I love Gabriel so much. Who would have thought that my favorite character would be the FMC's father? This is closely followed up by Bastian because he's just so weird that I love it.

Also,

Sigh, I hope Callan has to grovel a lot in the next book before he gets back into the good graces.

And finally,

I'm so glad reverse harem is one of those genres where you don't have to wait long (most of the time) to read the next book. Here, I started reading when all three installments were already published so it's even better. I don't have to wait to start reading the finale and I'm so happy. I love to binge-read series in one go.

I have to say some things about this series are predictable and makes my eyes roll. Like the whole secret society trope. Each scene with the Order feels a bit ridiculous and convenient and the writing seems a bit juvenile in those moments. Other than that, it kept me entertained and the relationships with Kassiel, Marcus, Bastien & Callan keep growing and I'm happy about it. In Sinful things, Olivia was closer to her dad and found a new ally in Tanwen. It also ended in a way that makes me want the next book so I'm going to stop writing and get back to reading.

I think there’s just one brain cell shared between all of the main characters.

They all made dumb decisions. Like trusting people that are obviously not trustworthy. Every “big reveal” was so obvious it hurt. Also, why is Olivia getting her revenge by doing pranks a 13 year old would come up with?

The dialog is so blunt. It read more like a text book at times. Like they rush the dialogue to get the important fact out void of any personality.

Like the lack of personality in the dialog, there was no depth to the characters and barely any development for the relationships. I honestly felt like I missed a few chapters because how did we get here? Although the ending left a lot of unknowns, I’m not going to continue with this series.

I definitely need the third book stat!

Sinful Things was so easy to devour. Or maybe I just have a problem when it comes to reading? Not sure but it was definitely a page turner for me. Might have to deal with Olivia being so damn likable but who knows.

Now that the whole world knows that she's half-angel and half-demon, thank you Callan, she is definitely called demon trash more times than I liked. Heck anything after the first time and I wanted to throat punch people at this school. Sometimes someone would step up and tell them to shut their traps.. but other times she just endured it. It's not her fault for who her parents were.. even though no one truly knew that until the end-ish of the book.

The gang is getting closer and closer to finding out where Jonah is. He is Olivia's brother and she is trying everything and anything to get to Faerie land. Even getting into the Order was a good plan to begin with.. but then things were starting to get a bit sketchy. Without knowing who to exactly trust, she starts to get some allies. Along the way though, she gets betrayed.

Not sure what the heck the next book will have for me but I am super excited to dive into it. Even though Callan has yet again, said a deep dark secret that wasn't his to the whole damn school. Not even mad or surprised that Olivia is pissed all over again. I'm just wondering what is going to happen next for these guys - I want to see some groveling. Then there's the whole question on who she could feed off of now..

So many questions guys!

Much Better

Okay, whereas the first book of this series was a bit slow and the heroes were big fat a-hole's and heroine not being any better (eye roll), however the tides turned in this second book.

I greatly appreciated that the author didn't drag on one of the main goals the heroine was trying to accomplish even though she fail at her other tasks. Really, Elizabeth, thanks for that because it soon becomes quite annoying when stuff just drags on and on and on ... You know like this sentence. Lol!;)

So with the author summoning up a perfect ending in a nice little bow with a cliffhanger dangling with promises of a more exciting adventure in the third book of this series I can't wait to jump into book three...

Wow!! So good!

A wonderful continuation of Olivia’s story. There were a couple of times I shouted “I knew it!!” Plus quite a few laughs (that Star Wars game line was just spot on LMAO!) i really hope we see a lot more of Eveanna in the next book, I feel like she will make me laugh my butt off. I can’t wait to see what happens next! Great job on this 2nd installment, keep up the good work!!!!

Half-angel, half-demon Olivia is back for another year at Seraphim Academy, a kind of college for angels. This sexy half-succubus is continuing to add to her harem by continuing to hook up with fellow angels Bastian and Marcus, and starting relationships with frenemy/jerk Callan and demonic teacher Kassiel. She'll need the strength she gets from all of them to go up against the evil anti-demon Order who are planning on kidnapping and torturing her best friend (half-elf Araceli) and her best friend's father.

