Quintessence: The Sequel

Sascha’s been in love with five men for over three years.

She’s no longer a housekeeper.

They’re no longer her bosses.

But that doesn’t mean the thrill has gone. Not with an eminent criminologist, two Nobel Prize-winning statisticians, an economist with Bratva ties, and a Pulitzer Prize-winning author who’s just about to make it into Hollywood.

No, sirree. Things are definitely not quiet.

Find out how life’s treating Sascha, Sawyer, Andrei, Sean, Kurt, and Devon in this, the Quintessence Sequel: SAWYER.

Please be advised, Sawyer does contain scenes that may be upsetting to sensitive readers.

Read other books from this author in the future: not this series, but other books

I was very excited about the sixth book of the Quintessence series Sawyer. While the first five volumes had tied me up so much that I couldn't put them out of my hands, I felt bored with the 6th book. The title leads to the conclusion that the book concentrates on the story of Sawyer, instead the story makes a leap in time. The six have already become parents of a boy and Sasha is pregnant with child no. 2.
First it's about Sasha's pregnancy needs, then she loses the child and everyone grieves. And perhaps the Noble Helper is anything but a noble helper but perhaps a kidnapper?
With the three sentences everything essential can be summarized in this book.
As much as I liked the first five books of the series, the 6th book doesn't tempt me to read on, even though it ends on a cliffhanger.

Deutsche Rezension:

I'm done.
You ah, I don't Luke this book.
This book is the end of the series for me.
Maybe is we didn't have to live through the fantasy of Veronia, then things would have been different but, I want a book that is engaging, not 50% of the book being about a blow job... Anyway, happy new year to all. I'm off to hunt down a book and pray this book hasn't put me into a book slump already!

- Heroine: Sascha
- Harem: Sean, Sawyer, Kurt, Andrei, Devon
- POVs Included: Multiple POVs (Sascha, Sawyer)
- Book Playlist (Reverse Harem Romance Playlist)

-----------------------------------
-----------------------------------
SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

It’s been nearly four years since Sascha met her men. And they’ve been happy. They have a two year old little boy together (Valentin, Tin for short) and Sascha is pregnant with their second child.

But while they’re on a visit to Sawyer’s parents in Glasgow, Sascha has a nasty fall that results in a devastating miscarriage.

Now Sascha and the guys are mourning the loss of their second child. Each of them are mourning in different ways, but as a family are trying to hold each other together.

-----------------------------------
-----------------------------------
REVIEW:

This one was rather depressing. The subject matter was tough. I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from this second group of books considering the big time jump. But a tragic miscarriage definitely wasn’t what I was expecting.

As someone who has had a miscarriage this was hard to read about. And Sascha’s miscarriage isn’t even an early miscarriage due to unforeseen complications. She was five months pregnant and it was a miscarriage due to the trauma of a fall when she slips on ice. It’s so sad!

So the whole book is rather depressing. I’m not sure where this plot arc is going, but hoping for it to turn a little less depressing.

Overall it was certainly an emotional book. But I wasn’t expecting it to be so sad. Hopefully the coming books will veer towards happier times. :-/

A Reverse Harem sequel that hurts the heart

The first part of this series was written brilliantly and I fell in love with this household of genius men who bonded together to build a family. Gifted and brilliant men who devoted their lives to helping science and society decided that individually they would be rubbish boyfriends, but together the five of them would be perfect for one woman.

At the end of the first series everything was fantastic and all the problems were solved, but this series of sequels starts four years later. Things have moved on and they are happy with their delightfully brilliant toddler and a second child on the way. Then real life creeps in.

A very difficult subject matter is handled deftly, revealing true emotion. Something devastating in a 1 man/1 woman relationship is also devastating to 5 men and because they are have genius level IQs does not make them immune to handling things badly.

It’s a great start to the sequels and I highly recommend reading the first series first, if you haven’t already, for it all to make sense.

Heart wrenching..

If you have read the Quintessence series so far then this book goes further into their life. Sasha and her 5 men (Sawyer, Sean, Kurt, Devon, and Aundrei) go through something in this story that pulls very close to your heart. As a deep burning sadness fills their life, changes are happening in their world that will have you on a roller coaster of feelings. If your not prepared for a story that just pulls you in and makes you feel all they feel then this book isn't for you. But if you are one that gets into feeling the whole story, then buckle up for this story will leave you wanting to know more while it takes your heart all at the same time.

