before i get into this review…don’t let this bright, beautiful cover fool you…this book is dark. some heavy trigger warnings include rape and mentions of attempted suicide/suicide.

i could’ve finished this book in less than a day if my life didn’t get so unexpectedly busy😩this book had me crying sfm that i ended up getting a migraine and fell asleep for hours so this is why my review took so long to finally be posted🥲idk what i was expecting before getting into this book, but it definitely wasn’t that. i know a lot of my updates were about ollie and how perfect he is, but i just really wanna emphasize how emotional, dark and heartbreaking this book really is.

♡ mini plot summary
19 year old, mia jett is an american girl who gets sent to dolor university…a reformatory college in the uk for young adults who suffer from mental illnesses. mia jett suffers from emotional detachment disorder and feels nothing at all while ollie masters feels too much. what happens when a girl who feels nothing at all meets a boy who wants to make her feel everything?

there were times where this girl upset me so much, but finding out about her past…i want to do nothing, but hug her.

getting to understand mia and why she does the things that she does was a roller coaster ride with many ups and downs. i spent half of this book thinking ollie doesn’t deserve to be with her…that he deserves to be with me instead, but i think mia is perfect for ollie and vice versa. they slowly became one of my favorite couples and i’m rooting for them🥹i’m rooting for her…after everything she’s been through, she deserves a man like ollie.

the first emoji that pops into my mind when i think about this man—>🤰i’d marry him and have his kids yesterday. this man is PERFECT😩

one of the hottest things a man could do is call you “love” and then when this man went from calling her “love” to “my love”…call me dramatic, but i almost died. weak in the knees every time. this man has tattoos. he loves to read and he loves to write poetry!?!? ugh please, i want him so bad. he literally reads the notebook to mia because she’s never seen the movie…i’m so sick. also the way mia describes his green eyes and his hugs😩i need him to look at me with his beautiful green eyes so i can lose myself in them and i need an ollie hug…immediately. especially after reading this book😩this man’s past :( i don’t even wanna talk about it. the fact that he’s still the perfect gentleman after all he went through. he’s so precious and must be protected at all costs.

♡ my three favorite scenes:
these three scenes are so intimate and so memorable😩they gave me an endless amount of butterflies🦋🦋i won’t give too much away…mostly quotes of what he says to her because🥵and some quotes of what she says to him too for some context hehe. the first scene…they’re playing strip or dare with four of their friends. the second scene…ollie is laying down on his bed with mia sitting on top of him on his lap and things happen while their four friends are busy playing a game. the third scene…she thinks that he’s afraid to touch her, but he immediately proves her wrong.

♡ scene #1:
“strip or dare?” i asked, looking over at ollie, who sat by himself on the mattress against the wall.
“dare.”
“touch yourself, ollie. i want to see you make yourself come.”
“you can’t be serious.”
“there are two types of people in this world, ollie. those who don’t complete their dares, and those who do. just slip that hand underneath those boxers of yours so i can see you lose yourself.”
“this is your dare, love…for your viewing pleasure only. you have to come sit in front of me and watch.”
~~~no bc i’d immediately crawl to him. this was so hot😩she goes over to sit in front of him and when he starts…she closes her eyes.
“no, look at me. this is what you wanted. you wanted to see me lose myself.”

“you trust me, mia?”
“don’t move, no matter what.”
~~~he grabs a blanket to cover part of them so he can finger her😩
“i told you not to move, and i’m just getting started. do you want me to stop, mia?”

~~~I’M SO QUIET🤭like okay baby, whatever you say😋she starts moaning so he kisses her to swallow her cries.
“come here and kiss me.”
“you okay?” he asked, fixing my panties.
i shook my head. “i want you inside me, like right now.”
“trust me, i want you, too. though not in front of them. i am a gentleman. i shouldn’t have even done that with them here. i respect what we have, alright? but sometimes i lose control at the same time.”
“you lay there and be a complete gentleman, ollie—and let my be bad for you.”
“oh…fuck, mia. you’re going to make me want to have you right here and now.”
“that’s the point.”
“this in no way means you mean anything less to me.”

“you sound so proper for someone who just fucked their girlfriend in front of other people.”
“one, don’t ever say i fucked you…two, it wasn’t in front of everyone. you were covered, and they haven’t got a clue and…did you call yourself my girlfriend?”
“yeah, i guess i did, didn’t i.”
“it sounds so…downplayed, underrated for what you are to me. i don’t like it. we don’t need a title. all we need is each other.”
~~~the way that this man told her to never say that he fucked her…i’m screaming. this man is in love love.

