Sarah Langston owns the store "Sarah's Secrets" and when she catches Angie Peters she immediately calls in her parents, knowing that the girl needs help and not to be punished. There is something about Angie that makes Sarah want to protect her so she asks Angie to work in her store with her.
Scott Delano comes to pick up Angie and is somewhat angry at Sarah for not recognizing him from high school. He agrees to let Angie work with Sarah but it's obvious he still wants to stay as far away from Sarah as possible.
When Sarah begins to get weird phone calls and pictures sent to her it is clear she has a stalker. Although Scott is trying to keep as much distance between them as possible it is also clear he wants to keep her safe from whomever is after her. As Sarah and Scott begin to get closer, the police begin to narrow in on a subject and will Scott's secrets cause him to be charged?
This is probably my favorite book in this series and one of my favorite ever written by the author.
In the first book I really didn't care for Sarah but by the end of the book and in book two I began to like her more and more. In this book you learn so much more about her and realize that she has gone through so much and it is no wonder that she keeps to herself and her very close friends. I can't imagine going through what she did and everything with her family.
Scott begins the book as such a jerk and it was obvious that he really judged Sarah from the past in high school and thought she had a perfect life. I wasn't clear what was going on with him and Vanessa, Angie's mom, but their relationship was not conventional. I understood why Scott felt he had to be there for Angie but at the same time it was a little weird as she was his brother's daughter and not his. That being said it was perfect for the book and how everything went.
There was so much chemistry between Scott and Sarah but at the same time it was more than that with Scott's obvious dislike of Sarah and how she was in the past, or more how he perceived her to be. Yet Scott was so jealous over Sarah's close friend Brett Carlton. Scott wanted Sarah but he knew he had secrets that she couldn't find out.
I was not expecting the things with Angie and her baby but I liked how it tied everything in together. My heart broke for her but she was definitely realistic about everything and I really liked that.
The stuff with Sarah's family blew my mind and I can't imagine what she and her brother, Sean, had to go through growing up as there was no communication at all. It made other things, like Sarah's eating habits, make complete sense and I was just so broken reading about what she had to deal with on her own.
Stalker was so freaky and I can't believe how close the person got to her on so many occasions. I was glad that Scott always took the threats seriously and was there for her.
Towards the end I was worried about everything that was going on between Sarah and Scott but I knew why Sarah had to leave. When Sarah comes back I was blown away by what I learned and I was so mad!! I do really think Vanessa took complete advantage of Scott and it really made me mad!
The very end was awesome and I loved the way it ended!!
Looking forward to the next one!
