True story: I used to cut up bodies. No, not for fun, you sickos–for work. After reaching the age of majority and fleeing the clutches of an overprotective mother, I went to university like a good boy.
More than a decade later and an alphabet soup of letters after my name, I found myself looking down the double-chamber of a microscope at an eyeball. Feeling ironically introspective, I decided that it was time for a change.
After seventy plus novels and more than a million copies sold, I’ve found my true calling, one that also includes a plethora of letters. Hopefully you see something in my catalog that you like, something to feast your eyes on.
I also have two spooky podcasts that are appropriate for ALL ages, so long as you like to be scared: P.T. Logan's Five Minutes of Terror and Camp Fear. Both are FREE and available on all podcast platforms. For MATURE audiences, I've created two fiction podcasts, Nightmare Residue and Bad Priest.

As always I'm late to the party. This is the first book in the series that I've read, but I think I found it from a TikTok video. It hooked me and had me Intrigued. The story was captivating from the opening pages. The story unfolded steadily, piece by piece. I didn't see it ending the way it did, but I will have to read more from this series. However, the downside for me was that I found Chase annoying. I wanted to strangle her myself. Lol! Floyd was a great character, I'd like to see him blossom more. There's definitely more to his character. There was several typos throughout the book, but it didn't take anything away from the story. If you like a twisted tale that keeps you guessing then this is a book for you.
Well thats exciting i have just finished reading book 7, but cannot find book 8 so now have to jump to book 9 has stupid it that. the same thing happens in the damien drake series 1 book missing, Guys get it together plz
I can't write a review. Amazon does not have Patrick Logan's Adverse Effects a Chase Adams Book #8!! Where can I get Adverse Effects??? I like to read my books in order and Amazon jumps from Book 7 to Book 9???? Does anyone know where to purchase this book??
I can’t write a review because I can’t find this book anywhere! I have read the entire series up until now, but this one is not available. Would like to know why.
I'm giving 4 stars for the story itself, it was interesting and very different.
Chase was a real asshole in this one. Yes she realizes after the fact that she shouldn't have said or done what she did but its too late for excuses. Just once I wish that whomever she is taking a strip out of would just turn around and start yelling at her and telling her what an asshole she is. No one in all the books has said much in response to her and that is definitely not real life. Dunbar sort of did with looks but that's not good enough. Floyd said the words to Dunbar that she's just plain mean but again nothing is said to her. Frankly, I'm surprise no one's decked her yet.
Floyd has always been a more quite character but he's made to look so weak in this one and that doesn't fly either.
The scariest thing is that she's taking care of little Georgina. She can't even take care of herself and she's looking after the welfare of another??? She has nothing to do with her own son by her choice yet she's looking after Georgina???
Again, Chase realizes everything in her internal monologue but she can't put it into action. She needs intensive therapy like the institutional kind.
Please Patrick Logan and some point have let someone have the balls to tear a strip out of her - that will be a shining moment.
Overall it was a good read. Chase gets back to a case but still fighting her past along the way. She needs to get back to therapy. I don’t understand how she can take care of sister’s child but have no contact with her own son.
There is no way the FBI would send a green agent out alone to NYC. The excuse of trying to get Chase back just doesn’t cut it in this story. The FBI doesn’t work that way. Floyd didn’t even have experience telling family their children had died. Chase is overly snappy to everyone in the book.
I was really looking forward to another Chase book and Floyd's development but I was sorely disappointed. She's just too much and her behavior was over the top. No one would put up working with her in real life. Then making Floyd so weak and dependent for an FBI agent was unrealistic. This book however did have a good mystery plot going and that's why I finished it. I'm not sure I'll continue with this series.
This was a good book and I cannot wait to read the rest in the series. Chase Adams wasn't very likable in this book though, which was a little disappointing but I am ready to see her developments in the upcoming books.
I like the authors style of writing. The individuals included in the books are shown with all their faults and disadvantages this makes the characters more believable. Chase, however, needs to be a nicer person. She can't live in anger and hostility her entire life.
I just keep getting pulled into this series! I am not sure where Patrick Logan comes up with the ideas for this series nut they are really good. A lot of suspense, mystery, drama and lots of twists! Can't wait for the next one!
As always, Patrick Logan set us up! I found it hard to put this book down and of course got to the end much too soon! How long do I have to wait for the next book?
I see it's worth the wait. Not gonna give any spoilers, but if you wanted a family reunion, got it here. Just try to remember everything from the past.
