This was terrific for 1985 but so much more has subsequently been analyzed and published. It is still an amazing overview with good descriptions, chronologies and other categorizations with drawings and photographs. As the author states it is mostly about pots and not about "other works of clay". There is plenty to marvel at and the author is leading expert in this subject matter but also the larger context of the material culture and other associated interdisciplinary fields. Could we hope for an expansion or an update?

Lots of great drawings of standard ancient Minoan patterns, which I was able to copy for glazing pots. There is also a carefully documented archeological history that I followed much less closely but still learned something from.