♡ scene #3:
“touch me, ollie. i need to know you still want me.”
“what are you talking about? i always want you.”
“you haven’t touched me since you found out what i did.”
“nothing has changed. i want you so fucking bad right now, but you were drugged not even two days ago. i’m trying to respect you.”
“okay,” i muttered and dropped my gaze.
“no.” he lifted my chin, forcing me to see him. “don’t shut me out.”
then he grabbed my thighs and turned me around in a swift movement, bringing me to the edge of the mattress.
“i worship you, mia.” he lifted my legs and pulled them apart unapologetically.
“what are my limits, love?”
“you have none.”
“just lay here and let me take care of you, then.”
“don’t move, and just feel me.”
“you’re soaking wet. is that what i do to you?”
“stay still.”
“hold on a little longer. don’t let go, baby. i’m not done with you yet.”

♡ final thoughts:
i said i didn’t wanna give too much away, but that was a lot…trust that it doesn’t spoil much. there’s a lot more about this book than this man being absolutely perfect😩i do recommend reading this book, but again…it’s a heavy one so please be emotionally prepared and know the triggers in this book. the writing is soooo good…nicole fiorina ATE. this is a trilogy so please don’t expect a happy ending with this first book. speaking of the ending…can i just say how much i KNOW the second book is gonna hurt!?!? it’s gonna hurt a lot and i’m not ready yet🥲the only characters i love in this book are mia, ollie, and zeke. alicia and jake i didn’t mind…but the rest can go die slowly and painfully.

this is one of the wackiest, worst romances i've ever read. melodramatic and corny to begin with and totally flies off the rails by the 50% mark. and i can overlook corny, i'm not too good for corny romances but

the handling of rape and mental illness? YIKES babes. as a certifiable loony bitch, hearing mia talk about "manic episodes" had me rolling my fucking eyes. you punched a wall, you're not bipolar love. and i can't begin to express how bizarre the handling of rape was. like truly, who thought this should be multiple major plot points???

i'm tired. and a lil upset that this is the last book i had to read for an otherwise really nice video. avoid. avoid. avoid. like seriously, even for a "dark" romance. you can do better.

In my very humble opinion, this book doesn't compare to the books it lists with here on Goodreads. I also don't find it very comparable to The Fabric of our Souls - that book owned me. This one? I haven't wanted to pick it up since I put it down last week.

The FMC is insufferable, the plot is so far fetched. I've heard this story gets even loopier and goes right off the rails and into a dumpster fire at the 50% mark, which I didn't make.

I'm saving myself and my sanity and calling it quits at 32%

Totally Epic. I loved every minute of it.



I don’t even know what to say. I loved this book and hated it in a way. The first chapter was a foreshadowing of things to come so it was almost like watching the titanic. I knew what was coming and everything building up to that point was pulling me in and making me feel but I just couldn’t turn away because it was so good.

The story is about Mia who gets sent by her father and Stepmother to an institution in England called Dolor. The place is a cross between a mental health center where people get therapy and a college where they take classes and get credits, but if they fail or get in trouble they will end up in prison or a mental institution. This is like a last stop. But they are also locked in at night and have rules and some of them are on medications. If they act out they can get sent to solitary confinement or to the mental institution next door.

Mia is there because she believes she is a sociopath, she is unable to feel any emotions or empathy. She meets Ollie who is different from anyone she has ever met before because he makes her feel things. The story not only details the romance between the two, but her recovery, his mental illness, and several other characters that they hang out with.

