Quintessence #2

Healed by Them

Rate this book
She’s their missing piece…but is it all too easily broken?

-

Pulitzer-winning writer Kurt Yeller has always been the observer. And what he’s observed since Sascha brought her joyful energy into the house—even as she recovers from a near-miss hit-and-run—is nothing short of a miracle.

Devon, the insomniac, sleeps soundly in her arms. Sawyer’s heartbreak-shuttered eyes are warming with his old fire. Sean’s natural caution is melting. Passion is this close to penetrating Andrei’s shields. Sascha is becoming more than a shared bed partner. She’s something precious and irreplaceable.

When an explosion destroys a ballroom hours before Sascha and Andrei were to attend an awards’ gala, Sean turns his brilliant mind to figuring out who among the guest list was the intended target. In Kurt’s opinion, a disturbing trend is developing.

Four days ago, a hit-and-run almost killed Sascha. Today, she and Andrei could have been blown to bits. If bad Scheisse comes in threes, there’s a chance the third time won’t be a charm.

Note: Healed by Them is part two of a ten-part story. Contains polyamorous romance and a cliffhanger ending leading into the next installment.

I think this Harem has started to gain my attention. I feel more connected with our male leads and I feel there is more sexual attraction than the first book delivered.

My head doesn't appreciate the banging but my pussy probably would

description

I like that there are different twists and turns and they are a little different and new. I feel it was well researched and interested to note. I think the story would have worked better with a longer timeline. such as a "two weeks later" . but you do start to really connect with characters.. and I think as a reader you choose your favorite male lead. I don't get the vibe that this book is about Kurt but I think what the author means is that is who we learn the most about in the story.

This book is good. The ending wasn't nearly as amazing as book 1... but book 1 gave me such whiplash that I swear book 2 was going to end in two different spots and I was getting so nervous haha. Cant wait to join my harem again and be seduced... I feel the sex scenes are going to get more emotional, intimate and dirty

I am really loving this series.

And I think it is almost all about that characters and the tone of the book/mise-en-scène. Because there still isn't a lot of story to this story. However, there is a mystery building, so I think the author intends to complicate the plot. Hopefully that means things are only getting better!

The characters are complex and sweet, and I adore their interactions. And the dialogue is hilarious at times. I mean, how can you not smile at things like this:
Sawyer, as he dosed himself up with spaghetti, murmured, “I’ll go with you, lass. I hate doctors too. They give me the willies.”

She blinked at that, then snorted. Even though she was uncomfortable with the topic of conversation, she had to laugh. “The willies? What the fuck are they?”

“Not penises,” Devon informed her. “It’s a phrase.”
*still laughing*

I wouldn't call this the best thing I've ever read, but it is precisely what I needed right now and it is enjoyable, fun, and feel good . It is well worth a read!

UPDATE PROGRESS NOTES:
45.0% "discomfited, not discomforted"

44.0% "Wasn't there a whole big deal made earlier about how they didn't really have friends other than the five of them? Family, okay and they'd said that was full of strife. But the friends thing seems a continuity problem to me."

42.0% "Ooo nice! Apparently this may not just be a sweet, sexy love story. Looks like maybe we get some mystery and intrigue too :) (I hope!)"

11.0% "LOL...okay "the [bruises] highlighted her creamy fragility"...what the heck is 'creamy fragility' anyway?"

1.0% "I must say, I really love the covers for this series. They are unique and interesting (in large part due to the interesting, freckled face of the model, I am sure). Bravo!"

3.5 stars! it's still good, but there's definitely something lacking. A little more depth to the characters maybe?

not sure how seeing your mom getting killed in front of you makes you not scared that you were gonna be in a building that exploded but you do you I guess.

I don't think this author has any idea of how to show romantic relationship building thats so essential to RH.

Clues:
1. Its not just about sex
2. Its NOT comparing the h to the H's many exes and showing how different, how much better she is, ad nauseum.

Learn to write romance, and stop with the mention of the exes!

