssa's POV. I liked Jace's side better.

Summary:
Alyssa Turner has finally gotten over Jace, the boy she kissed last summer, has been dating his best friend for a year, and is doing well in school. But all that flies out the window when Jace moves back to town. Suddenly, things aren't so simple anymore. Trey's apparent cheating has left her confused, and she still has feelings for Jace. But is she ready for a relationship with him?
Jace Carmichael is back in Ridgewater after 18 months away. He still remembers that last kiss before he left and all he's been thinking about since coming back is Alyssa. However, any hope of a relationship with her is dashed when he finds out that she's now dating his best friend. He wants what's best for Alyssa, so he mainly stays out of the way. But when he catches Trey cheating on Alyssa, they make a bet and he's given the chance to win her back. One drawback: he only has a week to make her fall for him or else he'll face total humiliation (a consequence of the bet). But this is the only chance he has, and he's willing to take the risk if it means the possibility of being with Alyssa again.

Forever Yours was a good ending for the series. I admit, I got tired after 4 books of sweet romance, and after 5, I was kind of sick. So I took a break and read another series (espionage, yes!), and after that I came back to finish this series. I really enjoyed this story. I think it was structured better than the last. I really love how the book shows more of the relationship between Jace and Logan. I like how they care for each other and aren't really enemies competing all the time (like how it was suggested in My Mistletoe Mix-Up).
As always, there were so many times I just rolled my eyes and shook my head, but it was a nice story nonetheless. I really liked Jace's character, but there were times when I got so frustrated with him. I got frustrated with Alyssa a lot too. Overall, this series was really good, and I'd recommend it to any YA romance reader.

One thing I would like to know is if there really are this many romances in high school, and successful ones at that. I've been homeschooled all my life and don't really know anything about this stuff. Seriously, all these relationships happened in, like, the period of one year, right? And all of it happened to people who are remotely connected or related in some way or another too! It kind of seems unrealistic.
Either way, though, I really enjoyed this series. Each book can stand on its own yet is still part of a series. How awesome is that? It's a great read when you need a break.

Another thing to point out: Ashlyn's and Luke's ubiquity. Seriously, Ashlyn and Luke seem to be everywhere. They pop up in almost every book!

Pretty good read...

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2019...

*** There are spoilers here and there****

I had to go down memory land to figure out where Jace and Logan came from I don’t know why I thought they were from a Christmas book. But I did realize that Logan was from the book with Raven... because they did that Christmas event together and she didn’t like him like that she was more into Jace rather than Logan.... when it came to Olivia I’m like ahhh more details into what happened with Jace point of view. Rather than Raven and Logan point of view because Raven did thought it was Logan for a chance. But finding out that Jace had lipstick on his lips when he went to talk to Alyssa was crazy...

I mean, I wanted her to forgive him because he did like her, but how could he think that she would’ve forgiven him when he had Olivia lipstick on his lips. But it’s a good thing that her best friend Raven help Jace get Alyssa back with also the help of his twin brother and they doing the switch-a-roo thing again. But they did have her for a minute or two because she clearly thought she was talking and dancing with Logan until she figured out that it was Jace.

Not only that it’s a good thing that she forgave Jace because he clearly wasn’t like Trey who cheated on Alyssa and didn’t even care about her feelings only cared about winning a bet.. plus I knew he probably remembered a lot of things especially when he was talking to Alyssa than Jace... I’m like hmm this boy more likely remembered everything that happened. Plus I thought it was karma that goes him, but clearly, he didn’t learn anything after the accident because he was clearly the same person he always been especially when he had all those ex-girlfriends after Kaela...

Btw: I want a story with their friend Rachel and maybe the guy Ky Miller because that’ll be an interesting story because she clearly hates the guy...

I can't imagine how hard being an identical twin might by, but the opening scene in this story makes it seems fun at times. Jace and Logan moved away 18 months ago and are now back, partway through their Junior year of high school. Jace's long-time crush is now taken, but his best friend, who knows who will end up with her at the end of a bet.

I loved loyal Alyssa and her winsome personality. She's in for a load of trouble with this love triangle of sorts, and I definitely knew my favorite of her two choices.

