Gianni Holmes is a romance author who never outgrew her childhood love of stories. She just started writing her own. She penned her first romance novel in seventh grade and never looked back. In high school, she was that girl: ripping pages out of her English exercise books to write her latest love story the old-fashioned way. She’s best known for her fan-favorite series The Grimm Tales of Smoky Vale and The Taking Care series, two very different worlds, both full of complicated men, emotional moments, and unforgettable love stories. When she’s not writing, Gianni likes to study foreign languages. You can keep in touch with her in the following places:
I like David, sort of, not everyone deserves a story of their own. David was a nice background character, honestly dear Holmes invested so hard in Dec and Owen that even Owens kids seem a little one dimensional.
This would have been a nice freebie. It would have been a lot of things as it is, it feels like a work up to see if there was enough interest to do something more with this characters.
Must be read after the Take Care series to get the full effect. Loved this quick read with its hot role play and great characters! Very sexy and beautiful in its acceptance of who each other were and how they made each other bloom. Adorably sexy!
1.5 stars rounded down because this really did wander off any kind of pacing in the second half--which is saying something for a less-than-100-pages novella.
For this story being built around the plot line of David misleading Pierce about his career, there wasn’t much of an emphasis about it in the story. I think David would have left Pierce’s bed and gone home even if there was no deception. What a hot hookup it was! I like roleplay in romance and this was très down and dirty. Did the author name him ‘Pierce’ as a cute joke? I thank them for the description of that decorated dick! The story had pretty good depth of characters for being short. I would have liked to know if Pierce made it into art school. I wish the Owen and Declan stories had them just with each other instead of the horrible kiddos and ex, *shudder* I would have read more than just the first one. Well, anyway, I enjoyed this.
