More than nineteen years ago, ATF special agent, Kane Delancey, witnessed his father’s murder at the hands of an enforcer for the Boston mob. He put his past behind him when he and his family entered the witness protection program. Now, many years later, the murderer he testified against, is about to go free on a technicality. The FBI and US Marshals are asking Delancey to go undercover to help to stop the killer before he has the chance to tap his son as successor.
Luca Price is a fun-loving young jewelry store manager with a bright future ahead of him. After a robbery, he suddenly comes face to face with a man who takes his breath away. Kane Delancey is big, brawny, and downright alpha male, everything Luca’s ever dreamed of. When their attraction strays from the professional, Luca hopes for so much more but there’s no way he’s going to be forced to live life in the closet for anyone, no matter how perfect the man is.
Kane has been straight all his life. He can’t imagine a scenario where he’d want to take a guy to bed, much less form an intimate relationship with one. Then he meets Luca Price, stunningly beautiful, smart, and sweet in a charming way that has nothing to do with him being gay. When Luca’s path crosses with the man Kane is chasing, Delancey is suddenly faced with a different challenge… keeping Luca and his own family alive while trying his best to end the murderer’s legacy.

Well, that was a quick DNF at 8%! I'll take my M/M without the mysoginy and F*ckboys thanks!
This one made me so angry I am absolutely rating this DNF at 1 star and writing about it. Let's start with the writing: Absolute amateur hour. By the time I threw in the towel I was getting annoyed at all the exposition and absolutely pointless scenes and this was just the beginning!
What clinched it was the main badass ATF Agent Kyle on a date though. The author honest-to-God has him sitting there mentally complaining about his female date eating a salad even though he was gracious enough to take her to a steak house! He was planning to fill her up with carbs for the 'activities' he had planned later. But she is pissing him off with her salad eating. He DOES think she has a banging body though (exact words) WELL HOW DO YOU THINK SHE GOT IT A-HOLE?!
He is basically annoyed by his date all night (but still plans to proceed with the 'activites) when he meets the other protagonist and falls in lust at first sight WHILE HIS DATE IS STANDING RIGHT THERE.
And then the author decides that a normal response to your date lusting after a guy while standing beside you is to slap him in the face like you're on Dynasty. *rolls eyes*
If he treats his dates like that why would I be interested in seeing him date cute other protagonist? And if only treats his FEMALE dates like that then why would I be interested in this book at all?!
Dear author your protagonist is a F*ckboy. I have been done with those for a loooong time and really don't want to read about one!
I’ll give the shirt and sweet of it. I was not a fan of this first book in Witsec series. Kane was an absolute punk. And not in a I’m gonna be a a55hole but then get it together and become adorable. Nope he just sucked. He treated Luca with such disrespect and loathing, I couldn’t buy into his change when it finally came at 70%. I would have preferred he stay that way and Ms Logan make the series about his hook ups a plenty. Or whatever. Second, what was the point of Stephen? Sweet older gentlemen and could have really been some one but, I became confused as to why he was trying to date Luca when Luca was clearly not interested, and then nothing. No point to that 100 pages at all. I got to say it took me 6 days to read this book I lost interest so often. Nothing made sense and the plot was loose and boring. Again my biggest problem was Kane. Trust me I love a good a55hole turned charmer I’ve read plenty, but the way he was written and his excuse of ppl finding out he might be gay was lame. His entire co-workers were like all gay, so that was lame he really just wants his cake and eat it too or whatever that saying is.
Did this author read A Matter of Time by Mary Calmes before writing this book? There are several dialogue exchanges that are so Jory and Sam. Hence, the one star...I’m not saying it was blatant but it felt wrong while reading it. Totally turned me off.
Fairy Gathering? Fairy Camp from Queer as Folk, anyone?