This is the type of story that throws me right back into the midst of my angsty teenage years (although I never had a dilemma like this) and brings back the young love feels to my heart. The sizzling swoon is so much fun and the characters are great--even the ones I loved to hate. It looks like I need to catch up on some of these Ridgewater High stories and I'm not mad about it at all.

Content: mild+ romance (kissing, talk of going further, some innuendo); underage drinking/partying

I first met Jace and Alyssa in My Mistletoe Mix-Up and didn't really care for him but liked her - loved Logan and Raven's story. The author did a great job of changing my opinion of Jace and getting to see his side. A teen romance with all of the usual angst and hea or at least happy for now - they are teenagers.

3ish stars. The second half of the book was better than the first. I guess I really didn’t care that much about Jace or Alyssa. They both acted really stupid and it hard to root for them at times, but there was a strong final act. Was excited to see Raven and Logan though!! I wonder if it’ll be Rachel’s story next with that singer guy?!

While I feel it's kind of unfair to leave a review since I didn't finish the book (I made it 72%), I wanted to comment on the main thing that turned me off from it, which is a big thing that nobody else has mentioned.

I really, really didn't like Jace. Some reviewers said they hated Alyssa or didn't like Jace in A Mistletoe Mix-up, but that this book redeemed him in their eyes. I just don't see how.

I tried to be understanding of some of Jace's bad decisions since the characters are still in high school, but I couldn't get past a few things:

First, this is a spoiler, but there is cheating in this book. Whether Alyssa planned to break up with her BF or not, they were still together at the time of Jace and Alyssa's kissing scenes. That grated on me since the targeted bad quality of Trey's was cheating. Jace was portrayed as such a "good guy" but I would think he would go about things in a different way if he was so great and upstanding.

Secondly, and the big kicker, the worst part about Jace, was the pressure he put on Alyssa when she was struggling with a moral concept. She was clearly trying to get him to stop pushing at one point (after swimming) because she knew she couldn't resist him, and she didn't want to cheat on Trey. She even begged Jace to slow down and give her a day to think about what to do and allow Trey the chance to explain. What does Jace do? He pushes even harder. I get he's trying to win Alyssa over, but I was disgusted at how he went about it. It didn't feel any different than Trey pushing Alyssa to stay the night at his house. Actually, it did, because Jace pushed harder, and for Alyssa, she was making the choice to avoid Jace at the time so she could remain faithful to her boyfriend until she could hear him out. In my mind, it felt equal to someone disregarding a lack of consent and plowing through anyway. Because it was, she said no and he continued anyway. Maybe not with sex, but same concept.

I was excited to read Jace’s story after reading Logan’s story. I got half way through and got busy and couldn’t finish for half a week or so. And I was kind of stuck were Alyssa is trying to keep being Trey’s girlfriend despite her feelings for Jace and Jace’s feelings for Alyssa. And I was frustrated because things seemed to good to be true with Trey’s lack of memory over his cheating the previous weekend. That has to be a hard time to dump a guy but at the same time just because he was in an accident while making poor choices doesn’t mean the girl should stay with the guy. Anyway, a happily ever after was achieved. And since Trey was a creep it made it easy not to feel bad for the guy but would have we all felt different if Trey had changed his ways or if his cheating was a one weekend thing? Sometimes had choices have to be made and not always is there a happy ending.
I am excited to realize that the sweet water high books have some common characters to this series. The boy next door features Jace’s cousin Lauren and has Olivia as the girlfriend of Lauren’s neighbor. Olivia is Logan’s ex. I don’t know if this book takes place before or after the Carmichael twins leave the area.

This book was another good high school romance book. The previous book, My Mistletoe Mix-up, involved Logan and Raven, and happened simultaneously to this book, which involved Jace (Logan's twin) and Alyssa (Raven's best friend). The gaps that were happening in My Mistletoe Mix-up are answered in this book. Reading them back to back made them more interesting.