This reminded me of several other books and movies that take place in hospitals and mental institutions or even at boarding schools in some ways. Like the fact that their group sneaks out of their locked rooms at night to hang out. The romance between the characters just gives you all the feels because of the fact that Ollie and Mia both have issues with their emotions. They are afraid of emotions in different ways and afraid of being hurt and hurting each other and of being left alone.

The character development is great, even supporting characters, the writing is spectacular, the plot is original and nothing was predictable. Of course the book ended with a cliffhanger and I can’t say I am too upset about it, because I was crying and afraid it was just going to end that sadly. So at least I have hope. I just really hope Nicole Fiorina is a fast writer, because I really need to find out how it all ends up. I loved it and recommend it to everyone.

Okay, wow. This book was unlike anything I've ever read. I was nervous going in because the summary is pretty vague, but I'm glad I didn't know too much. This book was so emotional and was about two people who felt too much and too little and had no idea what to do with their intense emotions for one another. Also, can we talk about Ollie!? Easily one of my new favorite romance heroes. I love a hero who is all in and adamant about his emotions and I loved that about Ollie. My heart broke for him and everything Mia put him through because she was in denial about feeling anything for him. I wasn't the biggest fan of the other woman drama that came to play later on in the book because it wasn't really fleshed out and wasn't really that necessary, but that's really my only complaint for the book. I loved this wild ride and cannot wait to pick up book two!

Mia’s dad and stepmom transfers her to Dolor University in UK, a private college for the seemingly deranged and mentally problematic young adults. There Mia meets Ollie Masters, the boy who’s able to cause her to feel whirlwind of emotions and help her move on from her dark past. Ollie tries to capture her attention and bring light and hope into her life, whereas Mia does everything she can to keep him away, even if it destroys him.

“You never have to worry, love. You have me completely.” He pressed his forehead to mine. “You so fucking have me.”

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜 𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘𝗗:
• Although i don’t remember much of what happened in this book, i sure do remember the few beautiful moments Ollie(H) and Mia(h) shared together. I’ll be honest, initially everything just felt...too much?¿. Ollie’s love for Mia was so sudden and fierce that it felt insta-lovey and forced but it turns out Ollie has ‘EI’ (Emotional Intensity) so that definitely put things into perspective. I realized then that their love story was actually something rare and beautiful. Now that i think back, it’s honestly breathtaking. Definitely want what they have :c

• I adore Ollie for his perseverance to help Mia overcome her trauma and never once gave up on her even when she constantly pushed him away and hurt his feelings. He had his own shit going on but it didn’t stop him wanting to be Mia’s hero🥺

- The things that came out of Ollie’s mouth can frankly be quite cringey 😬 i mean they’re sometimes cute but...........

- This didn’t leave a hard emotional impact on me as much as i thought it would since i see so many readers on Instagram giving this 5 stars and bawling their eyes over it...so i’m kinda bumped over that bc ur girl lowkey wants to be on a book-slump apparently

- I see people raving the collection of poetry by Ollie(H) in here, saying that they’re so touching and deep when really..... i don’t see it?? 👀ionnomannn. i cringed and laughed at some of them but heyy i’m no poet so what do i know 🤷🏻‍♀️

A heroine who supposedly doesn't feel anything and think she's a sociopath and is then shipped off to a boarding school for delinquents somewhere in the UK, then falls in love with a person who feels everything intensely?



so the prologue (set in the future) had me hooked because apparently the H, Ollie, was the one who ended up letting her go or something.

”Stay with me," you had said over and over. Who would have thought you would be the one to take a step into oblivion?"

but then it started to become slow for the first few chapters UNTIL we meet Ollie and his friends, and then it was all drama galore from there and i was H-O-O-K-E-D.

im not gonna say anything bout the story because it’s better to read it but just know that boarding school + crazy characters = GREATNESS.

there is insta love here and i really don't like this trope at all because i prefer a realistic progression but i actually find it very endearing here. and don't get me wrong, there's definitely progression but insta love is still present, especially in the H's side. this is definitely more character-driven than action/adventure type of book so if you like that, i definitely recommend this.