Notes:

I'm glad this series is finished. The books are episodic and always end on a "cliffhanger" type of ending. Lame! Only good thing is that I can go into the next book immediately. =P

I loved this book! There weren't any extra scenes or boring parts. It was short and sweet and I loved that. I know that when I pick up one of the installments in this series, I will finish it quickly and I know that I will want to read the next one. They are always fun and leave me begging for more when I am finished.
I like Sascha. She has such a unique style and I enjoy being in her head. I like seeing her different perceptions of each of the guys and I like watching her interact with each of them.
We got a little more of Kurt in this installment and I can't say that I am disappointed with his character development. Up until now, he has been background noise so it was interesting to see him take the spotlight.
I love all of the guys and find the dynamic between them really interesting. One thing this series really focuses on is the concept of family and not letting other people tell you what family is. I love that about this series and I like how it is constantly reconfirmed that while Sascha is in a relationship with all of them, they are all still a family.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. This is such a fun and easy series to read. I will definitely be continuing the series with the next book, Worshipped by Them .

3.5 stars because the h acted stupidly and I think, out of character. The story has become a mystery, with H badly injured and the Hs have reason to believe it's not an accident. The Hs respect and like her, she's kind and caring. Because of their lifestyle choices, they've been hurt by family and lovers, so they like her thoughtfulness. What I didn't like was her being stubborn about seeing a doctor, this felt wrong and out of sync with her being portrayed as practical and smart. I hope she finds her brain in the next book.

- Heroine: Sascha
- Harem: Sean, Sawyer, Kurt, Andrei, Devon
- POVs Included: Multiple POVs (Sascha, Kurt)
- Book Playlist (Reverse Harem Romance Playlist)

-----------------------------------
-----------------------------------
SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

After Sascha was hit by a car while trying to save a little boy from being hit, she is taken to the hospital. Thankfully she only seems to have a concussion and a broken wrist.

As the guys try to help nurse her back to health, they all grow closer. But Sascha is frustrated with her temporary invalid status.

Threats also seem to be coming at them when the venue for the gala Sascha was supposed to go to with Andrei was blown up. And the guys are hiding some important information from Sascha to keep her from getting too stressed out — it seems like someone might be trying to kill her.

REVIEW:

Another good one! I enjoyed seeing Sascha and the guys grow closer in this one. I loved their banter and seeing how she connects individually with each of them. The relationship building in this series is pretty good!

I also like that we are staring to get some background about each of the guys too.

And the mystery about who is trying to kill Sascha is interesting! I have a feeling it has to do with one of the guys’ exes. Maybe Janna.

The only thing about this one is that it seems to end in a weird place. Not a cliffhanger per se, but just like the middle of a scene. I’m not sure how these were originally released, but it seemed like an odd place to end this part of the story.

Overall though I’m still enjoying these. I love the bromance between the guys, I love the relationship building and how open and honest they all are. Devon takes some getting used to, but I like the rest of the guys. Looking forward to seeing where the story goes!

Don't let the three star rating fool you, I am still loving this series, so.far however, following my book resolution, I have to give my honest thoughts.

I am just going to point out the MAJOR issue this book had.

In the first.book, the narrative was dual based. Mainly between Sean and Sascha. I think there may have been one other person but for the.most part it was just their narratives.

In book two, there are.several narratives and I think the author overwhelmed themselves because at times, we lose the plot of WHOSE narrative it is.

I compare it to walking into a crowded room and everyone in that room, with their own personality and voices, screaming all the.narratives at once.I

There were times when it was supposed to be Kurt "talking/thinking" but then Sascha would overlap and it became confusing.
Then it started happening more and more often.
With other characters.

This is Why it is almost imperative to assign names to each chapter. So you and your audience knows who is supposed to be in the.narrative position.

This is another pet peeve of mine....

Also, for some reason, although the.narratives are in.multiple POV...it has more of a three party feel to the.narrative... Like someone ELSE is telling the story via their minds.

Anyway, I got the 1-5 book pack, so, I am off to read the.next.book!

As Sascha is recuperating from her freak accident she is getting to know her men on a deeper level, especially Kurt and his ex wife Katrin. Sean is learning that her accident and Andrei's Galas incident are not coincidences after all. There might be more behind the mastermind and he is more than ever to find out the meaning but the common element seems to be Sascha, the woman they all seem to be falling in love with.

