Second Fiddle by Alexa Saint is the second book in the bully Hearthstone Academy series. This book features a poor orphan named Cadence who is attending a special college for geniuses on a music scholarship. The book begins almost exactly where the first book ended right before the sophomore year of school. This book can be read as a stand alone even though it is part of a series. This is a wonderful read that is full of many mysteries and lots of unexpected twists and turns. The school featured in this series named Hearthstone Academy and the students who attend it have many secrets. This story focuses on the bullying of Cadence by some of the other students who attend the school and how she deals with this situation that began the very first day she arrived at Hearthstone Academy and how she refuses to give in to the bullies even though some of their attempts to bully her which try to make her leave the school continues throughout the story. This book had me turning page after page to find out what happens next. I love the main character's personality, the other characters quirks, and can't wait to find out what happens next. I loved this book. Second Fiddle is a fantastic paranormal college bully romance.

I really like Cadence! She is the kind of kickass heroine that I love and appreciate! In this newest installment, Cadence returns for her second year and I am pleased to note she has her musical abilities back. Yeah! A better start to this year as compared to the cruelties of the last year, things are looking up already. Very good!

Cade starts the new school year at Heartstone, she refuses to let the bullies get the better of her. She meets up with her best friends Horror and Lorcan, they catch up. Cade will also have to summit to another admissions test for her music, she practiced very hard over her break to play the piece. Her music ability still hasn't returned.
She runs into on of the Gods Jadon, he is completely different than he was last year. He is acts for her forgiveness, he says he loves her. She can't trust or believe him. He isn't the only God that seems to have a change of heart in regards to her either.
The Goddesses are trying to make her life miserable as usual, even getting the Headmaster after her as well. They are making it their mission to get her out of the school.
Cade runs across a statue in the woods, she decides to investiagate it. She finds a list of some that looked into before. She and her friends help her look further into it.
Cade will have her hands full with her school work, trying to keep up in music, dealing with the two Gods, the rest of them. But also they mystery surrounding the book and the information
Cade will open a whole new world, will she be able to survive it.

This book was really good, like seeing Cade come into her own. The slow romance between her and the guys. Also they mystery surrounding her find and what it means for this orphan's life. Ready for book 3
