Another good read!

Just love the way she writes, thinks and cusses! Love that everyone jumps in to help, even though they don't know the whole story.

𝐽𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑎 𝐻𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑦 𝐶𝑎𝑚𝑝𝑒𝑟, Book #11 in the Hetta Coffey Series
by Jinx Schwartz

Some Spoilers, so read further at your own risk.

This episode was full of fun and danger. Hetta's yacht, the Raymond Johnson, is in the shop for repairs. But the Trob has gotten her a cushy job back in her home state of Texas, examining and discussing engineering work to be done on dams in the area of her parents' home. She gets an RUV, a small car/toad, a large salary and expense account. She takes off with Trouble and Po Thang in tow. However, of course, the adventure hits many a snag along the way. How will she get Trouble across the border, as his species of bird is persona non grata in the States? How will the Texas population who live along the rivers and lakes that make up the flood plain take to the ideas Hetta and her crew of Dutch engineers are putting together? And, to top it all off, someone is following in her footsteps, stopping wherever she has just been and asking how to find her. Then, she gets a call from Jenks telling her that her yacht has been stolen (at least the thief paid her bill)!

Soon, the whole gang, plus some, are back together, on the dusty Baja trail of the thiefs, who turn out to be Nacho and Becky's mysteriously missing fiance, Jeff. We have Roger, Craig, Jan, Becky, Jackie, Chino (and his kayaking group of whaling students, Jean Luc, and Hetta's long lost secret son, Antoine (IKR?) with back up from Jenks by satellite and security system, and, of course, Po Thang, Trouble, and Becky's dog, Scruffy, all racing toward a dangerous entanglement with a terrorist group bent on dismantling the Mexican government. Thrills and chills abound. One of the crew is a traitor -- who will it turn out to be?

This was an e-book I got free on Amazon. It's #11 in the series and as far as I remember, I haven't read others in the series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but there are a lot of characters and it was a bit confusing. There are also references to past events that are not fully explained in this book.

That said, I don't see myself seeking out others in the series.

The main character, Hetta Coffey, owns a yacht. She's American (Texan) but in Mexico on her yacht. She leaves the yacht for repairs and returns to Texas to assist hydrologists (most of whom are Dutch) with a survey. Then her yacht is stolen.

Honestly, I didn't find much redeeming in the characters (other than the dog).

Somehow, Hetta manages to cross her bird over the Mexico-US border not once, but at least twice illegally without being caught with the help of her friends.

Anthrax is afoot but no one seems too concerned.

What a romp this one is! Hetta's boat is appropriated by a friend(?) without her knowledge. Okay at least he paid the bill at the boat yard--but--and it seems he has a friend's boyfriend with him.

The entire crew of Hetta'a friends end up helping her-even her boyfriend who is overseas.

It turns into a real fiasco when the people that her boat is following are a bunch of gun and drug runners!!

On a happy note Hetta had a son way back when and he found her--now she has to tell the father!!

This one really had me going and I honestly read it in one reading--lots of twists and turns and as in all the Hetta Coffey novels plenty of laughs as well.

I’m not sure what genre I would place Just A Happy Camper in, most likely Cozy Mysteries. It’s a page turner fueled by its zany characters. It’s an entertaining read that defies one’s ability to suspend disbelief. If you are looking for a story with a realistic plot and with characters that you will identify with, this book is not for you. If you looking for a quick and entertaining read, allowing you to escape the grips of reality as you read, this book is for you. Just A Happy Camper is a pure spoof. I enjoyed the read. Would I read it again? Probably not, because hard core thrillers are my genre of choice.

I normally love the reads Jinx Schwartz writes, but to be truthful, the last two books she has wrote are disappointing. It appears that stories aren't of her usual level of quality. They seem to have a script that is shorter than the pages in the book offer. Maybe she needs to sell the RV and spend more time on her boat. If not, maybe start writing short stories. Sorry Jinx, I was always excited to get the latest book of yours, but I think I have lost that desire and will need to find the next upcoming author.