Mia (h):
im gonna be real here, she annoyed me in the beginning. her pushing away from the H was frustrating as hell, especially when she did things to deliberately hurt him (sleeping with two OM, and kissing OM in front of H after they've already met and kissed.)

i feel this way because Ollie was the sweetest, most innocent boy out there and he would say all these swoony things that would just make me melt, and the h wasn't that likeable so far, sooo i was kinda biased.

listen, i really dislike when either h or H is intimate with OW/OM after having strong feelings for their love interest or that they were already intimate with them, especially when this is not a second chance romance and there are no time jumps. im selfish like that ok? how can i believe they really love their love interest if they're intimate with another person when the love of their life is literally RIGHT THERE?

yes, yes i know this is fiction and this happens in real life and nothing is all sweet and perfect but still! a girl can dream...

and the fact that these OM sex scenes are shown and not told? yeah... not my cuppa.

so, i didn't really like her in the beginning because i was biased towards Ollie. but then, her walls started to crumble and her character development? fucking AMAZING. Game of Thrones writers should learn a thing or two from the author.

she went from someone that annoyed me to someone i admired. we get to discover wtf happened to her and why she is the way she is and it was heartbreaking af.

and when she finally opened up to Ollie?


MY HEART COULDN’T TAKE THE CUTENESS !!!

when they were finally together, i was like OM who??
and that plot twist towards THAT certain OM? i was actually shook. i did not see that coming AT ALL. anyways, i just wanted to punch those two OM because they were just assholes, who clearly have no idea what consent means. fuck them.

Ollie (H):
this boy is just too cute and swoony for words, so imma leave it at that. BUT imma tell y'all that he calls Mia, "my love" AND he read The Notebook to her while he cuddled her! if that doesn't make you swoon and fall in love with him right then and there idk what can phase you. we all need the love of our lives to read to us, lets be real here.

”I'm not going to save you, Mia I don't want to be the one. I'm going to show you how to save yourself."

the whole setting of this book reminded me of hogwarts and vampire academy. is it because they're in a boarding school? yes, definitely. so, this book made me feel all nostalgic and im all for it.

“Sometimes even the darkest parts of us can become beautiful when seen through a different set of eyes.”

the writing here was so good and tbh, i don’t say this often but i really do think this should be adapted into a movie?? i can just imagine the oscars the actors portraying the MCs will be receiving.

this book does end in a cliffhanger and i can't wait to read the next one because DAMN that ending just left me so empty, but also, since im addicted to drama, im also so happy with it.

I kept going back and forth with my rating, but when it was all said and done, there are a few things that really stood out to me that helped me make my decision.

1. This is something somewhat different from anything I've personally read in romance up to this point. I don't get to say that often.

2. The hero is a totally different kind of hero than what I normally go for, but I adore him anyway.

3. I had no idea this book was a debut until I read the acknowledgements in the back of the book, and I'm impressed with this quality of writing in a debut.

4. The author took some risk with this being her first book, and I always love that.

Overall, a surprising debut! I look forward to reading the continuation of this series and whatever else the author has in store for us in the future.

Why the fuck would you write this book, Nicole? And why the fuck did you make me read this kendyl ʚ♡⃛ɞ? I am bawling my eyes out right now. My heart is torn and my mind is fuzzy and I don't know what to do with myself. But I'm going to go ahead typing this review as tears fall over my keyboard anyways.

Short Summary

Mia Rose Jett is a nineteen year old girl who has emotional detachment disorder. To avoid being sent to a mental institution because of her behavior, her father ships her off to a university in the UK which housed deranged and dangerous young adults who viewed the private institution as their own personal playground. Mia doesn't know why she is this way but Dolor University is a roller coaster ride for her which will ignite the memory in her brain.

Oliver (Ollie) Masters is a unique person in Mia's life, changing the way she is and sees the world. He's a beautiful man with bright green eyes and black inky tattoos. He just so happens to be a poet as beautiful as he looks. With him being Mia's safe haven at Dolor, things escalate.