Kane Delancey is an ATF Agent that works with Thayne Wolfe & Jarrett Evens from the Death & Destruction series. He's also in WITSEC because he watched his dad get murdered when he was 12yo. When the man, Enoch Moore, that killed his dad asks for compassionate release, the the FBI & US Marshals ask him to go undercover with LAPD, (Cassidy, Mike & Kelly Murphy from the Silver Series) as a dirty cop, to get in with Brandon Moore, the son to take down their mop. He also believes he's straight, until he meets Luca... Luca Price is the manager of a high-end jewelry store. When it gets robbed he meets Kane. There are sparks!!!!! But Kane is...very, very stubborn!!!!! ****It's a must read!!!!
I loved everything about this book and Patricia logan has done it again with another 5 star read. Although Kane seriously needs an ass kicking for the way he treats Luca
True rating 2.75 stars, rounding up because I did like it for the most part and for such a massive book, I managed to breeze thru it pretty quickly! Overall, I can say that there were parts that were good [and Luca is so sweet]! I did have a few niggles - which I'll mention later, but I do also lightly touch on in my updates - and at some point around the 65% mark, I started skimming - had it not been for the monotony that occurred where I started skimming, in terms of things taking on a rinse-repeat vibe, I might have rated this a slid 3 or even A BIT higher!! ! I'm intrigued to see if the wobbly start to this series rights itself in the next book and IF the next book will be better, so I decided to be generous enough by rounding up the rating instead of down!! If I haven't quit yet after all that, I'll give the book credit!! I also own the next two books, so I might as well read them and honor the money invested!! I really anticipate liking the next book much much more!! Kane, don't be an asshole!!!!
Kane witnessed his fathers murder and testified against the man that murdered his father, which put a bullseyes on his family's back. They had to leave everything behind and go into the Witness Protect Program, they have been hiding for the last nineteen years, now that man is getting out of jail on a technicality. The FBI is asking Kane to keep the murderer from tapping his son to be the successor of the family crime dynasty. Luca is jewelry store manager, who gets robbed and meets Kane, when he comes in to take his statement, sparks fly but do questions and doubts.
Overall a good book, and I'll read the next one in the series, but I had some serious issues with Kane to begin with, but I choose to push through and hope his attitude towards not only his dates but Luca got better throughout the book, it did but there was once or twice where I just wanted to Luca to walk away and say screw you. The sparks that flew between the two of them, you knew if they could figure out their stuff would make for a hot relationship and it did, they just had to get to the right place and it took a good 75-85% of the book to get to that place, so be prepared for a lot of up and downs before things seem to smooth out.
A truly good story with likable interesting characters and a storyline that harnesses the reader's attention. A fresh new story involving an ATF agent who joined the Witness Protection Program when he was young, a pre-teen. A straight man, Kane is surprised by his attraction to Luca, a very proper jewelry store manager who has been the victim of a smash and grab crime. This story has it all. Interesting, fun and sometimes very tense story development. Secondary characters, colleagues, friends, family and even enemies bring emotion, history, twists and surprises. I'm anxious for the next in this new series.

Dnf @25% The idea of the book is nice. The execution is not so great, is my opinion. In the first quarter of the book, Luca sees about 5 guys that give him a hard-on; I thought that was just overreacting and lame. Kane is behaving like an asshole and though I can understand it a bit, it all feels just not real. The whole text I’ve read doesn’t feel natural and though I actually wanted to stop earlier but read on because I wanted to see how the story developed, I now decided to really stop reading. It’s apparently not for me.
Kane is an ATF agent and Luca is a jewelry manager story. Kane is working undercover to catch the man that murdered his father. Kane is straight but once he sees Luca he can't take his eyes off of him but he's fighting his attraction for him. Once you start reading this book you will not want to put down. There's romance, intense moments, funny times, and the sexy times are hot. Patricia Logan never disappoints. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.
Stay With Me is the perfect mix of action, suspense and romance. I loved the dynamics and connection between Kane and Luca. Sparks fly right from their first meet. There are enough twists and turns to keep you turning page after page. Patricia Logan is an expert at grabbing the reader's attention. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.
OMG I am ready loving this new series in this world that Patricia Logan has created. I love Kane and Luca! Patricia has made more characters that I just love so much and I just love all the action in this story. I couldn't stop reading and I can't wait to see what happens next!
