Technically h is still a virgin. H was not celibate and married another woman during separation and she dies. He was not a manwhore during separation and had been celibate a long time before seeing h again. h was celibate for the 10 year separation.

This was fairly good. The story was pretty well written. There were bits that I felt could have been better. For example, the time line is pretty vague. You never know how long the hero has been in a wheelchair, how long ago was the accident. There was only one vague mention of how it happened. He fell off a horse? I think when you're talking about a life long rancher, you need to explain how that happened. Cowboys don't just arbitrarily fall off their horses. So more explanantion needed there.

Her emotions were dealt with better and were more believable than his. A girl he dated a little bit 10 years ago had such a hold that he'd loved her all this time? They weren't even childhood friends. Maybe if there had been a flashback of them together then it would have been more believable.

It was pretty good for all that.

Trigger warning-

This is my first book that I’ve read from Kay and it was a pretty good read. I enjoyed this book enough to have bought the rest in this series, but I am disappointed in the blurb. The blurb is mostly correct about its description the thing it fails to mention is that Grace is a victim of childhood sexual and physical abuse, her stepfather beats her and her brother and rapes her. Then towards the end of the story a farm hand attempts to rape Grace. There are no trigger warnings in the blurb for this...be warned.

Now as far as the meat of the story it was really good. Grace and Seth have had a past together, but when Seth hinted that he wanted more from Grace she bolts from Montana. Ten years later she returns to become Seth’s physical therapist after his horse accident. At first he is very angry that his brother sought her out and got her to agree to this, but as time goes on Seth realizes that this is exactly what he needs. He needs Grace to help him heal physically from the accident and emotionally from the abrupt breakup 10 years earlier. But with all of Grace’s fears and insecurities will they ever truly have a future together?

Loved the concept of this story and the way it built. Really enjoyable characters but for someone whose accident was caused by a horse, would have loved to see a horse aspect explored instead of just mentioned.

Wow! This book gave me all the feels! I was rooting for Seth and Grace since the beginning. I was happy that he never gave on her since she had to deal with her past. Also she never gave on him when he didn’t want her help. They both helped each other heal which was beautiful to see. The ending was beautiful and sweet! 💛

So not what I expected. Beautiful story about two people facing their demons and learning to live again. It's been a while since I read such a simple yet complicated story. There was no need for hot sex scenes. The growing intimacy between seth abd grace was all this story needed to make it wonderful. Recommended

Dual Hurts, Dual Healing, Delightful Read!

Kay Lyons opens her Montana Secrets series with an absorbing tale of hurts, healing, misjudgment, betrayal, and adorable children. Keep your eyes—and heart—open for clues to the two secrets. I figured out one of them; the second I never saw coming!
Seth Monroe, a ranch owner, is paralyzed after a riding accident and refuses to try moving, deciding that the doctors who said he would walk were wrong. He’s scared off six physical therapists before his brother Jake hires Grace Korbit to help him recover.
Grace has grit and won’t let Seth give up. She also has a history with her patient, in which he wanted to marry her and she ran away from him with her younger brother. Seth understandably resents her, and she tricks him into trying to improve by telling him the sooner he gets better, the sooner he can get rid of her.
Hints all over the story point to Grace being an abuse survivor, then a survivor of molestation, then rape by her stepfather. Her horrific experience explains why she ran away and took her brother to prevent him from being beaten in her place. When she confesses the truth to Seth, he knows she wasn’t running away from him so much as running from love when the only “love” she knew was damaging and terrifying.
Grace wonders why Seth has an aversion to his late wife’s studio. Jake has no desire to live there, and his wife Maura blames Seth for letting Arie drive after an argument and crashing into a tree. Grace thinks he can’t bear to be near her paintings because he still carries a torch for her. But Seth explains that Arie was twisted and nearly stabbed his baby niece Lexi as she slept. Their final argument involved confrontation, attempted murder, screaming, and Arie’s death, which both Jake and Seth considered suicide. Seth says he now knows the difference between love and infatuation, and he loves Grace. Grace discovers that she loves him back. Through calling her secret “rape” and his secret “guilt”, they find mutual healing.
Grace’s trials aren’t over, however. After rescuing five-year-old cat-lover Lexi from perching on a barn rafter, Grace finds herself alone with a ranch hand who drank with her stepfather and makes her uncomfortable. Only her brother, who arrived for a surprise Christmas visit, can climb into the hayloft to see his sister after her fight with another would-be attacker. She wasn’t raped then, but the sheriff’s deputy took notes and charged the ranch hand with attempted rape and assault. He’s in prison when Seth and Grace get married.
Healing Her Cowboy explores the parallel journeys of a girl trying to escape a past she never chose and a man trying to escape a present he didn’t choose either. It’s something I’d recommend to anyone who isn’t triggered by descriptions and depiction of sexual assault. Fans of cute kittens and the children who love them will enjoy this book especially!