My Opinion

I fucking adored this book. The author's writing is so beautiful and soothing that I just want to be captivated by her words all day. The way she strung letters to make words, and words to string together sentences is out of this world. As a beginning writer (an unpublished one, of course, because I lack confidence lol), I am inspired to write like Nicole.

The characters were so fun and interesting which made me want to know more. Although the author doesn't say as much about everyone besides Ollie and Mia, I still felt like I could connect with everyone. And boy did I connect (if you couldn't tell by the rating).

I smiled, laughed, giggled, squealed, screamed, cried, etc, all throughout this book. It was so amazing to feel all those emotions at once because that's the type of feeling I love when I read a book, not being aware of the words on the page, just the world the author has created which I can visualize in my brain.

The Ending

I need to know what happens after, oh, my Gosh. The cliffhanger. I am so mad right now that this is not on Kindle Unlimited (I have to return my Kindle anyways because of a bug in the system), or in any of my local libraries. Like why must you make me suffer? I swear to God, humanity has died down-

Ollie, Ollie, Ollie, oh boy, he stole my heart from the get go, he wrung out all the feels and I feared anything bad happening to him. His heart was so pure, too pure for all the terrors his world had thrown at him.

Mia, was a hot mess, she was messy and all over the place, but delve deeper and her layers were hidden behind walls of vaults due to what she'd endured at the age of eight. Her story is heartbreaking. Her demons have a deep seated hold of her, she uses sex as an escape as she's incapable of forming attachments.

Until him.

These two are as different as chalk and cheese, fire and ice, but together they balance the other out.

This pulled me in straight away, and blew me away finding out that this book right here is this author's debut novel.

Both of them were sent to this private mental health school in London and their story starts from there

Cheap bedding, and even worse food. The staff is half great, half crap. Y’all don’t send your repressed teenagers here if you want them to get better. I swear this reformatory college can’t have higher than a 3% success rate from what I gathered in this book.

All that out of the way, if you’re looking for a story that will own you emotionally and will have you swooning at the poetic vibe of Mia & Ollie’s love story, then you NEED to download Stay With Me right this minute. I swear I am not usually one to love a softer hero, but Ollie is that guy, and it’s necessary. Why? Because Mia is all walls and strength. She’s repressed all emotions, because of certain things, and Ollie is her perfect opposite. She’s doing all this wild and reckless stuff just to feel, and yet she still doesn’t. At least not really. But when she’s sent to Dolor (refers back to the Yelp review) and meets Ollie and some others, things start to change.

This story is a rollercoaster. It has its over the top moments, and at some points my anticipation for more info in the story bordered on irritation, but this author is talented. Her words feel deep and meaningful. The story she wrote feels fresh, and maybe it isn’t the first of it’s kind, but I’ve personally never read anything like this.

This is a to be continued ending, and I am absolutely DYING for whatever comes next. Dying and worried as anything. Like I must protect my battleship, Mia & Ollie. I can’t handle where we were left. I want to know who I have to bribe to get the next book.

holy shittt. The angst in this book was honestly


I kinda knew going in to expect feels, but I wasn’t prepared for where the story took me. Ollie (H) and Mia (h) are soulmates. Even if I’m unsure of everything else, I know that for a fact. I’m not a fan of insta love cause I’m personally all for the slow burn and tension but I do make some exceptions and it worked here imo!

I loved this man to death. He was the definition of a cute, swoony alpha H. Before anything else, I loved how, in the beginning of each chapter, there’s a quote from Ollie and each one spoke deeply to my soul. As a character, Ollie was patient, loving, empathic. I’m often drawn to the asshole, tortured Hs and, yes, Ollie definitely had his own demons but there was something different about him from heroes I often read that I couldn’t help but be intrigued by. He was a special one, and I adored him. <3

Mia (h):
I loved Mia! She was strong and feisty, also reserved in the beginning but, above all, she was a survivor and I had so much admiration for her. Before we learned about her past and what she had to endure, her actions had annoyed me a bit but, after we discovered what caused her to become that way, I felt for her. I understood why she kept pushing people away rather than letting them in and I don’t blame her at all for it. The thing I loved the most about her tho was seeing her growth throughout the book. I’m a sucker for character development and Mia’s was my favorite in this book.