Once again Briggs has crafted a novel with the perfect mix of smoking hot sex and epic questing fantasy. As a succubus, Olivia must feed/have sex with multiple partners to keep from draining each one too much. The sex is extremely hot, but her rendezvous with each of her men is different, from the loving touch of Marcus to the hate-to-want-you sex with Callen. Plus, Olivia and her friends are on an epic quest to save her brother Jonah and keep the Order from getting the Staff that will banish all demons to hell forever.

Fun read.

I’m enjoying this, but for Callan. He is so arrogant, yet childish in his ability to hold a grudge based on supposition not fact. He really is a temperamental jerk. I’m really hoping Liv uses her get-even-with-Callan video.

Apart from him, I did have fun reading this. Their are some great friendships forming, and breaking, and there is quite a bit more betrayal, so I’m good on that score. Gabriel plays a bigger part, but I’m hoping in the third (and final?) book that we get a lot more action and revenge on those angels who put all this in motion.

Was 4 stars now 3 stars
After having a day to think about this book I changed my review to 3 stars. This was a good book, I just started to care less and less about the characters. The plot kind of slacked off for me and it wasn’t as good as I imagined. I also felt that a lot of things in this book were stupid and predictable. There were no surprises. I may or may not read the third book, I may lose interest by the time it comes out.

Weak

At the end of the last book, Marcus said he was done. I was so happy to hear it because the other two was a**holes. Then, at the beginning of this book, I found out it was a lie. He did not man up and leave, but stayed with the a**holes.

Spoiler

Then, I was excited about the revenge for the aweful things the a**holes did to the MC last year. The first revenge one was amazing, the second was just ok, and then she went with the normal trove. The guys still treat her like crap, yet she thinks things have changed. She is a demon. Why is she so gullible!!!!

Let’s not go into her sleeping with them all, even after she knew no one was out to get her anymore and she could feed anywhere. Yeah, I would definitely spread my legs for the guys who destroyed my safety and was the worse bullies. Marcus was using sex to get to her, so just because he became whipped does not make him better.

I still do not understand how she is ok with her ultra rich parents allowing her to be poor and struggle her entire life. They could have easily gave her cash. But there is no bitterness there for them being deadbeats.

Then as a final insult, the bad guy was predictable.

So no more for me.

Okay, the FMC might be a succubus and shit, but she acts like a 12 yo. Her “revenge” for breaking her windshield was to paint the dudes car with hot pink glitter, another “retaliation” is trashing their room with plushies and pink stuff. This is everything you need to know about this book.
Also im DNFing just because I thought one of the mmcs rejects her permanently, and this is not the case.

Well the cat is out of the bag. I can't say that I'm not enjoying our FMC, Olivia really making the guys work for her forgiveness. This book picks up right where book 1 ended which was good because after all that happened there at the end of that book we really needed to be able to dive right in. Olivia's search for her brother continues, despite everyone attempting to thwart her. I'll give her this, the girl is determined. Now however, its not just her brother's BFFs gunning for her, the society she has infiltrated may have the answers she needs. Whatever the case, she knows now she needs to make a trip to Fairie to find her brother.. Now if only she knew who she could actually trust to help her bring him home safely.

There has definitely been a lot of twists here in book 2 but who is the real bad guy? Things seem obvious but I'm not quite so sure. Now everyone seems to be the enemy. I loved that we got to know Olivia even more in this book and her relationships with the guys are getting more in depth. Its not just about her hunger anymore. Knowing who her mother is now makes things even more interesting. No wonder she is kind of a big deal lol. Can't wait for the next book! Gimme!

They're back!

OK the awesome 5some Olivia, Kessian, Callan, Marcus and Bastien are back with a bang.. literally. And packing some punches.

Book two is interesting because not only to we get more secrets revealed and lies uncovered...
We also get to dive deeper into the dynamics of the these characters and their romantic journey.

Is there some predictable things in this story? Yes. Of course, but honestly I think that can be said for many books in opinion. Did it make it any less exciting? Nope. It still hit right.