Absolutely brilliant. The emotions felt while reading this book are unreal. Or rather, TOO real. The characters have shown growth and maturity from the previous books, as is natural since time has passed, and it is enlightening to see a sort of "where are they now?" look into their lives. This book is a bit darker than her other novels, but she pulls it off so well. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, and actually reread it immediately. I can't wait for the next in the series.

Heading different directions

This is getting a little crazy with what happened. I'm not happy about that but hey the author decided to do that. However this is getting to the point where it was more than I bargained for. I'm a little disappointed that the author is getting into more BDSM genre because it's not my cup of tea and I'm going to miss it. I figure I can read more just to find out really what's going on the the characters.

Ladies grab the tissues and buckle in.

So this sequel is set 3 years after the birth of their first child Valentin or Tin for short. It's starts of with a truly steamy scene and we find out that our FMC has some exciting news.
Then out of know where BAM! Something happens and I couldn't hold the tears in - my gosh Serena. If you don't cry or shed a tear in this sequel then, well I commend you.

This book was definitely a roller coaster of emotions.
I was happy to be able to know what happens to Sascha and her men after the pregnancy and how all of them were just in love with their son and that she was pregnant again for the second.
Then i felt the sadness that the whole group felt about the loss.

I was starting to get a bit bored with the book and was finding it hard to finish the book but im glad i did cause now i can’t wait to read the next one

This was emotional read. Especially about losing a child, as I did lost mine 6 months ago (10 weeks pregnant, so not that horrible as 5 months pregnant) . So that was super sad but I loved how Serena wrote about this loss and how they all started to accuse themselves. It's so point on.

This book definitely was very emotional and about healing. I didn't understand who was that guy who helped her and what is his role or is there any role? I hope that point will come.

‘She had such power over them, but she never, ever took advantage of it.’

This story begins 4 years later. They were probably short stories that came out before but bundled together now.

Our cutie Tin (age 2) is the center of his daddies and Mommy’s life. There is a very sad moment so be prepared to ugly cry and look up the trigger warnings if you have any.

A relationship like this is tough to maintain and really enjoyed getting more of these characters!

Its GREAT!

I was so excited about a sequel and this just proved i had every right to be. Even with the sad parts there is no hiding all the love these 6 feel for each other. The cliffhanger was very interesting and uncharacteristic for the character. And i think said character just solved Seans case. Cant wait for the next installment. I highly recommend this author

Sawyer

Sawyer returns us to Sascha and her men a few years later. They are still happily together and have a young son. The men's personal dynamics and their relationships with Sascha are changed by a shocking accident but they pull together to work through it. I love the feel of these books and enjoyed spending time with these characters again.

Holy Moly

My emotions. What have you done, Serena?! I had all the feels. This book was brilliant and hit the nuances of different personalities and their reactions to grief so hard. It is now 11pm and, because of that cliff hanger, I will be starting the next book in the series.... right now.

Utterly heart breaking

I spent most of this book silently sobbing. It was utterly heart breaking and yet so beautifully written. It was written with grace and love and though I've never had to deal with the events of this book it totally broke me just reading it. You did the storyline justice serena.

Here we go again for more of Sascha with her men and it doesn’t disappoint! This book focuses on Sawyer, but as always with him, Devon is at the core of it. This lays down the path for another brilliant story. The plot is heartbreaking but the love is soothing! It ends in a cliffhanger... of course! Thank God we don’t have to wait!

Loved it!

I loved the first Quintessence series so I was so happy to see a continuation of the story! I love that we’re seeing this relationship a few years later, and how life goes on with Sacha and her men. My only complaint was that it was too short!

Gut wrenching but wonderful

What a way to continue the story but by giving us a great start with sexy fun times then tear our hearts to pieces. I loved every second of it though and cannot wait for the next one.

OMG!!

I didn’t realize this was going to be a sniffle book let alone an out and out bawling book! It takes a good writer to evoke passion and grief in the minds of their readers, and I hope sincerely that’s the last one like that I read for awhile! My goodness!!!

There are two parts of this book. The first is bright, funny and sexy, whereas the second has an event taking place that changes the life of all 6 of them. It is gut-wrenching and tear-jerking but very beautifully written. And as always, nothing is simple when there are 5 geniuses in the house.

This book is not a standalone. While to some extent it can be read without reading the previous books in the series, it ends on a cliffhanger.