romance:
Soulmates. That word comes to mind when I think of Ollie and Mia. The progression of their romance was every-fucking-thing. Even if you dislike insta love like I do, trust me on this when I say you don’t want to miss out on their love story.

plot twists:
This book knew how to keep me on the edge of my seat. The plot twists revealed in the second half had me


I genuinely didn’t expect the asshole Oscar to be Ollie’s brother?? Isaac, who I honestly didn’t even pay much attention to but was still shook by the revelation, betraying Mia and Ollie like that? tfff. I felt played by Isaac cause, even tho he was kinda just there for me, I didn't think he was Oscar-level. That pissed me off at three in the morning.

the plot:

basically, everyone believes Mia (h) is a sociopath and she's sent to a boarding school for troubled people somewhere in the UK. there she meets Ollie (H) 🥰💖✨😩🌹🧎‍♀️ and a bunch of other people and so the drama begins.

what i loved:

🍂 i'm sure it will come as a surprise but OLLIE, duh. i honestly can't with this man. he's a hot cinnamon roll and made me scream from start to finish 😭 you can tell from the beginning he's really into Mia but tries to be patient with her and her (lack of) feelings. though he's super intense anyway 🤣 there's some instalove on his part and while this usually doesn't work for me, i'm making him my exception. i also thought it was all justified once we got to see Mia and Ollie being happily in love 😭💖 he was onto something from the start lol

“You bring me croissants every Saturday, and I’ll gladly bear your children.”
Ollie turned his head to face me and the lump in his throat moved. “I’m holding you to that.”

🍂 LITERALLY EVERY MOMENT MIA AND OLLIE SPENT TOGETHER. even the most bizarre moments made me swoon. like, at the very beginning they're playing a game of dares with their friends and Ollie is dared to jerk off in front of Mia and all i could think was 🥰🥵😌😍

His hand disappeared beneath his black boxer briefs, and I closed my eyes.
“No, look at me. This is what you wanted. You wanted to see me lose myself,” Ollie whispered, and I looked up to see the taunt in his eyes. The thought of his fingers wrapped around the length of him caused my core to pound to its own pulse, and I sucked in a sharp breath as a flare sparked between my legs. His hand moved slowly inside his pants as his whispers continued. “You’re only making this easy for me.”

🍂 THE SMUT positively surprised me 😌 cause overall Ollie was super sweet but sometimes he'd be a little more alpha and 🧎‍♀️

“You are so beautiful,” he whispered from his throat.
I shook my head. “No talking.”
His eyes drifted up and down before they met mine again. “I don’t think you understand, love. I’m talking, and I’m saying you are fucking beautiful.” His gaze roamed down to my sex again before he drowned in weakness. “All of you.”

PLEASE every time he called her 'love' i got weak in the knees.

He grabbed my hips and guided me, sliding me up and down against his pelvis, the sensation of his warm skin against me causing me to whimper.
“You have to stay quiet, my love,” Ollie’s voice shook in a whisper as my legs grew weak.

and this scene where they had sex with their friends in the room shouldn't have been so hot, but it was 😩😩😩 (nobody sees them though dw it's not a devil's night situation 💀).

🍂 MIA'S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. her story broke my heart, but i loved seeing her come to terms with her past. i can't say i loved Mia as much as i loved Ollie, but i can safely say i liked her 7439847 times more by the end than i did by the beginning, and i'm glad it wasn't the other way around 😂

“I’m not going to save you, Mia. I don’t want to be the one. I’m going to show you how to save yourself.”

