When did I truly fall in love with Logan? It all began with a banana costume and a princess dress. And I wore the banana suit!
Escape into the hilarious, feel-good rom-com that will leave you smiling until the very end.

Sweet. Funny. Heartfelt.
Mia never felt the need to speak up for herself. Not with three protective sisters, an assertive boyfriend, and a bestie who has no problem stealing the attention for herself. With a nervous bladder (which strikes at the worst possible times) and a terrible fear of public speaking, Mia is comfortable with the way things are.
That is, until she comes home to find her things packed by the door and faces the news that her boyfriend and best friend have fallen in love.
Now homeless and anything but comfortable, Mia’s sisters come to the rescue (as usual) by helping her land the perfect apartment—but a colossal mishap lands gorgeous bad boy Logan Miller on her doorstep with a key and a lease contract of his own.
In exchange for a free month's stay, Logan agrees to help Mia find the voice and confidence she now desperately craves. The goal? To finally stand up for herself and give her exes what they deserve.
It’s not revenge. It’s Karma.
Mia's one rule: No matter how charming, funny, and sexy Logan is, she cannot fall in love with him.
Logan's one rule: No matter how adorable, sweet, and sexy she is, Mia is off limits.
Are some rules made to be broken, or will Logan turn out to be exactly what everyone warns her he is—a player who will only break her heart in the end?
THE KARMA BOOK CLUB is the endearing, yet hilarious second installment in the Club Series. A page-turning New Adult Romantic Comedy full of lol moments, lovable characters, and redemption at its finest. Told in dual points of view.
Perfect for fans of Becky Monson, R.S. Grey, and rom-coms that leave you with an overall happy feeling.
1. Surround yourself with some incredible, kick-ass women you call friends. 2. Don’t worry about failure or mistakes. It’s how you respond to them that makes all the difference. 3. An appletini is never complete without two cherries.
More than Emma and Alex, I LOVED Logan and Mia. I totally want Crystal to have a book. She is crazy! I love that this wasn’t a typical redemption book. He truly wanted to help Mia but really struggled moving past his wrong doings. And Mia coming out of her shell. Phenomenal. I laughed a lot with this one. Well done Kayley.
I enjoyed this story, it made me smile, but not laugh out loud. The sisters dominance made me cringe a bit, but Logan stole my heart. Mia needed Logan for her to be the person she should be. This is a first Kayley Wood story for me and I look forward to more
This was incredible. Now I really didn't expect to like this book as he was the villain in the last story. I told the author that and she told me, while she expected that, readers learned that Logan had a lot more to him. (I was actually confused the first time I read the blurb because I thought he would get his happily ever after in the first book in the series.)
On to the first aspect of the book which I'm going to review: characters. Logan and Mia are exceptional. (I read this whole book in pretty much one sitting because the extreme weather caused a power outage. I'm sitting in front of a fireplace with a dog currently.) I really didn't expect to like Logan but there is so much more to him. He grows into a great person. What he did, while immoral, did have background and one that made sense. He was an amazing character which the author completely changed my views on, from one book to the other. Mia was insanely good. While at the first page she seems a bit of a pushover, the second page, (not literally), changed my views on her. I loved her entire personality! Just like Logan, Mia had a complete shift in mentality has the story went on. I even enjoyed the idiots in the story. Kat and Doug were horrible and I hated them but that just means that they were well written.
The second aspect I'll be covering is the story. It was perfect to just start off. The way the characters met and interacted with one another was wonderfully written. I loved each and every one of the events and scenes in this novel from princess dresses to revenge. I loved how the past novel was closely tied in with this one. (Side note: It makes a whole lot of sense if you read the series in order, especially the first book before the second.) I don't know how to explain it but in gist format, this book felt perfect in terms of story.
Lastly, the execution. I'm just going to be talking about the writing style in general. This story was incredibly written. The events transitioned well and every section seemed to be necessary. I loved the humour, encouragement and inspiration this novel carries. Everything, I believe, is interpreted just as the author wanted. This author is a jack of many trades and I can't wait to see what comes next.
Now it's time for a bit of background. This story follows Logan and Mia if you haven't caught on yet. Mia has just been dumped by her boyfriend after learning that her best friend seduced him while she was staying with them. Mia has been kicked out her apartment and didn't take any of the things that she paid for because she doesn't want to make a scene. Logan needs a house after being a tabloid rat after being a horrible person to a good friend. He's been jumping couches for the last couple of months and just wants a place of his own. Benny, his friend, finds him a sweet place. On the other hand, Mia also needs a place. Her sister's friend, Vivian, who is also Benny's sister, gives the keys to her. Now there is a case of accidental roommates.
I received a review copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The last six years have been a stressful ride. My primary way to unwind and turn off my brain at night has been to read light-hearted romance or silly comedy. That said, I cannot stand something that’s poorly written. Bad grammar will cause me to delete a download in seconds. I need characters I like and a story in which I can get invested. Enter Mia and Logan. Can I say been there, done that? Not in a literary sense, in real life. Their stories remind me of people I knew (and know), from the nervous bladder to planning revenge you’ll never take. I loved the red couch! So glad that played out the way it did.
