Yay!!! More Penny Reid!!! And all these extra deleted scenes from the Knitting couples I love and don’t have to say goodbye to JUST yet. Most of these are Janie/Quinn and Dan/Kathleen, deleted scenes from their books. My very favorites were the Sandra/Alex scenes. Squee! I am such an Alex fan and love my Sandra, and the extra bonus scene we got for them was such a great sendoff for this couple. I also loved the Ashley/Drew scenes. I liked how Penny provided a little explanation about why each scene wasn’t included in the actual book, and her reasoning on the Ashley/Drew scenes made sense, but still, it was nice to dive into the Winston family for those brief moments! Loved these!

Loved!!

I really love reading all of these extra scenes from all of my favourite characters. Yes - I had already read the majority of them, but this was totally worth it just for the new content. I read the book from start to finish, enjoying scenes I had already read, and absolutely devouring all the new scenes. My favourites would have to be Extra Scene : The Junior Hackers Society for Sandra and Alex, and Dan's creative word list was hilarious.

I loved pretty much 3/4 of the random deleted scenes with all the couples.

EXCEPT THIS ONE AND GOD DAMN WHY DID IT GRACE MY EYES.

At the sound of his name, Dan blinked, frowning like he was confused and glanced over his shoulder whilst I peered around him.
It was Tonya. Tonya from accounting on the seventeenth floor. (...) Tonya was also smiling at Dan like she knew him really well. Really, really well. Perchance even intimately. I quickly shooed away this unpleasant thought, but then my suspicion was confirmed when, upon reaching us, she lifted to her tiptoes and gave him a quick peck on the lips.

I’m sorry, the scene with Kat and Dan broke my heart so I now hate him. There’s another scene about ten years on where they’re married but STILL. She was PINING for him and she saw him kiss his girlfriend and no, I just can’t. Especially when she was just about to ask the guy out. I don’t like that shit in my romances. I HATE THAT. I DETEST that shit. He’s just a f*cking idiot. I genuinely thought that she’d just heard he was dating but she didn’t witness it. THAT I could live with. I’m sorry guys but if this was in the original book, I would have straight 1 starred it.

I would have been okay if she had a boyfriend and that’s how Dan and her cleared their misunderstanding. Like that’s how he found out that she can do monogamy and was jealous and confused. It’s just! It’s so annoying. I feel like a few of the guys in PR’s book have always been the mover oners or the person in a relationship when they meet their s/o and I’d prefer if the shoe was on the other foot. Mate it just pissed me off big time so I feel like I need to read something safe now because she liked him back big time and you know just as a human being I can’t relate to seeing the guy (I may prospectively date) have been with another girl. Not in my nature.

I was lacking the Scenes from the City bits and decided to splurge on this ebook so I could finally read them. I loved the odds and ends that completed the Kintting series. I also appreciated how some scenes provided much-needed closure on some of my favorite characters and the what happens after questions I had swirling in my head.

After I finished the ebook, I immediately turned around to buy the print copy because 1) I enjoyed the shorts that much, 2) so I wouldn’t be scrambling to find a way to read the book like I did for Scenes in the City, and 3) I now have all the scenes and extras in one handy little place to turn to when I want to reread them.

This is a must read for Penny Reid fans.

I would recommend you read the original books first, this book contains extra scenes that were either deleted or not included in the original released copies, either due to length or distracting from the main thread.

Some of the work included has been previously available via newsletters and on blogs, plus the 'Scenes from the Hallway" book is included but there is also unseen, previously unreleased material.

Each piece of work titles with the couple it's about.

It is a delightful read, really funny, an excellent companion to the Knitting series books.

So many things I loved. We got to revisit old friends, swoon again over what may happen in their futures, or just see things from different perspectives, or how they felt in situations we didn’t quite get in other books.

It was like the deleted scenes in a movie- and I read the header in Penny’s voice as the director commentary.

Best way to cap off a series.

So much love for all of them... Janie & Quinn, Alex & Sandra, Ashley & Drew, Matt & Marie, Greg & Fiona, Elizabeth & Nico and of course, Kat and Dan... although Quinn is the uberalpha, I have a deep and undying love for Dan. Sighs muchly. I also do love ALL of the Winston brothers... but not at the same time... that would be wrong on so so so many levels...

Happy happy sighs... and I would happily read more about these wondrous women... and their magnificent men.

I'll never have enough. This series is amazing, we became like a part of this big family, we know them, we love them... it was so hard to tell them goodbye at the end of Marriage of inconvenience. Neanderthal seeks EXTRA is the "more" we wanted. I especially like the part with Janie and Quinn and the one with Sandra and Alex . Thank you Penny Reid !

After:

I left the best for last. Janie and Quinn's deleted love scene was everything I wanted. Wish it was in their book, sigh. They are still my favourite couple, so I had to re-read the other scenes. I missed them so much. I still hope Penny will give us Neanderthal and Human Seek Baby someday.

The couple I hate most, had the most new scenes. Figures. The only good thing about this being the ending, ending, is that I won't have to read about them ever again. As with Scenes from the City, I skipped their part. Thank you, but no, thanks.

Someone had too much and someone else had nothing. There wasn't any new scene for Ashley/Drew and Marie/Matt. WTF?
Marie and Matt had only one extra scene. Why did Sandra and Alex get a new one written for them and they didn't? WTF???
Marie and Matt deserved better. Much better.

Really loved to be back with Fiona and Greg, my second favourites. Grateful for the new scene, even though it was very short.

Definitely not worth the money, but oh, well...


Before:

I read almost all the extra yarns, in fact only 10-20% will be new content and it will cost A LOT ($6 for an ebook is always too much imo, more so if I've already read 80% of it...),

I Love these characters!!! I keep trying to sort out which of these men I would steal for myself. It's been a tie between Greg and Dan. Don't get me wrong, I love Quinn and am entertained by Matt. Although I enjoy Alex and Nico, neither of them are my type. But I am almost completely positive that Dan is my man. And Kat could find someone else. After all, she is an heiress.
I loved these extra scenes because I am not ready for these stories to be done. This group of friends and their men have been so much fun. I love that these women are smart and capable and their relationships add to their lives not take away from it. They are all capable on their own as well. And their conversations feel like the ones I have with my friends.
