Rusty Whitman gets concerned and goes around the USDA for scientific testing to prove once and for all if Walsanto's corn is responsible for all this mess.
He'll call on some old friends he can trust to keep their mouths shut. At the Forensic Genetics Lab at Clemson University—he'll get answers—one of which is surprisingly personal.
Boyd Craven Jr was born in Flint, Michigan, USA on December 7, 1957. He grew up in a close, country, family environment in Grand Blanc, MI. He went to school there, and at 18, he followed his father's footsteps into a career with General Motors there where he worked for 30 years and 2 days.
Upon retiring at 48 years old, he rediscovered the love for gardening his parents had taught him, raises his own food as much as is practical and enjoys teaching others to do the same. He founded The Urban Rabbit Project to teach others how to add a meat section to their garden, no matter where they live. He published his first book in Kindle Direct Publishing in November 2012 titled "Backyard Meat Rabbits" and discovered that he loves writing too. So, here he is, trying to become a great story teller, by studying daily some of the best ones out there. He can think of no better way to spend the rest of his days, enjoying his retirement!
To think of how realistic this entire disastrous apocalyptic story sounds is very frightening. With good intentions those in charge have caused a future crisis.
Excellent continuation of the series. We are now breaking down the building blocks of CornPlus. I’d it causing green chickens and what else is doing... on to the next book!
So. I am reading Book 4 of Feeding the World and then I come upon this (paraphrasing)" “Well, you know how seed companies add terminator genes to their GMO crops to ensure farmers have to keep buying seeds from them year-on-year?” “Well, terminator genes aren’t supposed to go anywhere. But the terminator gene in Walsanto’s corn…moves up the food chain.”" I thought holy dodo. Then I remembered I was reading a book. I thought where, how did the author come up with the idea of bamboo, algae, growth spurts, salamander eggs, strength in a kernel of corn? I was thinking is this a population killer? Is this how we end our world?
Some books are written to make a statement, to be entertaining, to educate you....and then we have this series. Thank goodness I am just reading a book. Or am I?
This is book 4 in the series and I have purchased the next one. Absolutely can't put down. Being somewhat familiar with gmo research, I found it hilarious combining a widely known chemical company with the other largest retailer. This story may be closer to the truth than you know. Great series.
