Elois is in a constant state of doubt. She doubts the people around her, her place in the world, and even herself. And on one of the worst days of her already unstable life, she gets the most shocking plot twist of all.

When the rain stops falling literally in midair, she meets her future husband, Nikolas, who traveled back to her time to prevent losing her in the future. One mistake after another, however, forces Elois to stay away from the man she can't get herself to trust.

But Nikolas will continue to test fate and time and time again, risking everything in the process, to get even just one more day with the woman he loves.

I was really emotional, to be honest. Mr. Olanday really fond writing speculative fiction just like The Conspiration of the Universe. I really like how he made that plot twist. But in my opinion and as I continue his story in my imagination, wouldn't Elois be depressed again once she and Jasper got their first child and she got miscarriage again (she got some disease or disorder in her cervix, I guess that's why) ? Still, it will not prevent Elois from killing herself all over again. The problem here is Nikolas. He made the time machine because he wanted to prevent Elois from killing herself. He can't accept that Elois will die. So, maybe in the future Nikolas again (which is the single or married but not married to Elois) will build another time machine because he will never be contented and he might hear a news that Elois kill herself again then memories come back (too cliche huh?). Well, it is also stated in the book that he has a will of building that time machine. And building it all over because of the same purpose and that is to save Elois. Besides, Cole (the present or past Nikolas) is already changing because of Elois that time so he might fell for her again and again.

Another one, maybe when Jasper and Elois are together, Cole will compete with his best friend for winning Elois' heart. That way, Elois and Cole might still end up together. And Nikolas will just accept the fact that Elois will die or maybe, since Elois know that depression will win someday, she will fight it and they might just adopt a child. Atleast, Jasper didn't die (like future Nikolas told Elois, dunno if it's just an excuse so that Elois will just agree in his plan.

Regarding on how the story written, it's good but the story itself is the best thing I've ever read. Although, Mr. Olanday really fond speculative fiction, I still want him to continue or write a sequel of this story. I already accepted on what happened to Eureka and Luke but I can't accept what happened to Nikolas and Elois' story. I get it that speculative fiction aims to continue the story in our imagination, but I want the real artist to continue it so we know how he manage the development of his own art. Haha, I just want justice to this story. I want to know if past/present Cole will do the move or if it is future Nikolas will do it. Mr. Olanday, I want a sequel of this, please :( . Even if you really want Elois' depression to win over her and leave this world, I will accept it rather that it ended without Nikolas' carnation flower.

Just finished reading it & I must say that it’s an amazing book having amazing plot twist instead of having cliché love story endings. It also amazed me how it opened my knowledge more about science. 😌🤗

This story made me so sad and happy and dumbfounded. Its been so long since I’ve last read the book but it makes you feel happy things then crush you with a boulder of despair when things have to change its course for the goal of the main characters. The story is about a time traveller guy and a girl who suffers from depression. Kuya KenDaniel creates stories that will make you want to reflect. Finishing this book back then made me cry; and thinking about it after finishing made me feel sad. I would read it again but I need to be mentally prepared.

The writer give us the best version of his craft when this was published this year.

It's my first time reviewing a book that I actually put thoughts on since I usually just say "This is so freaking great. Love it. 5 stars". But I think WTRSF help me start to put more thought on the book I read whenever I finish it.

I actually first read it around 2020 (I think) but it didn't left a mark on me unlike now, it was a typical romance book for me when I read it in the past. I never felt so much heartbreak than yesterday when I re-read it to remember the scenes before heading to the sequel.

I think it's so sad for Nikolas to feel the need to build a time machine and to go back so he can save his wife. Imagine a boy who never really understand how to feel his own emotion pour all his love to his wife. Used this knowledge to avoid getting his wife kill herself. It was so touching. I think it's unfair that the universe choose him to experience so much heartbreak.

To Elois, she didn't realize that Nikolas was grieving too and would again be grieving when she died. It was kind of unfair for her to not see that but I know how long she's been battling her depression so I understand her a bit. Not that much since I haven't experience what she's been feeling but I understand that it might be too much for her.

I think I can't accept the fact that there might really be a 'Jasper + Elois' because I always love it when the main lead get to be together. I remember that my brother said that he's team Jasper when he borrowed and read it. I disagree and told him they, Nikolas and Elois, would end up together. And they did, in other multiverse because there's no one or two possibilities in our life.

