This is meant to be funny. But I didn't find it funny at all. Like all things designed to be funny that you don't find so it becomes just annoying.
If you enjoy the slightly farcical, over the top absurd British comedy style, then this might be for you. Sadly, it wasn't for me.

I have never laughed so much!!!

This was like an amazing therapy session, that had me howling with each development, and Kiki has smashed it with this being her final novel. I will miss her stories and her humour as it is so refreshing (but I hope she might be back, one day!)

Sophie’s story is an interesting one for sure. With the help of her friend Laura, who is trying her hand at life coaching, Sophie works on healing herself after breaking up with her soulmate, Jazz. The balance between snippets of Laura talking with Sophie, and the recounts of her past with Jazz lead to an exciting, comical reciting of such unbelievable but highly amusing events that occurred between them leading to their parting!

Laura’s helping is a catalyst to driving the rest of the story as Sophie and Jazz work through a very unconventional relationship and I was truly invested in each moment as this story unravelled.

It really was the funniest story, in a cute and endearing way. Comedy romance at its best, in a kinky and hilarious way that I truly believe only Kiki is capable of delivering to us. Pure comedic genius on so many levels. It really is a story that is food for thought, but great for the soul.

If you are feeling a bit down, or just want to brighten up your day, or just need a great laugh then this is the book for you! I truly can’t put into words how addicted I got to this story, and how much I was talking to myself while reading it. What a read!!!! Really, just brilliant, and will have you grinning from ear to ear most of the way through.

The rest of the time you will be squealing with excitement, gasping in disbelief and crying with laughter.

Highly recommend as this was just everything I could have hoped for, especially if it is to be Kiki’s last (for now!) novel!!!! GO READ IT! I swear you won’t be disappointed!

Sophie has been hiding her real self for five years. She keeps herself quiet and unassuming while working as a piano teacher when she could have been an orchestra superstar. That is until she meets Jazz, and all her well-kept rules start to fall apart.

But the secrets kept could be the reason she can never really let go and enjoy life and love with Jazz.

I can’t believe this is the last book Kiki Archer will write. Sad day in Lesbian Fiction and such a loss, but she went out with a bang. This book was phenomenal. Not only did it have all the usual hilarity and extraordinary storylines (with fantastic secondary characters), but it was the sexiest book Kiki Archer has ever written.

Jazz was, by far, my favourite character in the book. She was incredibly fun-loving while being incredibly caring and understanding to Sophie. Sophie was hilarious, but a few times, I wanted to shout at her, “Why do you keep F*!#ing this up,” but by the end, it becomes clear, and I wanted to give her a massive hug.

As I said, this is a sexy book. Not because of the actual sex in the book, but more the talking about it. These ladies have sexy goals when it comes to sex and the things they will do to please each other. But what made it different is that Kiki Archer still makes it fun. Neither Jazz or Sophie are taking themselves too seriously when it comes to sex and what they enjoy. It was really quite empowering.

Another hilarious read from Kiki Archer. I am incredibly sad this will be the last book from Kiki. She has been one of the highlights of reviewing books.

I just finished because I have a problem with unfinished things, but the book is not that funny and to be honest, I really don't get it why Sophie and Jazz are together.
Also, I didn't like Sophie, she's so spoiled and has such a temp, so childish.
I don't know if I'm gonna read anything else from this author, but I'm really disappointed.
And, for me, phone-sex IS cheating.

There are some sex scenes, but not so good either.
There's too much dialogue between second characters, like they talk too much, and all that bullshit talk got me really angst, like it's not funny, it's rude and tiring.
I'm glad I finished because the book got me super anxious with all the miscommunication.

This is the first book I've read by Kiki Archer (how is that even possible?) and it sure was a roller-coaster ride. Between the neurotic Sophie and her honestly-kind-of-homophobic friend/"life coach" Laura, I was seriously skeptical at first. But the dialogue was like watching a fun ping-pong tournament and the situations were pretty hilarious, so I kept going.

And then the twist came, and I was blown out of the water.

