When she came to Detroit, Isabella “Izzy” Sage was looking for answers about the death of her parents, who were killed while doing the very job she’s about to take on: Managing the death gate, a border between the living and the dead, located on Belle Isle. What she found was a sense of family, a little romance, and a whole lot of adventure
Join Izzy and her new friends, the Grimlocks, as they tackle a myriad of monsters and search for the truth about what happened to Izzy’s parents when something terrible crossed over from another world and upended Izzy’s when she was just a child.
The laughter, love and danger is nonstop.
This omnibus includes the first three titles in the Death Gate Supernatural Thriller series: Only the Lonely, Only the Quiet and Only the Lost.

When I was a kid, I was torn between whether or not I was going to grow up and be the Incredible Hulk or Wonder Woman. I flirted with being a Jedi Knight for awhile, but I wasn't up for the intense travel associated with the gig. In my teens, I settled on being a writer -- although I had no idea the effort that would entail.
Not only am I a writer now, but I'm a writer in several different mediums. I'm a longtime newspaper reporter, an avid reader and a voracious science fiction fanatic.

An all-time favorite series!

They're seriously spooky, altogether kooky, the Grimlock family!
I've read the entire series several times, and will do so again, and again, and...
I start missing the characters, and have to revisit them now and then.
The stories are gripping, interesting, and entertaining, but it's the characters that make me keep coming back for more.
If you enjoy magic, mayhem, and close family ties you will enjoy these stories.
The feels are strong in this one, and I can't get enough of the Grimlock's and company!
To say I highly recommend this book would be an understatement!

Nothing like a grim story

Grimlock reapers that is. This is my favorite series. I enjoy the Grimlock family antics as much as the adventures they have. If there was ever a totally dysfunctional, loving spoiled family who manage to make you laugh, worry and hold your interest; this is it. Each member is a strong character and adds something to the plot although
Aisling and Jerry are my favorite. Enjoy them and read them all starting with the grim series so you don't miss a one.

Love this series.

Since this is a reread I decided to go with the omnibus editions from KU, and what can I say, I have so much fun with these characters. Love Izzy and Aisling, Brayden is a lot more palatable, and Lily is adorable. This volume covers the first 3 books, and although I like each book to a different degree, in all I give this 4 stars. Definitely recommend reading the Aisling Grimlock series first as this will give you all the players and the story to date.

Highly recommend this series.

So great

This is somewhat a continuation of the Grim Tales so definitely start with them but these are so good and Amanda explains the Grim high points and low points in retrospect. Izzy is an amazing character almost a mix of her females but much more “put together” and sure of herself. I could go on and on but you will have to wrap yourself into the Grim world yourself. Do it...

Good plot, unrealistic characters

I enjoyed the plot but skipped a lot of dialog. The multitude of narcissist characters was tiring and I found myself skipping large sections of the book, sometimes multiple chapters at a time.
Author should tone down the "it's all about me" in so many characters and develop characters that are more realistic. A little snark is okay, but when it goes on the page after page it is sloppy writing.

Supernatural fantasy

I am really enjoying Izzy and her interactions with the Grimlocks. Izzy lived in Detroit until her parents were killed and she has just returned to find out what happened to them and be the gatekeeper. The gate starts acting up immediately and eventually leads to information about a future crisis. Old characters from other Amanda Lee series interact which always makes me happy.

The last one killed me.

I snorted, Snotted, and bawled. I know there is a perception that making people laugh is harder than making them cry, but I’m not sure that’s true. Everything sets people off, I still can’t watch ‘old yeller’. However, know all that theGrimlocks have gone thru... this last book about split my heart in two.

Read it. You’ll never be the same.

Excellent Book!

This book, although three separate books is fantastic! The storylines, the characters are interesting and fun. At times, I was laughing out loud, and others my eyes filled with tears, both happy and sad. I highly recommend this Series!

Feel good mystery

Izzy and the Grimlock's what's not to love. A mystery, a love story and lots of fighting and let's not forget lots of food.

Great New Series

This omnibus is truly a tremendous effort. It has arguably the best cast of characters I've read in a long while especially Aisling and new comer Izzy.

Dubious

Not enough monsters and too much arguing at inappropriate times. To much anger and too much indignation. I rolled my eyes a lot.

DNF. Could not continue anymore, the story is just some random events and the characters are one sided and annoying.

Love these books and they were all great. I bought this group to read the last book as I had read the previous.
Book 1 Only The Lonely A great read. I really liked Izzy and am happy we will get more of her. It was great having the Grimlocks in the book, though I wish Jerry had at least a few more paragraphs.
Interested in seeing how Oliver is developed, as well as Izzy's powers. Also glad Madame Maxine was in the book and that we may see her as a regular fixture.

Book 2 Only The Quiet This is great. I really like Izzy and this was a great continuation of the previous book. It takes place a few weeks after. The story was absorbing and her romance relationship with the Grimlocks developed further. Great scenes and cuteness with baby Lily.

Loved the introduction of Bret and the further development of Oliver. Not as much snark but would say the perfect amount of it and sass. New development with Angelina which was interesting and entertaining; hopefully more to come (she is a pitiful love to "dislike" kind of character). Her character development has been just great.

Izzy eenie meenie miney moed (basically) her new hire on the last couple of pages. Most guesses or (hopes) by fans was chosen. It will be great to see the character in a new setting and see where it might lead. Especially since the character is a fan favorite. This character's children may be Lily age'ish so maybe some common ground with Aisling (which I struggled to force myself to pronounce her name correctly [I'd been thinking Ayz'ling], Cillian was easier as I thought Kill e an half the time). She may still revert in my brain, but it is my brain after all.

Book 3 Only the Lost This was another great book. I loved seeing Paris and Sami plus Bob and Aric with a mention of Zoe. I always love when the characters from other books are mentioned.

5 people show up after a Gate malfunction having disappeared 60 years before during another Gate malfunction. They haven't aged and don't remember anything. So the mystery of what happened then and now as Izzy had a vision with the current malfunction and saw them on the other side of the Gate. What does that mean? Izzy and the Grimlocks are up for the challenge.
There is a unexpected loss of a Grimlock (Thank goodness for Grim Vows (Aisling Grimlock Book 9) which has the afterward and let us know things will be all right for a while at least [Lily was like 5 right]). lol It leads to a interesting dynamic and we see Jerry showing strength and love. I miss seeing Jerry more.
There is great character interaction and Paris looks like she will fit right in.

As always super enjoy all of Amanda M Lee's books and her books as under Lily Harper Hart and recommend them as well as this fun newish series.