I remember watching 'To Me, the One Who Loved You' movie. It was almost the same as the first one. It. Was. Almost. The. Same. But unlike in WTRSF, they are not married but only a childhood sweetheart. But it was the same, the guy trying to find a loop hole to save his sweetheart. Oh to have someone who loves you some much they'd be willing to build a machine just to save you (in different timeline).

I've read Wangi's review and it does spark more questions I have (some are for the sequel so I'll keep them first). In the original timeline, Cole (present) got Elois. But while building their family, she had a miscarriage because she has a incompetent cervix. Which let me to think what happened when Nikolas (future) went to a timeline where Nikolas and Elois both healed themselved and they adopted instead (had read Wangi's review and we share some thoughts on this)? Multiverse has a lot of possibilities so a timeline where Elois being alive and still married to Nikolas is a huge possibility. But nevertheless, Nikolas- not Elois- changed a huge part to the original timeline which resulted for Elois to end up with Jasper for most timeline (but not all - I'm Team Nikolas all the way okay???).

Overall..
I have a love and hate relationship with this book. Firstly because it has an open ending which I don't really like a lot. I hate the open ending because it gives me a lot of opportunities to imagine what the ending goes. As a result, I overthink a lot of what would happen. It's just my preference so don't hate me for it. But I love how Kuya Ken wrote his books. I know what to expect when he publishes a book, for it to have an open ending and to be filled with a realistic storyline. I love it because it helps you understand more science (hah take that science subject in my shs) and actually knowing how it works. I love it because while I do expect a cliche plot, it gave me more realistic (BUT HURTFUL??? jk) story line.

Kuya Ken never fails to amaze me and all the things are done according to what is supposed to happen and not how he or you want. It's the great way to deliver a story on this topic. He was my one of my two favorite science fiction authors because not only he's a filo [way to go writing some science and readers do not get bored about it. so proud huhu] but also because he is delicate to his field of writing. He's passionate and tried his best to go out to his comfort zone.

I read WTRSF only 3 times because it always left me feeling sad and depressed but I also couldn't put it down to read the next chapters. It's intriguing but it also will make you wonder "Why am I reading this?". It contains a lot of science-y stuff that usually makes my head hurt (hence the question above) but it's essential because it's sci-fi. I never really thought I'd read sci-fi books until I've read a few.

WTRSF was a book I really love. It has great scenes and a realistic storyline (Ps. I hate realistic storylines most of the time).

It was such a killer book even if I don't like open ending and third wheels. This book is such a treasure!! This book is something I'll be willing to ignore my preference because it's so good. If I don't like the author and his books, I'll probably throw it and ignore its existence forever (bc how dare he make Nikolas suffer that much??? He's just a baby??? pls ignore me loving Nikolas the way he deserve

I think it was not a sad ending, but an open one, with just many possibilities. But I get the emotion of the book that's why it made people cry, and I honestly don't have anything to say because Ken Daniel made a wonderful story out of this piece of literature. It was beautifully-written. Every piece reflected the characters for who they are and gave them the right amount of identity to be remembered. For a book that is required to be short for only the pages it had, it covered a whole story and a whole feeling. It gave out a feeling. And I like how it made me feel an emotion that calls for how the book was intended to be written: melancholy. Ken Daniel wrote characters that symbolized people in real life too, and even as a science fiction book, it speaks for the individuality of many. A character suffering through depression. A character who is struggling with the downside of his intelligent capacity. Characters with a broken past. Characters that felt like real people because they had real problems and struggles related to our reality. And the romance was personally not icky, it was wholesome and it made me believe how possible it was to fall in love and how natural it could be despite of fate manipulations. It showed a love so pure. I'm glad that I am in a better place when I read this book, because if I were in my past and I have found this beautiful thing, I would have been a little bit broken with Elois too. I will limit my words to only one thing to describe When The Rain Stopped Falling: wistful. Now, off to the sequel. I hope for a happy ending. <3

a 5/5 for me.