If I'd read any of Kiki Archer's work before, I might've been expecting a sudden revelation to explain why a character was acting so over-the-top weird. Since I hadn't, though, I spent the first part of the book thinking that "the girl who broke my heart" was the only sympathetic one. The twist shone a new light on all of that, one that so changed my opinion of the characters that I want to go read it again.

The only part I didn't like was that I felt the "will they or won't they" tug-of-war went on just a bit too long. Probably other readers enjoy the "Aughhhh, NO!" feeling when things go terribly wrong at the last minute, but I didn't. Thankfully we got our Happily Ever After, which I absolutely require in any lesbian romances I read.

All in all, Say You'll Love Me Again was a great book that made me revise my early opinion of it in a big way. I'll definitely be seeking out more of Kiki Archer's past work!

It was funny, with lots of up and downs. Was it better than the previous book of Kiki? I don't think so. However for farewell, this obe will go down as a funny one.

"No one cares about the bloody malt loaf!"

I was so torn with this book. I hated Sophie as a character so much that I almost couldn't finish the book, but I did enjoy the humor so I stuck it out. It's really over the top and fast-paced, especially when there are four or more people in a scene all vying for attention, but if you read it slowly, it is pretty funny. It's really just...outrageous, I guess is the right word. It was only when I was trying to describe to my wife the scene when Jazz and Sophie try some BDSM role-playing and I couldn't do it without laughing so much my sides hurt that I decided I liked the book enough to leave a positive review. Admittedly though, this kind of humor is not for everyone, and Sophie really is an overdramatic pain, but if British-style, dialogue-heavy humor is your thing, you'll probably like this book.

As with all of Ms Archer’s books, I’ve bought it on the day it’s released and finished it, in one day and as always I left wanting more.

I’m very sad to hear this is going to be her last book, but I can say she’s going out on a high in my eyes.

I laughed out loud, I felt sad, invested in the relationship, was surprised by the twists along the way. Couldn’t put it down.

I would recommend this to anyone and everyone, and if you haven’t already go read her other work, I think they will forever live in my E-reader.

I also want to thank Ms Archer for releasing them on Kobo because not all authors do, I also want to wish her all the best in her future plans.

There were many funny spots in this tale and some decent dialog. The secondary characters were also reasonably well developed, which makes for a better story. However, Sophie's endless flying off the handle got old fast. It also made it difficult to like her as a main character or to think very positively about her relationship with Jazz.

I love it

Yet another funny book. I've only read two but love them both, going to have to read them all now lol. Great story, great outcome, great characters . I like malt loaf of anyone's offering. Thanks Kiki for a few hours of fun, count out it down and got in dribble from the other half for not listening when asked a question lol.

Wanted to like this book because I have enjoyed the authors other books but couldn’t get into it, a pair of silly volatile women, were not suitable for each other and found Sophie an idiot for wanting the relationship to carry on. I couldn’t finish it and wasn’t funny at all. Anti-climatic as it was the authors very last book ever.

I would like to start off by saying: I hated everyone.

Now, I personally wouldn't have minded this story ending around 46%. I will admit that there were some parts I did laugh, and some of that was due to frustration. Not a single sane person, and I don't mean that positively. I like when characters have a uniqueness about them, and I usually like sex jokes, though usually comically out of the mouth of old women. I love when old women have a certain spunk in them and a liveliness that shocks everyone around them. This though, was a bit crass for me at times, but again I do admit I laughed now and then.

I genuinely have enjoyed all my previous books from Kiki Archer, so this one had me baffled. It was very different, which isn't a bad thing, but I'm far more a sensitive/sentimental seeker when I read.

Laura was too much. I found her early behavior humorous until it became clear that she was wrong on all counts for not only placing herself in someone's business, but also to accuse a 'friend' at every turn until it benefited her to switch sides. In short, she's a sensationalist. She's also narcissistic.

Sophie. Trivial. Everything was trivial in the end. Childish. The plot twist was glaring at me from a mile away, and I was glaring back.