Serena's transitions within each of the men and female POV was on par and intrigued me to know more. This is a wonderful sexy 4 Star read and of course, Serena ends it with a door wide open and I am stunned again. I can't wait for the next instalment... Worshipped by Them.

Somehow I am completely enjoying this series so far.

It has some storyline evolving. I love all the guys, they are so fun and how they interact with each other, just so well written.

If I would complain I don't like this weird comparisons like "... He's like students on LSD ice-skating." And there are many of those. I'm not fan of that. Sometimes it's okay, I mean I use them but it's not funny when they are on every second sentence. So that annoyed me quite a bit. Also long ranting about feelings and are they feelings? It hasn't started to annoy but I hope it will not continue like that.

Overall I'm in love with those 5 brilliant guys.

Great read

WoW 🔥 and the story continues and getting better . I don't usually read a book that has cliffhangers but took a chance on this series. Boy am I glad I did ! I don't think this would be as good without the break down into more then one book . Even though I'm reading one after the other as they've all been published. That gives me a place to stop lol because I can't stop reading it's that good . Ok now I have to read the next book . It's getting intense and I'm getting more excited to read the next book !

Secon part of this story was entertaining and interesting, we found out more about Sascha's men, and a little about her. The plot is thickening with Kurt and his ex. Sean is on the hunt for a would be murder. Yes, a second cliffhanger, frustrating.

My only peeve is that this would be much better as a box set or one big book.

I've enjoyed the writing style so far, I like how the author is developing the characters and there interactions to Sascha's and each other.

I'm definitely going to read more of this series and this author.

I really don’t know what to say except squueeaaaallll! I am loving this series something fierce and at the detriment of my housework am feeling the need to read it as quickly as possible. I am really enjoying the storyline and I absolutely adore the characters, Devon is a real sweetie I love his simple inability to be normal, and the other guys just make me swoon. I think Sascha is a great heroine and I am so excited to see what happens next

Still really liking this series

I am still enjoying this modern story of Snow White where Snow is replaced by a snarky housekeeper, and the Seven Dwarfs are five hot nerds. I like all of the main characters, but I wish this were not in such short parts. I felt that not as much was accomplished in this section other than sex, and I needed more of the plot to move forward. That said, I fully intend to keep reading when the next section comes out on 4/29/18

I was waiting for another book by Ms. Akeroyd to come out so I decided to try this series! I’m so glad I did! I finished all 5 books in a matter of days.
Sascha was a great heroine; quirky, funny, and lovable (as all 5 guys find out). All the guys are eye candy and each have their own personalities, but you will be laughing out loud at Devon’s words and responses to everyday things. Be prepared, each book ends with a major cliffhanger until you get to Book 5, but it’s worth it!

A good, if somewhat short read. Continuing on with the relationships developing between Sascha and the 5 man of the household. We get to learn a bit more about Kurt in this episode and things continue to develop between Sean and Sascha. I like that she is all about helping the guys and developing a secure relationship with them. Now onto book 3 as I think the brown stuff is about to hit the proverbial fan!

Kindle. Lowest four basically three. At this point the story was just getting too long for me with just not enough juice. It had the potential to be so cute and entertaining but it started losing my interest. Again initially I didn’t realize that it was books put together from each guys perspective. I would have preferred to read each book separately and then decided if I would continue. Which made me stop after the third book with lack of attention.

More suspense and loving!

This second installment of a five book series gets better and better. Filled with more suspense, mystery, and hot loving that made for an entertaining and enjoyable read. You need to read this series if you want to start on a reverse harem story like no other.

The second book in the series and it start basically where the first book ended.

The book focuses on the aftermath of what happens in book 2 and the reader also finds out more about the background of the guys and Sasha. Her relationship with them deepens. Just as the plot thickens.

If you ask me if I have a favorite I couldn’t really tell you. Just like Sasha I like them all

This story picks up shortly after book 1, so I would recommend reading them in order. Sascha is healing after getting hit. I liked seeing the guys caring for her. We also get to learn more about Kurt. There are some twists and a mystery that emerge. I’m glad the series is out so I can immediately jump in to book 3!
