Lisa Hofmann is a European-based author of dark fairytale fantasy novels and short stories for adults.
She was born in 1975 and educated in Germany and Ireland. She has worked as an interpreter and as a translator for non-fiction books in her specialized field of education. Later, she went on to become a teacher.
Her books' settings are often similar to or based on historical places near her home town, where she lives with her husband, three children and a houseful of pets.
This is an excellent story written much better than many of the mainstream fantasy stories you will read. The characters are more real in 40 pages than many are in 300. Lisa Hofmann is an author I will explore further. Highly recommended to fantasy readers.
Amberflame is a short medieval tale of forbidden love, secrets, and a fearsome dragon. Lisa Hofmann paints a great visual of a village under duress during a harsh winter. We follow Willa’s secret romance, but is this her only secret? And are others harbouring equally dark truths? A lovely short story that I read in one sitting. Highly recommended.
Yes, this book is very magical. It brings the reader to be transported to a whole new world of fantasy. There was a real balance of darkness and realm of fantasy with lightness and a twinge of humor. Hofmann brought the characters to life, as she penned this amazing story and created her characters. I was entranced by this story. The writing was fast-paced. This book is a real page-turner. You won’t want to put it down, so clear your schedule, get comfortable and settle in for a treat. I received a copy of this novel through BookFunnel. This is an honest review, and my own opinions.
