An appreciable trial
While I can appreciate the great effort put in translating an epic historical novel in Tamil by the Great writer KALKI KRISHNAMURTHI, I am sorry that I have to point out certain shortcomings in this ! Many pages are found to be missing. Even in the available pages no mention of The main character VandhiyathEvan who is actually the hero of the story. In one place it is mentioned that Vanathi had sent a letter to Artulmozhi through Parthivendra Pallavan, which is not there in the original. But for these shortcomings , I definitely appreciate the nice abridged version in Malayalam. It is a highly difficult job to abridge such a big story of five volumes. I don't think that even in Tamil there is any such an abridged version ! My hearty Congratulations to the writer for this great effort.