3.5, with the extra 1/2 star for addressing bullying and the great Eleanor Roosevelt quotes.
It took me a some time to get into the story. There were times I wondered if I wanted to continue. I hung in there, and was well-satisfied. I even got a litte teary at the end. (Although, I cry a commercials, so that may not be something by which to judge.)
I thoroughly enjoyed most of this book. The characters are very likable, and they found themselves in some pretty amusing circumstances. In spite of all their misunderstandings, which I could see coming from a mile away, they did eventually reach their happily ever after ending.
BUT... I wasn't blown away by the ending. It struck me as very abrupt and not at all satisfying. This is supposed to be a standalone book, but way too many plot lines were left flapping in the breeze. What's more? Readers are directed to go to such-and-such a website to see the letters that were alluded to in the book. Why not just put them in the BOOK? Why should readers have to "go somewhere" to find out more details?
All-in-all, it's an enjoyable read, but I don't know if I enjoyed it enough to seek out other books from this series. Three and a half stars.
Logan, the inadvertent and reluctant 'villian,' from book one, is unaware that he is the hero now for Mia. Mia, shy doormat that always has to pee when she gets nervous, is in need of help but she ends up being a hero and a healer herself for Logan. Karma sounds good to dish out but it never really brings true satisfaction, right? It certainly didn't for Logan and he doesn't want to see that kind of regret for Mia as well. Super cute story with lots of fuzzy feelings. I'm so glad there's more to this series. I can't wait for what/who is next!
I read this because I needed a quick palette cleanser, and it was kinda more. My eyes even leaked a little because here's the thing, we've all been in love at some point but most importantly, we want to still be loved beyond our flaws. Or what WE think are our flaws. And also, take that chance, some are a giant leaps, others are hops, but regardless...take the chance 😊
This book is proof of two things: if you want something bad enough, work hard for it, you can achieve it and everyone is capable of changing, making up for past mistakes. That said it won't always be easy, but it can be fun as the characters in this fictional tale show us the way. Enjoyed this book very much and read it all in one day! Will read more by this author.
OMG.... Laugh Out Loud Funny!! A new favorite author!! Could not put this down. Flawed characters with ultimate hearts of gold!! Love the Eleanor Roosevelt quotes!! Please read if a fan of rom-.com and chick lit!! Karma Book Club has it all!! I would give ten stars, if able!!
This author can really tell a story. This book really touched me. I think we all have moments in our lives that we are not proud of. This book is about accepting responsibility and forgiveness for ourselves those who hurt us. I can't wait to read more from this author.
Read this straight after The Virgin Club as they are easy to sink into. Perfect flow from one book to the next. Couldn't wait to read Logan's book and how he was going to be able to redeem himself and also meet the woman that would turn his world upside down. Loved every moment and I'm on to the next book.
Disclaimer: There are a few crude body part references and some lusty thoughts, but no sex or over-the-top groping descriptions. PG-13, but I prefer clean.
This book was adorable and a good read. I would have given it a five up until the cheesy top-of-the-car scene (you’ll get to it - and maybe you’ll like it). The ending wasn’t rushed and loose ends were tied up, but that scene could have been done differently and really been great! Some things in the ending would probably not have happened in real life, but isn’t that part of why we love rom- com? Enjoy!
This book was perfect for a light hearted funny romance. I love reading books like this when I'm coming off a big traumatic series. And this book was exactly what I needed. So Mia is a super cute chick with a crappy boyfriend and an even suckier bestfriend. She comes home from work to find her stuff packed in trash bags and her BFF has taken her man and her apartment. If that isn't enough they also work together and are competing for the same promotion. Then you have Logan. He has definitely made some super Douchey decisions but is he really a bad guy. Well 1 apartment lease calamity later and these two are thrown together. So like I said before this was the perfect fast paced and funny read. I loved it and laughed out loud more than once while I was reading it. You should definitely give it a try.
How can someone make up for doing something awful - and how long should that person be punished for the misdeed? This book was an interesting mix of light romance and a very deep question - that of redemption and forgiveness. The story starts as Mia finds out her boyfriend has been cheating on her, and that he's basically kicked her out of her own apartment. Not one for theatrics, (and deep-down, faintly relieved that the romance is over), Mia finds another apartment right away and moves in...at the same time as someone else moves in. A mistake at the agency means the apartment has been rented out to two people - Mia and Logan. Mia is no pushover and she's determined to have the apartment. She's already lost a boyfriend, her apartment, and her favorite sofa - nothing is going to take this place away. Backed up by her three sisters, Mia rolls up her sleeves to fight, and finds herself charmed by Logan. She lets him stay until he finds a place of his own, and she settles down to get to know him and maybe fall in love again, because he's so nice, cute and - and then she finds out the truth about him. And what he's done. And her world falls apart once more, because she's really fallen hard for him. This was a terrific addition to the series, the author does a great job of making her characters come alive. I highly recommend it.
Kayley Wood mastered comedy romance in The Karma Book Club. This being the second book in the series allows fans to see the results of what played out in The Virgin Club. Logan is homeless and jobless because of his actions against a rich family in Boston. Just as he gets a job and the apartment he had waited years to get, he finds it has already been leased. They kick Mia out of her apartment when her boyfriend and best friend decides she is the third wheel. The Cox sisters come through with the perfect apartment for her, only it was also leased to Logan.
