Not really a book more like a workbook. I would have appreciated more writing from the author and I could do without all the patterns. I’m not sure who this would be helpful to the way it is currently written. It was a good idea that didn’t seem to be fleshed out well.

Great guide for knitters. Yes, there are patterns, but it’s more about the knitting practice and lifestyle.
Written by the creator of Knit Stars and Loops LYS as well as the Loops Together online community. The book repeats many of the online videos and guides... tips for navigating the learning process, wrangling your stash and WIPs and planning gift knitting. All done in flexible ways - pointing you in the right direction while allowing you to find the best method for your style.
Highly recommend this for knitters who want to learn more about the lifestyle and figure out how to manage their hobby.

Disappointed

This book is great for the knitter but not the crocheter (me!). I understand there are a lot of knitters in the world but there are just as many crocheters. All the links go to pages for knitters; 98% of the patterns printed in the book are for knitters. The title says nothing about this being “just for knitters” because if it had, I NEVER would have bothered with it. I kept hoping there would be some section just for crochet but crochet was only mentioned as an afterthought.

I was looking forward to reading Shelley Brander’s Untangled: A step-by-step guide to joy and success for the modern yarn lover but was somewhat disappointed. I’m glad I bought the book on sale because I only gleaned a few tips from this knitting book/workbook. The print should have been darker and some of the photos were too small and of poor quality to be of much use. It may be more helpful to a beginning knitter.

Notes for a real book.

Glad this was a free Kindle Unlimited read. Had I read this book first, I would not gone on to read Shelley Brander's 2nd book "Move the Needle" first. This was just a another one of her many dives into research and speculation on a future project. Of no value to someone interested in learning the ropes of living life or being an entrepreneur.

Great knitting experience!!!

What an excellent first book! Innovative, informative, unique and creative. Shelley has written a book in a format I have never seen before. The techniques, patterns, and workshops have all been tested in her very own knitting store. I will attest to the success of all these endeavors, it's helped me tremendously. This is a book for all levels of knitters, with tips and patterns for everyone. The challenges most all knitters face are addressed and conquered in this book. A must read for anyone looking to improve their knitting ability and move forward to the next level. I certainly have progressed to a much higher and satisfying level of knitting due to Shelley's book. Her positive attitude will grab you and help with improved confidence. Can't wait for her second book!!!

Hmmm. Not what I expected or wanted. Very elementary and school-book. But wow! Full of great patterns!