Jazz was the most rational one. How? She had her moments of being wrong, but I definitely didn't see her being the most sane person in the room as a possibility when I read she was a comedian. I'm glad I was wrong about her.

The back and forth (present to past to present) of them retelling the story of their love... not a fan.

In the end, the humor wasn't bad, but the characters were maddening. I wanted to stop reading, but I kept going because I am a fan of Kiki Archer, and this will not deter me from reading other works from her.

This is one wild roller coaster of a story. A love story full of so many twist and turns, yet also endearingly sweet and intensely passionate.

Sophie and Jazz are in a lot of ways polar opposites and their connection is even compared to magnets. The pull so strongly towards each other or push so strongly apart. The passion between them was outstanding, they get hot and heavy right away and has this incredibly sexy and all encompassing romance.

The book goes back and forth from past and present and changes perspectives a lot, giving a chaotic feel that fits really well with the hot and cold, up and down of Sophie and Jazz’s relationship. Its fun and messy.

Honestly Jazz is a saint, she sees the real Sophie and is able to enjoy or at least tolerate Sophie’s quirks and other issues. Sophie is a complicated and conflicted character and I loved watching her development throughout the story.

I was greatly surprised by all the plot twists. The story kept going way past when I expected it to end and kept me on my toes with wonderful reveals and tricks. This book was the most different from all of Archer’s books that I have read in writing style, plot setup, and romance. I loved the way it all came together.

This book is unbelievably steamy, Sophie and Jazz have this irresistible sexual attraction and fiery passion that directly correlates to their dialogue and sexual encounters. Incredibly hot and potentially volatile. It made for one wild ride.

Archer is always great at injecting humor into her stories but I believe this is her funniest book yet. Jazz’s comedy is hilarious and crude (adorably so) and many of the situations were also hilarious. This book is sure to make you laugh.

I loved this story so much. It wasn’t fluffy but it was cute and exciting and so much fun. Full of drama, humor, passion, plot twists, and sexy scenarios, this book is sure to please.

I listened to the Audible version of this novel and was entirely captivated by the characters, the humor, and the continuous unraveling of the plot. This book is so funny! I found myself laughing out loud to the stand up comedy routines, all the while blushing at the crudeness of some of the jokes. They were perfectly hilarious! The dynamic of some of the character interactions is borderline slapstick (Laura and her mother) and added a bonus layer of humor to the story. The romance between the main characters is sweet while still steamy (so steamy!) at times. I just loved following the story and interacting in the lives of all of these characters. Such a wonderful read (and listen)!

The narrator, Ella Lynch, is an absolutely divine storyteller. She has a calming tone to her voice, which is an amazingly simultaneous blend of soothing and captivating all at once. There is something so personal about the way she narrates a story. It feels more like a close friend in the room, recalling a story of her life rather than the plot of a novel. I love this as it makes the entire experience more authentic and allows for a genuine connection with the characters. Highly recommend!

This was a book that was hard for me to put my finger on. I absolutely loved Sophie and Jazz. But so many of the supporting characters were… not people I wanted to spend time with. In the early part of the book, we spend so much time with Laura, who behaves horribly (as both a so-called life coach and a so-called friend).

Even Sophie… she seemed so quick to run away for the weirdest reasons.

I think the intent was to be hilarious fun (and much of the time it succeeded), but when I didn't find it funny, I could find it really irritating.

That said… humor can be very culturally specific. And I know that I missed noticing for far too long that this wasn't set in North America. So… I wonder whether some of the humor might have been more apparent to a British reader than to me.

How can you go from loving a character to hating a character to relating in real life to loving a character to hating a character?! I've no idea but this book just shows some of the lesbian drama we face and deal with haha. Brilliant read thoroughly enjoyed it and also the twist and turns in the book! Doesn't see half of the things that happened coming!

LOVED IT!

I love a secret, especially other people’s. We all have that inner intrigue in others' lives that always seems to take you by surprise because, well, you didn’t realise you were so nosy and interested.
This book provided that for me in the unravelling of it all. I couldn’t wait to find out what the big secret was.

