Everything she'd hoped for has come true. Aimee Donovan's mountain man of her dreams came to 2010 to find her and take her home, and now they can live together forever. But a life two hundred years in the past is filled with challenges. Learning to overcome dangers and discover her calling will be more difficult without modern technology and conveniences of the twenty-first century.
Daniel Osborne has seen the future, and he wants no part of it, except the woman who is his heart song. His life is complete now that she has chosen to live in his familiar Yellowstone wilderness of 1810. With the secrets his father had kept from him now revealed, he is tormented about what to do with the time travel device that has done more good for him than harm.
Daniel and Aimee have no doubt that they want to stay together forever, but knowing they have the ability to travel forward in time if there is a crisis provides a loophole that has good and bad implications. Do they have the courage to rid themselves of the one thing that could save them?

I never thought I'd be a writer, much less publish a book some day. I always wanted to be a veterinarian. I guess life just had other plans for me. When my husband and I decided to start a family, vet school pretty much went out the window. I used to work with a vet who had three children while going through vet school. To this day, she is my hero.
I live with my husband and two teenage sons in southern California. I have a Welsh pony and a miniature horse (down-sized from a barn of six horses). A crazy Labrador retriever who is a food vacuum, three cats, two parakeets, four bearded dragons (my compromise with my sons when they wanted a snake), and a small flock of chickens complete our menagerie of critters. I can’t imagine my life without my animals. My dream is to live in Montana some day.
Four years ago, I began writing a story that, for whatever reason, was stuck in my head for almost a year. I have been an avid romance reader for a long time, and the idea took hold to - why not? - write my own! What a simple idea, right? It has been a long and difficult journey from my first sentence to a completed, and hopefully polished, manuscript. Today, I have a completed series of 5 books and a novella in what I called The Yellowstone Romance Series, two books in my new Second Chances Time Travel Romance Series, and I am currently working on the final book in a trilogy set in the Grand Tetons.
I love the first book (which has around 300 pages and was free) and I usually only read on kindle unlimited so I don’t really like to pay again when I’m already paying once a month. But because I loved the first book so much I just wanted to see what happens with this couple that I love so much (the first book doesn’t end in a cliffhanger so you could definitely read it as a stand-alone). I was really exited that this author had written more books (novellas) with this couple as main leads so u definitely wanted to give it a go. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed, I didn’t really feel like there was any storyline because it was mostly them contemplating how to get rid of the time travel trinket. What was also disappointing was that after finishing this Novella I had more questions than when I started it.
The author hinted that maybe Aimee’s parents have more in common with Daniel than we though. Aimee many time throughout the book was talking about how her parents loved Yellowstone and it always seemed like there was more to it. Also when they finally got rid of the snake skin time travel trinket Aimee thought she saw a “familiar-looking Indian standing at the bottom of the canyon”, was she taking about Running Elk? Did Running Elk follow them because he was curious when Daniel was so reluctant to talk to him about where he found Aimee? Or was the “familiar looking Indian” someone else?
As you see I have a lot of questions and it was so frustrating that I didn’t get answers to any of them by the end of this novella. I really don’t want to spend more money on this series if I don’t for certain know my questions will be answered.

Aimee Donovan was ripped from the past and brought back to her time in the future even though she had decided Daniel Osborne was her future. Daniels father Zach gave her no options... She lived through a severe depression in the following months, only to be surprised again with another visit from Zach, this time with an injured Daniel in tow. Can Daniel forgive Aimee for her deception and the months she kept the truth from him? Will they find the love they shared again? Each are faced with intense feelings. They must be able to gain trust in each other before they can find their future together. A great reunion book. One I highly recommend!
I have just finished book two and looking forward to book 3. Peggy has done a great job writing these books. I love the Yellowstone area and Peggy makes everything seem so real.
I read the first book with relish, but this second one is a let down. There is no story to speak of. Mainly it is about Daniel and Aimee wanting to rid themselves of the relic and his showing other men that nobody touches his wife. I was so disappointed.
Interesting story in the beatiful Yelllowstone where a man teaches his wife about survival, after he realised her father had taught her some skills as well. So looking forward to reading more about this Couple and their adventures.
This is an engaging historical/modern tale with a time-travel twist. It is very nicely written, with interesting character portrayals and mostly well-developed historical settings. There are a few historical gaffs in the dialogue, but overall, it is an enjoyable book.
Anyone who's read Yellowstone Heartsong (and you should read that before this novella if you haven't), and indeed any of the rest of the books in the Yellowstone Romance series, will know that Daniel and Aimee live happily ever after together and go on to raise a family. This novella gives us a wonderful insight into how they began that Happily Ever After. Anyone who's been married or in a long term relationship will know that it's not always easy learning to live together and to adapt to sharing your life with another person, no matter how much you love each other. But what if one half of the couple comes from a different century?
