The day Brandi chose Toya over her now ex-husband Quan she thought her life was going to fall into place. She wasn’t prepared for the consequences that came with falling in love with her husband's best friend. The betrayals and the deaths that came along with the decisions she made leaves not only her hurt but also her twin daughters Riah and Niah. No, she doesn’t regret falling in love with Toya, but with everything that has happened she wishes she would have gone about it another way, so she could avoid the tears and heartbreak, but it was too late. Quan, Toya and Brandi’s love triangle leaves not only one of them dead but leaves somebody close to all of their hearts six feet under.
Yes Brandi could have gone about things in an entirely different manner but so could have Quan. He'd reached the decision to leave before he knew Brandi's true feelings. Once revealed he could have gone off to California and lived his life secure in the knowledge that his assertion was right and he and Brandi no longer belonged together. The baby dying was the most horrific tragedy of the entire story that had the power to change them all for the better, instead it brought out the worst. Excellent, although long awaited ending.
It was messed up how Tasha switched up at the last minute. Brandi ended up being down for minute but bounced back. Toya been by her side no matter what. Quan's biggest down fall been women. First, it was Tasha that got him caught up and then Erika. Because of that, Riah got caught in the cross fire. Eventually, he got what he deserved. I really enjoyed reading this book.