The Karma Book Club by Kayley Wood keeps you laughing as Logan and Mia draw on each other’s strengths and help each other over weaknesses. Mia overlooks Logan’s mistakes, but it isn’t easy in her business. The closeness of the Cox sisters is humorous as they imagine evil actions against all their bullies, Logan is the voice of wisdom within this group. The author keeps the characters engaging as they have flaws and insecurities, but she keeps it light as they work out their feelings for each other. This was a fun book to read.
In the opening chapter, we get to witness painful and cringing scene where Mia is dumped by her boyfriend who is in “true” love with her friend. And so, we are hooked, a romantic comedy that starts out so painfully has to get better, right? After she is rescued by her sisters, Mia is able to get a new apartment, but there seems to be a catch. Gorgeous Logan shows up saying that its his apartment and he has the lease to prove it. Well the overbearing and protective Sisters are here to ensure that Mia isn’t taken for a ride… again. Logan notices and offers Mia a deal: They both stay at the apartment, they are off limits to each other and he helps he learn how to become more assertive. Hijinks ensue, and feelings arise (it’s a romance after all). Funny and quick to read, I enjoyed the book and all the laughter it brought. The romance was a slow blooming and authentic feeling one and the chemistry between Mia and Logan clicked from the beginning. I loved the revenge ideas and how some things just never seemed to go right for Mia but she still fought on and in the end learned to take what she wanted
I just want to gush on how much I loved the The Karma book club by Kayley Wood. It was the perfect romance comedy! The story centers around Mia who never speaks up for herself and Logan who is trying to recover from being in a tabloid scandal. You couldn’t find more opposite people. But when they both sign a lease for the same apartment. It becomes apparent that fate had other plans for them. This book was filed with so many other characters you will fall in love with. Mia’s overprotective but funny sisters Judy, Crystal And Jean. Growing up with the last name Cox has formed a strong bond between them. And I tell you Mia’s ex- landlord Mabel stole the limelight. I’m still laughing at what she did to the cop cars. Add in a red couch, banana suit, and a princess costume and you have a never ending round of laughs. I did read this book out of order. But its a standalone story. With characters from the 1st book.I gave it 5 out of 5 stars. If you are a fan of R. S. Grey you definitely need to get it!
The Karma Book Club is the second book in the Club Series by Kayley Wood. This book is about Mia who has just been dumped by her boyfriend for her supposed best friend. She meets Logan when they both want to claim the same apartment.
Logan was a character in The Virgin Club and he was a bad guy in that story. I wasn't sure I wanted to read about Logan in this book, but I hoped that there was more to him than what there appeared and I was happy to learn that there was. Logan and Mia are very different from each other, but it is those differences that make them an interesting couple. I enjoyed their banter and how real they were with each other. Mia's sisters are also wonderful and we all wish to have a similar relationship with our siblings.
I loved this second installment to the Club Series and look forward to the next.
I was given a copy of this book by the author. A review was not required either good or bad. My thoughts on this book are my own.
This is FANTASTIC book. A beautifully written romantic comedy! This book had me laughing out loud, my heart beating faster, uttering swear words in my mind at the characters and even becoming all teary-eyed (which I hardly ever do!). This is a real Rom-Com with chaos that leaves you with a happy, yappy smile on your face when you’re done. I read it in one sitting, it was that good.
Mia has hit rock bottom. Her boyfriend has dumped her for her best friend, whom she works with, and to top it off, he’s taken their apartment (with the stuff that SHE’S bought!). But Karma has other ideas by bringing Mia into contact with Hot as Hell Logan Miller that leads to laugh out loud moments. Great book. Ooh I need to get my hands on the next book.
I read the Virgin Club and had no idea how much better it could get. This book is about Logan and Mia, two people that happen to get into a mixup of their new apartment. I loved the personalities of these two, it’s honestly so cute. I also really enjoyed reading the character build they both went through out the book. It’s a great story, and so cool to read what happens at the end. Recommendable x100!
First of, the book is ‘clean’ ie no sex scenes. Some kissing scenes. Surprisingly it had two F words. Besides that it was completely formulaic writing. Entertaining but nothing quite living up to the laugh out loud comedy that it was touted as. I did enjoy it for it’s purely escapist content and the end was soppy sweet romance. Literally felt like one of those Hollywood romcoms without too much comedy!
When awful things happen revenge is usually thought sweet. This book points that beinfg true to your values is really the best. It also has flawed characters that are real, loveable, and grow strong in facing challenges to get back on the right path. Very enjoyable
I knew I liked Logan Miller! I was excited to read this one after The Virgin Club and I wasn't disappointed. It was the right balance between fun and emotion and romance. The Karma Book idea is just brilliant and one I could use myself LOL Now I can't wait to read Lucas' story as well...
Going into this book I had some reservations because I did not really want to like Logan after The Virgin Club but thankfully he redeemed himself! I adore Logan and Mia ❤ I think I liked this one even more than the first!