This the 11th Book in the series and I have read them all. I love the writing and don’t seem to be able to put the books down with out finishing them. Hetta is in an RV having adventures with her dog “Po thing” and bird “Trouble” who she refers to as her kids. I was heartened when she reconnects with her son she had given up for adoption 20 years before while in college in France. Loved the characters and dialogue as usual. Recommended

Another great Hetta Adventure

Loved the new adventure!! Thanks, Jinx for writing another adventure, it’s such an enjoyable time when I get to read your books. It seems moving to an RV from your boat hasn’t stopped you thinking up great plots for Hetta. Fun and well written adventures with humour are the hallmarks of a Jinx book and this one definitely fits the bill. Now I am eagerly awaiting the next one!!

This is the 11th in the series and the first time reading this author. The main character is Hetta Coffey who has put her yacht in for r[airs and it is taken without her knowledge. With the help of her boyfriend Jinx and friends, she tries to track down her boat. When she finds it there are even more problems they have to face first. Can she figure everything out before it's to late?

Another Winner from Jinx

As innocent as Hetta's escapades start out, Just A Happy Camper has more than enough twists, turns, and new characters to keep you engaged and waiting for the next shoe, or anchor, to drop. Join Hetta, the boat thieves, and her rag-tag team of cohorts in this wild Tex-Mex land and sea adventure!

romance, action and comedy

The animal sidekicks provide most of the humor. The love/hate relationship between several men and Hetta is very on off. Who would let their newly found son go on dangerous trips? How does everyone involved have such a deep friendship with little trust

surprises and shockers didn’t see coming

For other Hetta Coffey fans, book 11 is jam packed with shockers and surprises that were mindddddd blowing!

Hetta had some gigantic surprises I never dreamed would happen.

Hetta, Jan and the gang with some new additions take on one of the cartels (unplanned of course).

An entertaining book and an absolutely worthwhile read

Best and Most Dangerous Adventure Yet.

Hetta discovers a grown son! She gets to work in Texas for a while and most of this book is set in an RV. Then her boat is stolen from dry dock and a new adventure begins. There are crooks trying to take over Mexico by killing 80% of the population with a trailer full of Anthrax and a home made Submarine to contend with.

Hetta is back!

Another great read from Jinx Schwartz! In trouble, out of trouble and usually back into it. And now a son! If you enjoy a little mystery read with lots of humour and great characters, this is a book for you!

HETTA and her posse are as harebrained as usual, Po Thang and Trouble are more than happy to be along for the ride, and Jenks & Nacho are still the tolerant “professional” consultants as usual.
Hetta’s adventures are always a joy to read.

What a romp!

Well that took a turn, and then another. I will admit I got this book as a free download and had not read any of the previous books in the series, but after being confused at the beginning because I thought it was a different series, I thought it was awesome.

Hetta on Land?

Finally on a job for which Hetta can utilize her Engineering degree, not to mention close to home, Hetta has an opportunity to dry dock for much needed repairs on the Raymond Johnson. Of course nothing is simple with Hetta. Meet Jackie, Becky, Jeff and Antoine.

Each one better than the last

Absolutely love Hetta and her friends, especially Po Thang and Trouble. Each book seems better than the last, though I am not sure how that's possible.

Okay

This was an okay book, but just not my style. It was very long and had too many words that I didn't understand. I usually avoid books that are set in other countries because I only read English.

Hetta never lets you down!

Just a Happy Camper continues all the shenanigans we have come to love and expect from Hetta Coffey and crew. Jinx Schwartz never lets you down. I highly recommend all the books in this series!

This was intriguing story. Millie was quite a character & fun to travel with. Getting the bad mouthed parrot across the border was surprisingly easy. The story of the theft of Millie's boat & recovery was surprising & fun. Enjoyed every minute of this book.

Another corker from Jinx Schwartz

This time Hetta is in Texas working on dams. There are surprises galore for Miz Hetta. All her friends join her at various stages. Thoroughly enjoyable and fast paced Hettas troubles t this time are not her doing.