🍂 THE UNIVERSITY may be one of the most unrealistic places i've ever read about in my life, cause it's half boarding school half prison 🤣 but i loved the setting even if it could be ridiculous. most of their friends were ridiculous too, and not very likable fhdgj but i still ate it all up. (pero que la universidad se llame DOLOR? 💀💀💀 dolor me da mi universidad)

🍂 I low-key would've liked this to be more of a slowburn, but at the same time, I loved seeing OLLIE AND MIA IN A RELATIONSHIP. usually we get this at the very end of romance books and we don't see the MCs as a couple for long, but here?? they get together early on and just had a lot of happy moments where they simply ✨bonded. it was so so sweet and beautiful.

“But I don’t believe in love,” I whispered.
“Then believe in me.” Ollie grinned. “Believe in us.”

now, what i tried very hard to ignore:

🥀 OM DRAMA. this book is not safe at all 🙃 there are descriptive sex scenes with OM in the first half of this book. i only let it pass because Mia wasn't in love with Ollie yet, but one of those scenes was after they kissed and 💔 even if she thought about Ollie the whole time, i thought it was a little unnecessary 😩

🥀 all these characters are always on the verge of being sexually assaulted and i don't think every instance was handled well. the way they all ignored Bria almost raped Ollie???!?"#$? some of the drama was also OTT and it made me nervous af for the remaining books 😭

🥀 one of the therapy group sessions made me want to go kill someone. the way they FORCED Mia to share her story?? seriously wtf! what kind of psychologist would do that. revoke that guy's license immediately 🔪

in conclusion, while i know this book isn't perfect, the love story was beautiful and i couldn't stop reading 🥺 i loved the writing too, i heard this was the author's debut and i can't believe it.
please pray that i love the remaining books cause trilogies scare me, but i can't wait to read my babies HEA 🥰

Ollie et Mia étaient magnifiquement bouleversant, j’ai jamais autant surligné de passages dans un livre, j’ai qu’une hâte c’est de recevoir le livre en format papier pour y coller 7594 post-its et surtout de découvrir la suite (j’ai du mal a dire quoi que ce soit d’autre de cohérent à part que c’est un coup de coeur +++ et évidemment de regarder les tw avant de se lancer dans cette lecture)

this is one of these books that got to me from the first page and the first sentense because the way it‘s written is so beautifully. the story of mia and ollie had all the feels from giggling and curling your toes to ugly crying. i was definitely doing well

the flesh from my bones, the blood in my veins, the oxygen in my lungs, all of it crumbled, breaking into small pieces yet still holding on by a thread—the thread was my heart.

mia has gone through a lot of ugly things which you don't really find out until further down in the story it goes. yet she‘s a character that touches you deep in your heart and allows you to identify with her and her state of mind.

they told me what was wrong with me, who I was, my symptoms, my disorders, what went through my mind as if they knew me.

I have so many conflicting feelings about this book. (TWs at the bottom.)

First I need to talk about the mental heath “representation.”

This is not good representation. Emotional detachment disorder is not a diagnosis. Sociopathy isn’t a disorder. Anti-social personality disorder is (which the fmc most definitely doesn’t have). Emotional intensity is most definitely not a diagnosis. The way the therapists acts towards Mia is so so unethical she would be fired immediately. I found it extremely hard to suspend my disbelief while reading because so much of it is just so blatantly wrong and disrespectful to people who study and work in the field of psychology/mental health. Not only is it extremely wrong, which I’m pointing out so thoroughly due to the author’s acknowledgment section where she writes that she thoroughly researched before writing, but there’s also the wondrous case of magic dick healing trauma. I cannot STAND this trope. Attention from men doesn’t heal trauma. Neither does toxic codependency.

With all that being said, I couldn’t stop reading it. I’m attuning this to not being able to look away from a dumpster fire. It was so wrong and off-base yet I was gripped. And I’ve been in a slump for months so that was an interesting experience.

If you loved this book, I’m glad. I can see the appeal. I couldn’t stop reading it either. But because of personal reasons that I can’t separate from, I really had a lot of problems with this book.

I can’t recommend it to people who work in the mental health field.

