My past is riding my back. I can still hear them chanting my name— Beau James, Beau James. I’m not the Beau James Dalton everyone rooted for. The man I love lost his life at my hands. I don’t deserve redemption after what I’ve done. I certainly don’t belong in a boxing ring. I left my heart in that ring that night. At least, I thought I did.

I can’t live my life like this. I’m a Marine. I was built to survive and conquer. Still, I know I’m not the same Angel. That last tour took the biggest chunk out of me, and I’m fighting every day just to keep my head above water. My twin brother has offered me a chance to catch my breath at the gym he works for. I’ve been staying my nights there. Well, that’s until his boss, Beau, walks in and finds me in the shower after hours.

We both need a lifeline. Interestingly enough, an unexpected special little someone may be just what we both need to heal enough to move on. Or will PTSD get the best of us all?

This is a damn good story, but I’m going to warn you now, it’s full of possible triggers. I’m not trying to give much away, but want anyone with triggers to be prepared. One MC was a Marine and has flashbacks, triggers, PTSD and so much more that pertains to being in a war zone. The other main MC, was a boxer that retired after a punch killed an opponent. There is PTSD, nightmares and so much more with him. There is also a special little girl they get to know, who deals with attempted rape, neglect, beatings, abuse and so much more. I don’t want to give away the story but readers need to be aware. This story pulls no punches. It’s real, it’s harsh and it’s a way of life for many.
The main message to this story, though, is never give up hope and never give up fighting. Even at the lowest points of your life, when you want to kill yourself or whatever, you have to keep fighting. Find something worth getting up for and fighting, then learn to fight for yourself.
For Angel, Beau and a little special girl that comes into their lives, you will see, nightmares are a way of life. For Angel, it’s a bit more as certain noises can trigger him badly. For Beau, he loves boxing and teaching, but can’t step in a ring without losing it. But one thing they have is interest in each other. But with all that triggers them both, they can’t move forward or have a lasting relationship they want without help. Angel is hesitant at first, but is determined to fight to keep going and live, instead of just surviving. For Beau, he’s been in therapy before and stopped. Immersed in other projects, he thought he could block it all out. Until the projects stopped. And it takes a special little girl to get him to see what he really needs to do. In every way. But even with therapy, life is not always perfect. It’s an everyday struggle. An every day fight. And they have to decide. Do they let the past defeat them or do the come out fighting as champs?
The message is so clear in this one. Don’t give up. And believe me, it’s easier said than done. What works for some, doesn’t work for others. What triggers some, don’t trigger others. Everyone is different, every way of coping is different. As long as you keep fighting and keep trying, that’s what counts. It doesn’t mean there aren’t setbacks or whatever. It just means it was a bad day and tomorrow is a new one. It’s hard as hell. Knowing one little thing could make you step back 10 steps to the one you took forward. And for these guys, they had those days. And often. But they kept getting back up, kept fighting. Because in order to get their dreams, they knew they had to be ok themselves to be ok for others. Like I said, it doesn’t mean there aren’t days of setbacks. But they recognized what was important in their lives and what they needed to do for themselves to keep it important and not throw it away.
It’s a hard story to read, but it’s worth it. I know most everyone considers this an HEA, but for me it’s more of an almost HEA, because not every day will be happy. You’ll see what I mean. Don’t take what the good you have for granted. And keep fighting every day.

Loving Redemption

I love Royal Blue's descriptive writing. This book paints a picture that stimulates your imagination and touches your emotions. Beau and Angel's trauma and their shared PTSD pulls you into their story that grabs and hold your attention. I love the surrounding characters with their unique personalities. The storyline flows well with the creatively defined story that details Beau and Angel's struggles. The secret betrayal from Beau's past surfaces along with challenges to overcome guilt from a past action. We see the immediate attraction and unmistakable connection between Beau and Angel. The support, understanding for what each has suffered definitely portrays my brothers keeper. This book is heartwarming and intense with its well written plot. I enjoyed how we see Beau and Angel work through forgiving themselves and accepting things they could not change. Learning to love themselves for who they are, to face demons and fears from their past and work through them. This storyline is full of love, the bond of friendship and the loyalty of family and friends. This book is a work of art with words, plots and visualization. Add this book to your library. You will be glad you did.

Fantastic!

Just like a fine wine that's been aged this story is good and going give you a heady feeling. From the beginning we two people fighting to make it one day at a time without sinking into the abyss. You up the ante and introduce a young person who touches you in so many ways. This is and was a well written story that deals with a quite a few heavy subjects and Ms. Blue handles it all with the sure hand of a master painter. So looking forward to the next installment because I know it's going to be just as good.

That's a "Yeah!" from me

I bought this because I am familiar with Blue Saffire's work and I expected something different because of the name. I missed the part that said this was an IT gay male romance. I have tried before with gay male romance but could never get beyond a few chapters. This is well-written and insightful. The character fully developed. The story is unexpectedly good. I look forward to the next.

Intense and Emotional

I don't want to give away any spoilers,so just read the book. I loved this as much if not more than Kyle's Reveal. The support system within these group of guys is phenomenal. I am so looking forward to Jordan's story. Beau, Angel and Billy are a perfect family.

This author is one of my favourites so I decided t read her ventures into M/M romance. Whilst I loved both books in this series and about the love that the couples and their extended families share with each the other, the love scenes were a little too much for me. They went on and on for pages and if you are not use to same sex love it can be a bit much. I found myself skipping pages. So whilst I enjoyed the love story, the intimate scenes were too much for this reader.

Redemption
I loved this book just as much as I loved Kyle's story. My heart went out to Beau, Angel and Billy. They were all fighting demons in their own way. I love how they were each other's back bone and was always there for one another. I knew as soon as Billy call Beau daddy everything was gonna click into place. This was an awesome story.💗💗

Enjoyed…

I enjoyed this book as much as the first. I loved the journey of Beau and Angel. They both were dealing with past traumatic events in their lives. But both determined to push through and support each other. I loved the bond between them and little Billy. The bond between their family and friends were strong and added to the story.

Love has no colour

We really don't have a choice on who we love. This book made me laugh, cry, awww and ooh la la more times than I can remember in a book. As someone who has GAD (General Anxiety Disorder) this read brought it very close to home. Everyday is a struggle but made easier when surrounded by people that you love and love you. Gay, straight, black or royal blue we all deserve a little slice of heaven in whatever shape or form. I fell in love with this author's work being so diverse and touching the topics that are hard. This book gives you insight to two people who are broken and vulnerable and sharing it with each other they are put back together with some great Billy glue. If you're a hopeless romantic and open to diversity of life then do yourself a favour and get this book. While I'm not American in the spirit of the location of where this book is set and it's service men and women to their country OORAH!!!!!

While this is not my normal go to type of read, this author really out did herself with this story and gave you an inside look at three souls who overcame their pain with love and acceptance. Beau’s redemption will pull at your heartstrings as you move along the pages.

Beau fought his attraction to Angel for all of two minutes, even though he vowed never to love again after his first relationship ended tragically by his hand, both found and the will to fight their respective demons together. Something is missing for this duo, a little girl who is smart has a whip with trust issues a mile long and canyon wide.

The best line in this story is “The gods have chosen my path,” Mason points to Billy. “She was created for me. For the love of Zeus, she’s not my cousin.”
