Zig Ziglar never ceases to deliver greatness. In this book (Over The Top) Ziglar explains where the top is, how to get there and how to live beongd the top. Zilglar breaks it down into very doable actions and walks us through each of them. It is a good idea to take copious notes and stop to do each step after you have read his description. These actions have had proven life changing results for many who apply the steps.I also recommend any of Zig Ziglar's videos on youtube for he is an incredible motaivational speaker.Enjoy and Be Blessed.Diamond

Honestly it contained a few good nuggets here and there but overall was pretty fluffy and forgettable. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't have much to argue about with Ziglar. I mostly enjoyed his ideas of how to become a better person and subsequently improve your life in all areas. My cynical side tends to come out when I read books like this, and each testimonial and real-life story make my eyebrows raise just a bit more. Especially how a disproportionate number of them end up in sales. But still...not without merit.

One thing I took away from it was this (paraphrased):

When a committed person comes up against obstacles, they start looking for solutions to the problem. When a not-committed person comes up against obstacles, they start looking for a way out.

So to truly succeed in relationships, or in "following your dream"-type plans, or other such scenarios, you need to be fully committed. Something to think about.

Zig Zigler presara cu comparatii,exemple si tehnici pe tot parcursul cartii pentru a-ti da o mostra din aerul pe care-l simti la suprafata/varf si pentru a-ti arata cat de usor.. si cat de important este sa fii motivat.

على الرغم من شهرة زيج زيجلار واسعة النطاق، لكونه أحد الآباء المؤسسين للتنمية الذاتية، لكن في رأيي كان محتوى الكتاب محبطًا إلى حد كبير.

نزعته الجمهورية تملأ صفحات الكتاب بشكل مثير للاشمئزاز، مع تلميحات عنصرية لا يغفل عنها ساذج. فهو لا يمل من تكرار "المهاجرين الشرعيين" عندما يأسف على حال السكان الأصليين الذين لا يقدرون أمريكا حق قدرها. وضحكت فعليًا عندما استشهد بقصة لفتاة سوداء تعترف آسفةً بعنصريتها تجاه البيض. ناهيك عن الإشادة ببطولات الجيش، والتحريض الفج للانضمام لنظامه الرائع.
المسيحية، أمريكا، الجيش، شعارات لا يمل منها الجمهوريين، ولم يتورع عن الترديد بها.

Zig encourages us to be over the top (in a good way!) in who we are and what we are becoming (first and foremost) and in what we do. He does so in such a way that is God honoring. Don't expect to find out how to trample the competition to get ahead. Don't think you'll find ways to succeed at the expense of those closest to you. Honoring God, being a blessing to others, and becoming our best self is at the core of Zig's message.

Zig's popularity didn't really explode until this book was released for the first time in 1993.

And most authors choose to refer this book, out of all other ones Zig has written for others to read. Instead of focusing on just pure motivation, Zig teaches the art of living a happy, well-balanced life

Zig Ziglar never ceases to teach me principles needed in my life. Over the Top was a fantastic read and ideal for anyone who has a passion for leadership or developing themselves personally. I found this book was filled with time-less principles anyone should exude who wishes to have a life that continues to move forward. I would recommend this book to anyone in my life.

Quite an inspiring book whose very tone helps one shift into a "let's fucking do this" attitude :D.

I like how Zig focuses on a holistic image of success in all wakes of life, not just financial.

The main point is to focus on what one would like to experience, craft goals, and creatively charge ahead with courage. Also there's an emphasis on living a principled life with the claim that good ol' virtues help to avoid various pitfalls. Which is straightforward enough, so the question is how the book's content can assist one in massaging one's brain in this general direction 🧟💆‍♀️🧠🤓 .

It's very service-to-others orientied as can be seen in this quote from a friend of Zig's:
"I have found that when I care about other people and sincerely try to help them get what they want out of life, my life becomes much richer."

And in Zig's chorus:
"You can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want."

I have been following the late Zig Ziglar for many years now. I often found that I would read a few pages of his book and it didn't really connect with me. I have managed to read this one cover to cover. Then I realised something.

It is Zig's charisma, personality and energy in his audio books that makes the difference! If you can get over the initial reaction of 'is he preaching to me, I feel like I am in church', you will learn a lot!

Zig shares a lot of stories in his writing. He talks of people who have made success out of what most would see as losing hands in life. Zig lays out detailed, step-by-step plans for life-changing success that anyone should follow in some form. I do myself, and I demand it of my clients as well.

And if you follow the advice and direction given in this book, I will see you – and yes I really do mean YOU – not just at the top, I will see you OVER The Top!

Классический Зиг. Замечательный мотиватор.

Радует, что в этой книге нет антисоветчины на каждой пятой странице и навязывания христианства на каждой десятой в отличие от некоторых более ранних его работ.

Нового маловато, но если кому-то нужен щелчок по носу для того чтобы что-то начать, то книга вполне самое то :)

A little bit too religious for me.
Repetitive.
Outdated using advices like listening to cassettes. It's normal because it was writen in 97'-00'.
I wouldn't say it was full of new stuff because I read Deep Work before and it seemed like an older version of Deep Work.