Peggy Henderson gives an insightful, interesting, and fun account of how Daniel and Aimee adapt to their life as Mr and Mrs Osborne. Daniel has to learn how to help Aimee be herself, but be safe in early nineteenth century Yellowstone. And Aimee has to find a way to feel that her life has the meaning and purpose she wants it to, all while learning to be a modern girl in the world of two centuries earlier. And then, of course, there's the time travel device...
I'm not quite sure how Mrs Henderson manages to fit so much story into a novella! As well as following Daniel and Aimee's journey as a couple we also get opportunity to meet up with some old friends and to see the beauty of Yellowstone in autumn. There are also plenty of little snippets which will either whet your appetite if you haven't read the rest of the series, or cause a variety of emotions as you think about their significance in relation to the other books.
I highly recommend Return to Yellowstone and I loved reading every word.
This series is amazing!! I was captivated from the first book!! It was such a thrill to read what happened when Aimee came back to the past. Peggy Henderson is an amazing writer! I am so glad that I found her books!
This novella gives a wonderful glimpse at the lives of my favorite couple in the series. I am positive that if I was faced with the same choice, I wouldn't have been as brave as Daniel and Aimee. I would have gone the same route as Zach....
We get to revisit with old friends, Daniel and Aimee. We get to see more of them and their story. The description of Yellowstone makes you want to go visit the National Park again in our time. This was the first couple we read about in this fascinating series.(Yellowstone Heart Song) I highly recommend this novella to all who love this series and for those just starting after the first book. Great writing as always! Great story telling and Great story!
Another hit over the fences for this author. Peggy takes us back not to the beginning of Yellowstone Heart Song but more to where the first story ended with Daniel coming to find his beloved Aimee in the future and bringing her home. Then the training to teach her survival tactics in the wilderness. The biggest part is how to get rid of the time travel device for good. They first have dilemmas of feeling they may need it again like Daniel's Father did, but also wanting to take that temptation away for good. I loved this beautiful story as I have all of the stories in the Yellowstone series. Complex characters, still action, still romance meant for two people should were supposed to find each other as they were meant to be. Anyone who read any of the books in The Yellowstone series by Peggy L Henderson will love this short novella that just expands on the first and most heartfelt story in this series. If you have never read anything in this series your should as you are in for a most unusual yet beautiful story line that will continue on. I highly recommend these books which are now the first two. You won't regret it.
I'v not ever written a review abt a book before, but Yellowstone Heart Song and Return to Yellowstone is a first for me. I'v always skipped over time travel books, but when I came across Yellowstone Heart Song free I started reading reviews from readers and something pulled at me to read Heart Song and I am so happy I followed my instinct. It was beautifully written . Peggy made Daniel and Aimee come to life . It didn't feel like a time travel story. The way she explained Yellowstone through Daniel's eyes and then Aimee's eyes made me fell like I was part of the story. If you've haven't thought abt reading TT before, do yourself a favor and get Yellowstone Heart Song while it's still free. You won't regret it. My only regret is I can't afford Yellowstone Christmas. I'm sure it is well worth the price but for 2.99 and being a novella with less than 100 pages I'm sorry to say I can't afford it. I'm tempted I truly am because missing their 1st Christmas together breaks my heart song. Sorry couldn't resist putting that in their.
I loved this Novella about two of my favorite characters in the Yellowstone Romance Series! It's an additional story about Daniel and Aimee and a treat from the author to her fans . Well Written as always and a joy to sit down with. Start with Yellowstone Heart Song, the first book in the Yellowstone Romance Series, free at this time. It's a complete story of its own, than you can continue with this one to see a little of their lives in the wilderness of Yellowstone. JudyE
This series is so incredibly written you never ever want it to be over with and this novella is a prime example of how Daniel and Aimee's story get better with each iWork. Bravo Peggy Henderson!
I just love the two main characters and wish this sequel was a little longer. I would enjoy more stories about how they made their way through living in that time period. Guess I will have to re-read a few of the follow-up stories that include them some.
Having just finished reading "Heart Song", it was very special to have a wonderful ending to the story of the amulet. I it was well written as have all her stories. Since it was so short, why not put it in the first book other than to sell it separately?
A bit disappointed after reading heart song. While it was nice to continue on it fell very flat for me. Too many references to previous book. It should have either been tagged onto the first book, or onto the following book.
I have read this one a second time to refresh my memory. After reading the last 3 books in this series I will be re reading with new information. Peggy's stories are great homecation.
I loved this book I did not want to stop reading it. Can't want to read the next book. I wish things like this could happen. Many people feel like they belong in another era
