About the author

Teodor Kirillovich Gladkov was a Russian writer, a member of the Writers' Union of Russia, the International Union of Journalists, the Society for the Study of the History of Russian Special Services, a full member of the Academy for the Study of National Security Problems. Author of over 30 literary works, television and radio broadcasts, and has also been a consultant to many feature and documentary films. He was buried at the Vvedenskoye cemetery.

Theodor Gladkov graduated from the Philosophy Faculty of Moscow State University in 1955. He worked in the central press, on radio and television. Repeatedly traveled to "hot spots" in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Ethiopia and other countries. Gladkov is the author of the documentary novels "The Girl from Rzhev", "The Interrupted Jump" and the works of art "The Last Action of Lorenz" (co-authored with A. Sergeev), "Tales of Colonel Cooper" (together with B. Steklyar), "The Refugee". In recent years, "Secrets of the Special Services of the Third Reich", books of the series "Life of Remarkable People" have been published: about V.R.Menzhinsky, D.N.Medvedev, A.M. Korotkov, A. Kh. Artuzov, the country's first book about the outstanding intelligence officer Yakov Golos and others.