The whole set-up of the story was a clever concept, and the characters were intriguing and entertaining, as they always are in a Kiki Archer novel. Needless to say, I was gripped from the start and unable to stop myself from turning the pages.

As usual, Kiki provided us with a light-hearted, easy and fun read with all the necessary twists, links and flirt a gal could want. I was sad to hear this would be the author's last novel, but maybe she'll surprise us again one day.

Gdyby ksiazka skończyła sie po akcji z teatrem to nie byłoby tak źle, ale mniej więcej od połowy z kazdym rozdziałem mialam coraz bardziej wrażenie że książka była pisana na siłę.

Got 57% of the way through and could not finish. I really like a lot of her books but I have found this one dragged it’s feet a lot of the way, and I just can’t see that the two main characters fit together.

The best friend frustrates me with her go-between personality and honestly I find Sophie quite dull with a personality of a pine cone, while Jaz is much more interesting and I find it difficult to see them together.

Won’t stop me reading her books in the future but was disappointed with this one.

Originally reviewed for Chick Lit Central (www.chicklitcentral.com)

This is my first Kiki Archer book, and I’m sad to say that Say You’ll Love Me Again is her last. There were a lot of comical moments within a sea of serious, a nice balance for a woman who has done everything in her power to become anonymous. The same could almost be said for the dynamics between Sophie and Jazz, two completely opposite personalities who at times compliment one another, at other times create a polarizing effect. It’s in those moments where we strip away the bravado and see who each character really is, and who they really are together.

There were plenty of times where I wanted to reach into the pages and shake Sophie by the shoulders, attempt to put some sense into her. The closer she gets to Jazz, the more she puts up a strong wall of protection. Jazz looks upon Sophie as a fascinating specimen, a puzzle she’s trying to figure out. At first I felt that Jazz was willing to go the distance in terms of accepting Sophie as she is, wholeheartedly, but then I began to see the cracks within Jazz’s own foundation. No couple is perfect, and this one showcases what it’s like when there is baggage coming from all directions. Do you pack it up and carry on, or unload it?

Honorable mentions go to Sophie’s friends. Laura is the crackpot life coach who attempts to either help or hurt this couple, you never really know her true angle. Laura’s mother is hysterically funny, seemingly the voice of reason behind the chaos. Sophie’s coworkers are an odd situation themselves, and it gets to where you’re not really sure who Sophie could count in her corner, who is there to support her when she needs it. There is a bit of parental strife thrown in for good measure on both sides of the coin for both women, but it only adds to the troubles this couple experiences. There are a lot of questions and back and forth scenarios, it was hard to determine if Sophie and Jazz would remain together or do better apart.

A definite perk to Say You’ll Love Me Again were the few heated scenes that are sprinkled into the pages for good measure. Although there were times where it felt the scenes were a little heavy on the dialogue and not as much with the scenery, I still felt as though I was part of the action. One of the biggest things I appreciated was the aspect of acceptance, and strength. Sophie has to come to terms with who she is and ultimately, who she loves, and this means showing a side of her life that no one else has ever seen and might not understand. From her friends, to her parents, even within herself, there is a lot of growth and change that takes place, and it was exciting to see. This might be Archer’s last book, but this won’t be the last book I read from her lineup!

I really wanted to like this book, but it just didn't do it for me. The characters were well written but not very likeable, the jokes and humour just didn't land for me. I didn't enjoy the way the story was told, or believe the series of events. I also found the intimate sections to be forced into situation where it wasnt necessary.

I am really disappointed that I didn't like this, as I have read a number of Kiki Archer's other books and really enjoyed them.

Couldn't finish - made it half way through - it so perhaps I should have given it a 1, but I've liked other books by Kiki Archer so that bumped it up a bit. Wanted to like it, but found the characters irritating and the format / framing distracting. I can see how it is trying to be witty with snappy back and forth, but I just get snappy and snarky.
