Mister Bad Boy Firefighter

Rate this book
Small-town Fireman Second-Chance Romance

You know the game, Never Have I Ever? Well, I did—every inch of him and then I left.

I had my reasons, but now I'm back in Big Dix—or Dixen, Alaska—and so is the hotshot firefighter turned fire chief I left at the altar.

It's been eight years and Aspen Kennedy still has it all: He’s hot as sin, hard in all the right places, induces Oh, god, yes moments and has brains too. Simple math, right? So you would think. But my younger self ran when the time came to say, ‘I do'. Biggest mistake of my life, but I moved on in order to save my heart.

I'll keep my distance, and since I have no interest in rekindling any romance with my high-school flame while I'm in town, that should be easy. My goal is to help my gran renovate her B&B before Christmas and then I’ll be back in the Big Apple, far away from Aspen.

But the man doesn't play fair and his memory of my body has me rethinking life on a grander scale, screaming his three favorite words and forgetting about my tight schedule and all the bullet points on my to-do lists. I suppose a few stolen moments of pleasure can be our little secret, right? Trouble is, the more he touches me and the more we’re together, the more I wonder what it would be like to wake up to a Big Dix man for the rest of my days… After the Christmas lights come down, will there be any magic left between us?

**Full-length 70k word novel

burn for a second chance...

Ivy is back in her hometown after 8 years being away? which is wired since the blurb said 6? (?) and she is helping her gran fix up her b&b why did she leave this man at the alter.. well they were young and she didn't know if she wanted to marry.. so she left.. and i can understand that.. and i was shocked that ASPEN!! didn't resent her like many ppls do when you are left at the altar.. he plans to win her back.. slowly.. it was very low low angst.. and finding eachother again.. so sweet.

time has changed them both.. now she is fighing her heart to leave back to New York..

i do have some complains.. i hated.. that Aspen kept saying Ivy Sunday.. it reminded me of 50 shades saying her wholeee name.. so thats why he brought my rating down.. now this was a me thing lol

slight om drama, tiny drama, no cheating, slight secondary charas, sexy times, no virgins..

recommend- maybe

[1.5 star] book wasn't terrible, don't hate it however it was too fast-paced i feel. heroine left hero on the altar like eight years ago and return to their hometown to help with her grandmother's bnb. she have just gotten back to her hometown not long ago and is already like hanging around the hero like nothing happen. and the hero took her back way too easily as well.

even though, they were together many years ago, the route to become a couple again felt too fast and unrealistic. it didnt take them a long time to fall into bed again, like wham-bam, there they are having sex bareback. *roll eyes*

overall, i felt the book have too much things to improve in order to become a better book. therefore i probably will not continue the series.

It was.. okay.

It wasn't controversial, wasn't smutty, was pretty sweet...
It just felt that it had very little time with the characters that stretched on too many pages for it.
The love was kind of immediate even though they had a past, that was 8 years apart. A lot can happen in eight years. It felt as they did not learn about how they are now, after all those years, and rushed the romance along. And Aspen is too good to be true, has no flaws. He is smart, funny, good-hearted, kind, forgiving, loves to help others, hot, young, single, no baggage, perceptive, empathetic, charismatic, happy person? If you know someone like that, please introduce us.

In the end, I did not connect to the story, and the way she solved the dilemma if she goes back to New York or not was by treating it as if it was nothing and that felt as though she made a conflict for it to not to be real, so why was it a conflict anyway? Decisions have consequences, and it felt as though this one didn't have any.

This story was too perfect and lacked a connection for me so.... Saddening, but that's a part of life.

A sexy second chance story sure to warm up your winter reading. Dixen, Alaska sounds like a great place to live with fantastic views and strong alpha males. No one said the line between love and war was easy, maybe a second chance will cement it for good. Definitely interested in meeting and seeing more HEA's with other characters in this series.

This is an enjoyable book one in the Big Dix series; an amazing second chance romance! The story line is emotionally deep, compelling, well written, funny, and engaging. The characters are likeable; the chemistry between them is undeniable and off the charts! This book met all of my expectations and then some! Definitely recommended!

Ugh so sorry

I was so bored that I stopped at page 712/27% it really didn't seem like it was going anywhere and if it was it was on a slow track. Love your books and was eager for this one but wasn't prepared for this change, sorry.

This is a hot and sexy story about second chances and being unable to deny what your body and heart already know. It's entertaining and there are some funny moments as well that lighten up the angst.