Grace and Seth

Grace is having a hard enough time did her best friend Jake have to call her and ask her to come back to Montana to help with his brother Seth, the one man who she never thought she'd see again, especially after the way she left 10 years ago. She and her brother Brent are safe now so she decides it's time especially after Jake's sweet daughter Lexi followed up on her daddy's call by hitting redial and begging her to come and help her Uncle Seth get better. Since she also lost her Aunt Aria, Seth's wife. Who could say no to a precious 5 year old? Things start out just as Grace expected, since Seth had already been through four physical therapists before she got there, which Jake had "forgotten" to tell her. She expected everything he was throwing at her, including how she would never get him better! However, neither of them expected their past to come into play, but thankfully it does, but not necessarily for the better. Then she runs into Roy Bernard, her step-daddy Earl Korbet's friend. Grace can't believe it, Roy seems to know what Earl did to her, but how? Earl always talked like it was his secret! Thank God Earl's dead! Or she never would have come back! But is Roy as big a threat to her? Then when she finds Lexi alone with him in the barn with the kittens...she can't hardly breathe! Plus, Roy is making her very uncomfortable with the things he's saying, so only she hears! Things are going very well now that Seth has accepted she's there to help him and even can see some progress! Then everything breaks loose, Maura goes into labor on the night of the first snowstorm of the season and they can't get through to emergency services, Seth "feels" his legs and while standing at the parallel bars, Lexi is so excited to see him standing barrel's into him from behind and causes him to lose his balance and topples on top of Grace and screams at her to get off as it hurts! Thankfully Brent is there. Grace finds Lexi in the barn rafters and Roy is trying to get her down! Things go from bad to worse from there! You really need to read this great story by Kay Lyons to find out all the details!

Healing Her Cowboy is a second chance for Grace and Seth. I didn't mind Grace, but I really did not like Seth from the very start. I think this first impression sullied my view on him even when he started to get better. I also didn't buy the connection between these two because he was so pushy with her. I wish we had gotten like a one or two chapter prologue in the beginning of them as teens so we could see the start of their romance. I just couldn't buy that a 17 year old and 21 year old had such a magnetic connection that 10 years later they still are in love. Were they even in love the first time? Because from my understanding, they weren't together very long and Grace was pushing him away the whole time. I think we also needed a bit more detail of Seth's accident. We get that he fell off a horse but no explanations as to how this happened or how long ago the accident was. The conflict of the story happens fast and is over with fairly quickly, and then the book abruptly ends with them getting married. I would have liked some more development with them as just a couple before that but I guess at least Grace gets her HEA. Other than that, the book needs some editing work for grammar issues.

This was a good story, but was missing some things for me. Some of the timeline references didn’t add up. There probably could have been a little more editing...silly, but the cat was a girl and a boy at some points of the story.

This was a story about old loves coming together again...(but again...timeline was not clear). Seth and Grace had a romantic history, she abruptly left and he never knew why...now he needs her help to recover from an injury that has left him paralyzed.

Seth is angry and feeling sorry for himself. His brother, Jake, calls on Grace to come help him recover. Grace is a physical therapist who left this town years ago (?) because of a childhood trauma (which was awful and made me understand why she left). Seth doesn’t want her here and she is struggling with being back here.

This story has some wonderful and heartwarming moments. I truly loved them together and the secondary characters added to the story for the most part. There was mystery, heartache, romance and a few surprises. I just wish a better job of some of the time frames was told. It left things a bit confusing at times. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the second book I have read by Kay about physical impairment, but this one has to do with the person with the disability helping another person.

The problems/backstory of each of these characters was a little overwhelming, almost too much to really focus on the growing feelings between Seth and Grace. Also, Seth is so volatile at the beginning, that his transformation to someone Grace felt totally safe with took a lot of time, causing the story (and the characters) to feel stuck on repeat. My biggest issue, though, is the ‘temporary’ paralysis thing. That’s an extremely rare condition (even more rare to be caused by a fall) and not something doctors or physical therapists would promise a patient (Seth). To me, his ‘recovery’ just wasn’t believable; I would have preferred he come to terms with and show us readers a character living a fulfilling life from a wheelchair. In sum, the whole story, while OK, didn’t fully hold together for me.

First off, I would just like to say that I did really like this book, as it was a story about perserverance and overcoming severe trauma. However, I wish that it had come with a trigger warning about the sensitive nature of Grace's past, because had I known, I don't think I would have read it or I would have read it, but been prepared for what I was about to read.