These are my personal opinions and this rating/review is not a negative reflection of the author or other readers who enjoyed it. This book wasn’t for me, but I hope others are able to enjoy it.

this was an emotional ride. jesus.

i knew this was a hard one and it was, but i didn’t expect for me to be this invested. time passed slowly when i was reading this book, it feels like i’ve been here for weeks lmao.

i adore ollie. i want to hug ollie. i want to be hugged by ollie. and zeke, too. mia was a good h, but she had to grow on me. it was tough being inside her head.

i was so scared, so so scared for the last 30%. but it actually kinda went downhill for me. that’s why i couldn’t rate this higher. everything happened kinda fast and i felt like the scenes and feelings weren’t fully developed. don’t get me wrong, it kept my attention, but it felt anticlimactic how fast it all progressed. i’m OBVIOUSLY relieved we didn’t get to THAT extreme. also... i just wanna say, ollie and mia knew something went wrong every time they “played” or drank with everyone else and they STILL put themselves in that position like 5 more times. dude. just don’t go.

i’m scared for the next book. and i’m not sure why this is a trilogy, there isn’t really much going on. i think ethan is either be a great great addition to mia’s life or he is gonna be a problem.

i loved the whole falling in love process and the epilogue?? 🥺🥺 i’m usually super against “insta-lovey” romances, but ollie... goddamn it. i love him. every little poem at the beginning of the chapters were beautiful, too.

Mia and I, we’re the same person. She doesn’t feel anything and I didn’t feel anything when reading this book. Perfect match. 🥴 the characters in this series are seriously whack, but i’m not too surprised consider this book takes place in a school for troublesome kids.. still all the teenage drama that happened in this book yikes. the concept of this book is unique and i like it, but the excecution was so messy.

all in all, this book wasn’t good, but some of these quotes HIT so hard, especially those Ollie quote at the beginning of each chapter had me feeling some kind of things, before all my feelings evaporated with the beginning of each new chapter in Mia’s POV. 💀

Nicole Fiorina is the new author to me and I'm so glad that she found me and asked me to read her debut book because she impressed me with her book and writing style.

And that why I love so much to be an ARCs reader.

It's not because of free books or to get the new book from a famous author before anyone else.

It's because of the new authors like Nicole Fiorina who wreck your world (on a good way) with their debut books and you're so glad that you're the lucky one to be one of the first readers who discovered them.

"Stay With Me" is one of my favorite books this year, but I have to warn you, that this book is not for everyone's taste!

When I've started reading this book, I really didn't know what to expect from it 🤔.

But then something happened...

I was so addicted to book that I couldn't put it down. It was so intense, interesting and hot (a really hot 🔥🔥🔥) that I wanted to know what will happen next.

Mia and Ollie are two characters with emotional problems and their own demons.

They totally opposite from each other but when they're together they become an amazing couple because everyone knows that opposites attract and when you put that together you can get only something explosive and big to remember.

And that what Mia and Ollie are...

Two characters you won't forget soon...

I cannot say that it is an easy book to read and I advise you to read the trigger warnings first.
I can't also say that I loved it, although the writing was pretty good, I feel like there was a lot of the story that was rushed.
Among the main characters (Ollie and Mia), Ollie is without a doubt my favorite, I liked him from the beggining to the end.
I feel that the story could have been better developed in general, but it is a good book.

I have no words,They been through so so much. I love the way Ollie can talk about what he feels, that really helped Mia a lot.
my heart broke for Mia and Ollie and what they have had to endure and still are...and the 𝗣 𝗢 𝗘 𝗧 𝗥 𝗬. It will capture you, engross you, and never let you go

This is a powerful and touching story, it is beautiful, but also very difficult to read at times. It has many triggers, so you should read it carefully. However, please research this book for TW. ⚠️⚠️ (r@pe)(drugs)

*2.5 ok so hear me out…. i love mia and i love ollie and i love mia ollie. however i didn’t enjoy like the romance??? like yes i ship them as a couple but like there was no build up they were just all of a sudden in love and then it continued that way for the rest of the book. especially in the epilogue like ollie was talking abt having? her? children? after they barely exchanged one phrase?? idk wasn’t for me but i do luv the characters. this review is a mess. don’t hate me for this one theres so many positive reviews