Logan and Jace are twins who just moved back after to Ridgewater after 18 months. Jace has always had feelings for Alyssa. Logan was the bad-boyish twin, while Jace followed the rules. His feelings for Alyssa had to remain under wraps because Alyssa was dating Jace's best friend, Trey. Until Trey and Jace made a bet that Jace could get Alyssa to break up with Trey and become Jaces boyfriend.

This was a great read. I read it in one sitting. I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Judy Corry writes clean, yet interesting stories about first loves & high school romance.

... I read this mainly to get more Raven and Logan, haha.

In all seriousness though, while I rooted for Jace and Alyssa, I couldn't help but get frustrated at times. If Jace had just left when he knew Trey was cheating and told Alyssa, they would have been together and none of this would've happened. Understanding that, it can make it difficult to enjoy the story.

One of my other nitpicks was Trey. All we heard was Alyssa & Jace saying that he used to be a standup guy but we didn't hear any reasons or anecdotes as to why. Even Kindergarten Trey seemed annoying, "you shouldn't hang around with girls, they have cooties" - not quite the saviour of Jace that I was expecting.

However, it did fulfil my hopes of getting more additions from Logan and Raven & it was fun getting to see why Jace was acting the way he was in My Mistletoe Kiss. If you enjoyed that book, I'd suggest reading this one just to get the full story of what happened in these timeframes as, despite being standalones, I find that they make a nice duology.

This one was cute. Even though you knew it was going to blow up in Jace's face but still hoped for a happy ending. I don't like that she had a boyfriend because I was afraid that she would cheat. But at least her boyfriend is a tool so if she did, well....
I do have to say I know that this is a clean book but I still expected Alyssa to go off a little more on Trey throw a few curse words around. I mean if it were me and I try not to swear I would be like... What the Hell? You're an Asshole! Or you're a Bastard! Or a good, you're such a douche!!! Just sayin. I wanted to feel her true anger.

Cute story of Jace and Alyssa!!!

First Kiss...then moved away...only to return with her dating his previous best friend.

I’m such a sucker for Dual POVs!!! I did like that this was during the same time as Raven’s and Logan’s story so we got to see a little bit of Logan’s thoughts too which we missed in their book since it was only written in Raven’s POV.

Definitely some Swoon worthy moments!!!

5/10. unfortunately this was my least favorite in the series so far. while it was cute, it was quite heavy on the cheating trope. which i did not love. because of this, i never really got the chance to feel those butterflies during moments that were meant to be cute or sentimental. additionally, it felt almost too similar to the novella on logan and raven. i understand the purpose for it, but it felt too repetitive for me. but i still read it in one day, so there is that.

I love this book it was a simple read something you can get through really fast and enjoy. These books are good after reading tougher read, and then just reading, something simple and easy and light. It’s something you need every once in a while and it’s really enjoyable that’s reason it’s a book always get five stars for stars to four stars to I’m not a huge critic of books which I don’t think it’s necessary. If it’s enjoyable and you can remember it deserves a 4 or 5 stars in my opinion.

It had been a while since I read the last part of this series, so while the names felt familiar, I was a little confused at first.

Also, the line “It is when you’re dating the girl I want”? Yeah… that got me. 🥵🥵

That said, I could smell the third-act breakup from a mile away, and it threw me off a bit.

Still, I sped through this book and really enjoyed diving into something soft again. Overall, it’s a nice story!

I really, really loved that one! Have is a great character, Alyssa was annoying at times but still a pretty good female character. I liked the plot, I loved how it all turned out! Still really love the author’s style. I also like that these books are not super long but the things happening don’t seem to go super fast for no reason!

Mehhhh. Idk why I couldn’t get into this one as much?? We’re following Noah’s twin Jace and Ravens best friend Alyssa.

We have a bet going on. Very She’s All That.

I think my main issue was it was so over lapping with Mistletoe Mix Up and I didn’t want to read the same situations again after just reading it lol.

It was good. It ends happy but it’s bumpy for a bit.

Trey can go hang out with Kelsie. Bc I can’t stand either one of them. 😂😂

Another great book from this serie that I just discovered (I've read book 5 and 6 so far but none of the others lol). This one was also sweet and cute. I read it in one day and it was exactly the kind of light book that I was looking for.