I liked the relationship between Grace and Seth, and of course his family. I would just have liked more content explaining what had happend to Seth before Grace reappeard in his life and how he got hurt - other than he wad thrown from a horse. But over all it was a good read about how two broken souls found each other and began to heal their hurts and past.

I came upon this writer in a free book promo and I will most definitely will be reading more of her work. Two people with a past filled with secrets, come together after an accident and both end up helping the other heal. One robbed of their love and livelihood and the other of their innocents and the nightmare that won't let them go forward to the future.
As stated before, there are some intense realities in this book but there's also talk of much counseling, patience other methods of help that were sought by those affected. The writer handled it with sensitivity.
I do recommend this one.

I enjoyed this story so much that I stayed up very late to finish it! Seth and Grace have a past together and it did not end well for either of them. Ten years later, Grace is a therapist and called upon to help Seth after a serious accident leaves him in a wheelchair. He is defiant, but she begins to crack the shell that keeps him prisoner. As Seth starts forgetting about his own issues, he persistently starts trying to help Grace conquer her own demons from the past. I love the secondary characters who notice the sparks that fly between Seth and Grace and encourage their mutual healing. Great read and I look forward to more from Kay Lyons!

Throughout the book, I felt there was something missing and couldn't put my finger on it even up till the end.

I find it hard to believe that teenagers still hold a torch for each other after 10 years.

Grace had a horrendous experience in her childhood. Although not revealed until later in the story, the reader would have already guessed what it was sooner, so hinting at it just made the story drag on.

Seth's legs are crippled and he's been grumpy about it for so long and through many therapists. But then he suddenly has a change of heart and wants to get better. Nothing actually happens for him to want to do so.

It was a great story. I love how Grace coming back to help Seth works in the story, and I even love the tease at how long it took to revel Seth's secrets and Graces full story. I loved the start, but felt like I had missed reading something occasionally, but then realized the secrets weren't made known yet. I really wanted to give a 4 star rating but due to some of the scattered bits of history, I had to stop and wonder if I had missed things slightly taking away from how great the story actually was. Make no mistakes, it's a fantastic read. Very heartwarming and happy there wasn't anything too emotionally straining beyond the anger and healing that was taking place.

Two broken people find love

Against her better judgement Grace returns to Montana to be the therapist for her old boyfriend, Seth. He is bitter and uncooperative. As she battles to get him to therapy, something begins to happen between them. This is a story of the evil of secrets and second chances. Please be aware this story deals with sexual child abuse in a non explicit way but it may be a trigger for anyone who has lived through that. It was a well written, powerfully emotional story about becoming more than evil doers from the past made Grace believe she was. Highly recommended.

This was another wonderful heartfelt story by a master storyteller. The author skillfully drew her readers into the story as she slowly introduced characters and background information. Grace and Seth had a history. Everything became so much more complicated when their past resurfaced as nightmares and haunted thought that dogged them constantly. Two struggling people with handicaps, both physical and emotional, trying desperately to find each other again and build a life together. Did they have the strength? I Just loved this story. They fell in love years ago but she left town when he wanted physical. But he has loved her, even though he married and had a child with someone else, who died in an accident. An injury at his farm has disabled him and his brother has taken over the farm running along with his wife (sister to his diseased wife) and child. Bro has found her and that she is a physical therapist and convinced her to come make him do therapy. This is their story, culiminating in her confession of her history and how current situation is a repeat … almost. And HEA. Well written. Upsetting content.

Dual healing

As a therapist, Grace was employed by Jake and Maura to rehabilitate Jake's paraplegic brother, Seth. Seth was in a bad place. He was filled with self-pity, shut in his dirty dark smelly bedroom. He was foul-tempered, not even caring if he hurt Lexi, his little niece. Grace soon worked wonders, helped by their previous attraction for each other. Gracè had big issues. Seth was just the right person to help and heal. An enjoyable story. Recommended.

Love brings healing

I loved this book and had trouble putting it down after I started reading it. Grace and Seth both have secrets from their past, and their love for each other helps in the healing process both mentally and physically. Even though this is a part of a series, it is a standalone with a HEA. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy clean romance.

Dealing with the pain.

A story that deals with the pain and anger of a cowboy with a debilitating injury. After a number of physical therapist have given up and left, a new one , a former girlfriend is hired as a last resort. A wonderful and exciting story , I recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this book. The two main characters are both big personalities that although are fine alone, need each other in different ways. It is good to see the transformation of the lead male character. Both characters are true to life and are representative of what they would be like in real life.

Seth has a wounded cowboy body and has become a recluse. Grace is a physical therapist with a wounded past that she cannot escape. Both seem to be hopeless, self inflicted walls are hard to escape. The uncomfortable situation can give them a healing balm, if they will only let it.