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??!! FIVE OUT OF FIVE FOR A WATTPAD BOOK??!!! (i mean hindi sa dina-downgrade ko ang mga story sa wattpad.. PERO CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!)

the story is fully written in English. Napatagal din yung pag finish ko sa pagbabasa nito dahil may na fe-feel ako na sasaktan ako nitong libro.. and I’m not wrong!!

this book is about Nikolas and Elois, nag re-revolve rin ito sa pa ta-time travel. I wasn’t aware of was going to happen while reading it, the story is not predictable which is very new for a wattpad book.. kadalasan kasi ng nababasa ko is parang alam ko na mangyayari, bago ko man mabasa o habang binabasa.. this time before and while reading it wala akong ka clue-clue sa mangyayari HAHAHAHAHA

bittersweet yung naramdaman ko after reading this book, like for real not gonna lie HAHAHAHAHA

Spoiler (i guess?) ✨naiyak ako while reading this book✨

k bye.

This is my first read on KenDaniel. I'm excited to his works, I feel like I'm getting magic on his writings.

First, love the cover, it's purple. It gives me an initial impression that this book will be good and it didn't disappoint. Second, time travelling and it's scientific reasons. My brain cells is working on its maximum capacity. Third, I'm amused on how it ends, I love the scene on the 16th floor, the transition of rain to a dry weather. The confessions. Chef's kiss.

There are things that didn't vibe for me.

One, I just don't get it that Elois easily break the walls of Cole regards of touching. And two, when Elois first met Nikolas, it felt force in terms of how she allow a stranger to make her follow him. That's why I'm JASPER all the way.

Anyways, I'm amazed in KenDaniel's school of adjectives. I learned a lot of new words.

!mild spoilers ahead! :

it's a really good book! this was the first ever book i've bought from Popfiction at a booksale. truth to be told, even though the ending wasn't like any other love stories out there, for me it's one of the most beautiful yet heartbreaking endings i've seen from a book. hindi siya kasing common pero realistic pa rin ang ending niya kahit may pagka sci-fi ang libro. it wasn't all about the beauty of ending together but the beauty of how far you can really go for love. it shows that love really makes you crazy, desperate, and selfless. it broke me yet it's still one of my favorites! 10/10 would recommend :)

This book is a must read, it deserves a 5 star rating and it's totallyyy worth it to buy the book itself. Out of all the books that I've read this is literally the best one it doesnt have that cliché plot and the cool part is it doesnt have that cheap storyline. Because of this book I felt a massive heartache that I never felt, every lines, every moments and most of all the ending that you'll never expect. An ending that is way beyond your expections. This author deserves so much more!

It was a very emotional book. There's a disappointment in me on what happened at the end but I couldn't hate it. It was a good book, a great book even. It just shows that not everything ends happily. I also love how Mr. Olanday wrote the book. It was in english and I don't read that much of english books but I really understood everything written on the book. He uses simple words with great impact and I love him as an artist for that. Highly recommended!!

This book has been my favorite ever since. The first time I read this was 6 years ago, and I’m so glad I re-read it. And it still hit me perfectly! It is so easy and quick to read and finish. A perfect blend of romance, fantasy, sci-fi, and drama. I sobbed the first time I read this and I sobbed again for the second time. My heart will forever belong to this book. Nikolas Yamamoto, the man that you are!

I remember my friend Mikhaela recommending me this book and I'm thankful that I read it, I already brought a hardcopy, the scientific portrayal of time travel using consciousness is quite intriguing, also I caught between the love triangle of 3 protagonist, I'm not knowledgeable on science but the author make it easy to for the reader to understand the science behind all the story, though the story didn't end will, I will forever cherish reading this book

Honestly a bit disappointed. The whole thing feels like a Wattpad fanfiction, even in the first few pages. It is super predictable, with cringe references everywhere.t was also *super* predictable. This book really isn't for me, and the only reason people might like this book is that they're way too focused on the romance overlook the actual flaws

the ending hurts 🥺 i was bawling my eyes out on the last few chapters, i cannot take it 😭 i was sad about elois condition but i was also sad to know nikolas' pov and what he had gone through just to save elois from dying 🥲 what hurts the most is the fact that nikolas was so perfect for elois, the epitome of "to be loved is to be known" so my heart can't accept the ending 💔

This is a nice book. I just didn’t quite enjoy reading it because it was my first time reading this kind of genre and there were confusing parts as well. But overall the author did a great job here. I'm actually planning to reread the book when I finish reading my current reads ☺️

One of my favorite wattpad books. Have read it twice, and I still love it. I relate so much to this book and it really hit my heart. A 10/10, for real. If you love romance, then read this. If you have mental problems, especially depression, read this. If you love sci-fi, read this.
