Settling down with each other is naturally what comes after being dorm neighbors for years. It’s time to navigate through adulthood together, to live the daily grind of being pro-heroes, to learn more than they thought they’d like to know about each other, about themselves.
Or how Bakugou and Kirishima find a way to call each other “home” and struggle with the realization that once all their bills are on auto-pay, the only thing they still have to deal with is this pit full of feelings they have ignored for too long.
“This view alone is worth coming back home in one piece. Bakugou has this body Kirishima knows by heart, this aura he constantly looks for, this presence warm as a bonfire. This is where home is, in Bakugou's slow breathing, in the back of this neck Kirishima wants to kiss, in these hands that always find a way to make it all better. Like a thief alone in a throne room, Kirishima pauses for a second just to contemplate his luck, to soak in the beauty of it all. All that gold and all that glow - in this apartment it's not much, the white of the walls has badly aged, the stove doesn't shine, but Kirishima feels it around him all the same. It's all his to bask in and it's all thanks to Bakugou.” gaahh!!! this was so beautifully written im seriously in awe :( what a wonderfully executed piece of art i want this tattooed onto my soul
I never really review fanfics but since I have fans now, I’m going to let you in on my thoughts.
I get it, fanfic is somewhat cringy and downright daunting to the few who look down on it from the outside. But if you ever want to try it, start here. Even if you don’t know Bakuguo and Kirishima, even if you’ve never watched MHA, even if you are a diehard BKDK shipper.
This reads like I just stared into the soul of another, a stranger I’ve never met before but now know everything that’s ever broken and repaired their heart. The depth of the storytelling, the switching of point of views, the rise of complex emotions with the finality of reciprocated, unwavering feelings. I am sat and completely mesmerized.
Author, I love you, I’m begging for you to say it back.