So obviously the secrets out about Olivia and who she's spawn from and that in its self is dangerous but add in the fact she's searching for her brother, saving her friends, trying to live her life and juggle all that man meat she has going on? ... the gurllllll is permanently busy. For real.

The men stole the show in this book really showing their personalities at their best and their very worst and let's just say it was enlightening to say the least.

Callan... I hate that I love you but I can't help it, I blame it on my black soul.

All joking aside though this book hit right and hard from the first page giving us suspense by the boat load. It gave me hot and sweet romancing. It gave me nail biting frustrating tensions. It was action packed and full of surprises. It gave ALOT.

and that ENDING?.... lordy.

Oh and the revenge stride our leading lady took. Yes QUEEN. Show those men who's boss.

It was okay, the steam was high, the grovelling was mid level, and I noticed the FMC inner monologue for the reason she forgives them is logical....I guess I wish for more. The revenge was funny up to the potential 3rd one...that would be cringe. The betrayal was expected, although like the group, I started to hope it wouldn't happen.

it was an okay book. I think I liked the chasing more than the acceptance stage in this series...well, some acceptance. And our professor, I find him kind of boring, dare I say... Actually, i don't have a favourite guy in this series. Maybe i spoiled myself on pyscho unhinged, but still sweet guys a bit.... Although Bastian does have a weirdness, that's interesting. The other two...Marcus is sweet and charming, the grumpy one, Calin is screaming insecure and not much else. I need another level to these guys to like them more...

anyway, the task continues, the smex continues (not as adventurous as i was hoping just yet), and the danger grows stronger.

ONE REFRESHING ROLLERCOASTER!!!
Thrilling! Elizabeth dropped the bomb and blew me away with this exceptional approach, bestowing one magnificent storyline and arresting plot, blasting this little treasure wide open in all its glory, welding it together sleek, shiny and tight. Toss in drama, secrets, turmoil, distress, danger, mounting suspense and nerve racking situations along with a boatload of chaos while dodging calamity, you have one block busting adventure. Anarchy, escapades and havoc run amuck, kicking this bad boy into a raging tempest, blasting it into a tailspin with a mind-blowing culmination. A raging vortex of fervent events and surprising circumstances, catapulting those churning emotions into play front and center. Exhilaration rocks this jewel, bringing it home with such intensity and precision, riding roughshod and imparting one block busting piece of perfection, thrusting this gem to life brilliantly. The characters are complex and authentic with depth and traits that blend and flow, transforming into genuine approachable personalities. Navigating the trials and tribulations, noting the thrilling twists and wicked turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never envisioned. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and depictions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Remarkable job Elizabeth, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.

Well what can I say. the story is coming out and it seems like Olivia still has some battles ahead. She knows who her parents are and why they left her as a child but I think there's more to the story. there were a few points in the book that surprised me and it's hard to know who to trust. Grace got me, I did not see that coming and now they have to hunt down the order. At least she got her brother back.

I don't read much RH anymore. The genre is a bit over-saturated for me, so I get to be picky. I am mostly only reading from trusted authors or the occasional highly recommended book from someone I trust explicitly.

Elizabeth Briggs is a trusted author and this book does not disappoint. It picks up right where the previous book leaves off and continues the journey of these likable (or getting there in a few cases) characters.

Recommended.

Good at parts and let down at others

Good continuation of the main plot, not too slow, not too fast. Happy that the story is progressing.

And the frustrating: the first book was really, really bully heavy in this series. It really left a bad taste in my mouth (men bullying the women they end up with? Not stand-up men in my book- bullying is defined as abuse once schools are over, you know). But I was excited since there were whispers of revenge against the bullies this book. We got a little but what I was really looking forward to was the FMC’s brother would hear all the awful things his “friends” did to her and rip them a new one (not the ignore all the abuse and just be mad they were sleeping together now trope). It was probably the only justice I saw happening in this series that would make me feel a little better. And what do we get? Nothing. All of that stuff is glossed over because of “more important things”. I get it, it’s not the main plot but it’s important and just ignoring that whole plot device that was used to get the characters together in the first place? That’s leaving a really bad taste in my mouth. I want a knock out drag out fight where the main bully(ies- lets be honest here) FINALLY realize they were wrong. And we haven’t gotten it and I don’t think I can finish the series until that happens. If it doesn’t happen next book, I’m going to have to totally write off this genre and story. It too painful to see men abuse women and have women forgive them without character growth or consequences. That happens in the real world all the time, I’m reading a fantasy novel to escape that.