Patricia has written an amazing story! Wanted to slap people but i believe that is a great sign of a brilliant story. I loved Luca right away Kane had to fight for it. I have a great time reading their book. Can not wait for more of the series.
This got two stars because it's written in Trump speak. The mob boss is "a bad man". Really! The characters are stereotypes, and the situations barely believable. This is airport fiction, but Easyjet style.
Kane is an unlikable character. He treats Luca terribly and at the 54% point I just didn't care anymore. I don't think I have patience for an in-depth review, so I'll just comment on the issues that stood out.
1.) Editing. The book begins on an info-dump and it never stops. Why did we need all the ferret details? What is the purpose of Steven in the story? (Stephen? Not sure since I listened to the audio book.) The book could have been much shorter. So many detailed events did absolutely nothing to move the story along.
2.) I could not stand Kane. Other reviewers have mentioned the misogyny present in the story. Who exactly is the target audience?
3.) Both MCs mention random attractions to people they come in contact with. I didn't get the point.
4.) Why do authors of GFY/OFY have to constantly compare experiences with a man to previous experiences with women? We get that it's not the same, but it distracts from the current when the past is mentioned in every intimate scene. Kane constantly compares his feelings for Luca to the "tail" he's had in the past. Derogatory reference aside, it's hard to look forward to the present and future when the character is constantly reliving the past.
Kane and Luca....sigh. They are both drool worthy. Kane a tough Fed, undercover as a cop to (once and for all) take down the family who was responsible for the murder of his father. Luca is a jewelry store manager. The first time he meets the straight cop, his world shifts.
I liked these guys. The author has given us another set of heroes to root for. I thought Kane’s journey to realizing he wanted another man was well done. Luca was a sweetheart with great friends and a determination to not let Kane hurt him. He just didn’t realize it was already too late. Kind of ended with a HFN. Can’t wait for more of them.
This is the first book in The WITSEC Series. A sensational book with great writing. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I can’t wait to see where this series leads. I found the story and characters captivating. The characters were developed and thought out. Kane and Luca are the MC’s of this book. I am excited to read more of this series and can’t wait for the next book. I can highly recommend this book as a good read. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
So excited to get Kane’s story!! Ms. Logan certainly did not disappoint. There are twists from the very beginning to do with the investigation and the roller-coaster continues through to the end. Kane and Luca are adorable together and the romance is sweet. There are many terrific secondary characters (yes, I’m still giggling over the driving lesson!) Now I can’t wait forBook 2, that teaser at the end..... damn!
A great mix of action, mystery and romance in this story that is very well written and entertaining. Kane and Luca are great together and they have incredible chemistry. Kane is an ATF agent who meets Luca when his jewelry store is robbed and there are sparks right from the start. Lots of twists and ups and downs to get to their wonderful HFN. Looking forward to more from this series. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Great beginning to a new series. Luca and Kane made a great couple , if only Kane can get himself together. Kane is working on an assignment that will have great personal consequences for him and his family. Luca is a hardworking guy will a big heart and solid friends. Can they make it work? Will Kane be able to bring a longstanding issue to an end?
I am going to admit I started this out of order listening to book two in audio. I loved it so much I wanted to go back to book one and see how things came about. I do recommend you start here in book one as this is a series that I the same couples progress and not a conclusive ending in each book. Kane is undercover In LAPD detective to solve a case for the Feds and Marshals. While working undercover he meets Luca a gorgous gay man he cannot get out of his system. Kane is straight… od was until he first say Luca and cannot get the man out of his head and every time he turns around they seem to run into each other.
Luca is tired of Kane’s mixed up feelings and how he treats him mean one minute and is kissing him the next.
I love the back and forth between Kane and Kane’s struggles with his emotions. I love Gay for you books almost as much as age gap and here I get both. I also love a good character that isnt the normal hero type. Kane is bit of a buthole to Lucas and I just want to smack him… a lot. There is suspense from the undercover plot, the robbery of the jewelry story Luca manages and twists in both plots. This is one heck of a pageturner! Now on to book three since I have listentened to book 2. ( Not waiting for audio lol)