*decent audiobook performance*

Disappointing, sums this book up.

The writing and world building is fine enough, if not fairly simplistic. The characters are just So Stupid. If it wasn’t for their massive amount of stupidity there would be no plot. And that doesn’t make for a good story IMO.

I honestly have no idea how this series has gotten such high ratings. Like come on, Grace was so obviously going to betray them. They KNEW they couldn’t trust her. At minimum Marcus knew she cheated on Jonas with him, so her excuses for just wanting to find Jonas couldn’t be that legit, but does he speak up? No. And if any of these characters had half a brain they would have made sure that Bastian used his truth telling powers to question her very specifically to ensure she was not just after the staff. Easy peasy, but then there would be no book. Just everything about that situation was such lazy plot development. Everything that happens can be chalked up to the characters having zero logic and reasoning skills. Which is not far off from what we saw in Book 1.

On top of that add the underdeveloped, immature, and thus rather unattractive characters, and complete predictability, and we’ve got one mess of a series on our hands. The only thing saving this from a 1 star for me is that the audiobook performance was decent.

I could go on, but I don’t want to waste anymore time on this book.

Fine to read for free

Once again I'm left a little underwhelmed by the writing.
This reads like a fanfiction, it's an entertaining enough story, but I would never pay to read it. I have read it using kindle unlimited.
The writing is very basic and there was one instance where the protagonist talks directly to the reader. Talk about breaking the fourth wall. It's just such a fundamental writing error that it's shocking that the author has the audacity to charge so much to purchase the book.
All of the 'twists' were painfully obvious but then spelled out to the reader.
When the protagonist meets her mother for the first time in a while, it's a somewhat touching moment and then is ruined by a completely random and wholly unnecessary joke.

It's something to pass the hours, the story itself is somewhat engaging, but overall underwhelming.

Now hold the fuck on. What just happened? 3.5stars WHATTTTTTTTTTT???????????? HOW? Ok, after what happened in book one, I dove into this book expecting nothing. I just wanted to know what happened and so my expectation was literally non-existant. But I did enjoy it. So much that I finished it in almost one sitting. Huh? HUH?

I'm not going to take back what I said about book one because it was literally that bad, but this one though? Damn this one was enjoyable as hell. It's back. Me and a shittily entertaining book and our toxic relationship. and I'm kinda glad I decided to continue reading. I'm not sure if it really got that significantly better or I'm just more used to the style of writing and how childish it was now, but I guess both? This book was still so childish, don't get me wrong. The way everything up until 'that' moment was just way too easy and convenient bugged me. And 'that moment' was so predictable that it made me even more mad. For someone who had to live through that kind of life, you sure were naive, liv girly. Callan still annoyed the hell out of me. Oh my god that son of a bitch deserves to be groveling. He better grovel. Olivia, you better not take him back before he gets one his knees and literally begs. How dare him??? Being an asshole is in fact his entire personality. And he better apologise to Kassiel. The audacity. All the characters still felt o empty but I guess I did decide to look past that at some point so it didn't annoy me as much anymore. And Gabriel. Oh Gabriel. AHHHHHH IM CRYING I LOVE GABRIEL THE MOST. I became fond of so many characters in this book. Bastien(I have a soft spot for him.), Kassiel(Makes me want to read his dad's books), Uriel(that smartass), Tanwen, and many many more. I just enjoyed them I don't why. I guess it is certain now. I'm the most childish one here. A 12 yo me would have been so proud and embarrassed. LOL. This book will go down as my guilty pleasure but what can I do? I almost pull an all nighter to finish it. Aight, onto book three. That bitch bettter be ded ISTG.
