A blast from the past changed my life. The day I got the phone call that catapulted me back in time Was something I never wanted. I still went back, to a place I hadn’t lived in so long, To see a person, I had loved all of my adult live, Finding out secrets, that under different circumstances would never have been told, It wasn’t just my life that was about to change. I made a promise on that fateful night, One that I will do anything to keep or die trying.
This is an excuse for book most boring, ridiculous and purposeless I've ever read! Just pleeeeease try and tell me what this shit is, because there is no fundamental for this crap.
Overall this was a good read, but it took some getting there, it's labelled as an MC romance, no it's not the MC part really doesn't come into it until at least 2/3 of the way in, what we have is a very long winded and over explained and to many points of view tale, of lost love, death forgiveness I suppose, I don't know if the writer is English or not but trying to mix American and English did not work. Some parts of the MC I loved some I didn't. The worst part for me was it ended on a cliff hanger and that I HATE. There was no conclusion to the story, so unless this is a series were we are following the life of Kyra which if true should have been stated then the book was a complete waste of time. The writing is good but it doesn't flow, I am been to critical for a new author but Its my money and to sit for over 4 and half hours in a long winded story was not nice, I nearly give up twice. There are some good points to the story, the family aspect especially between Beth's family was lovely. Kyra took some getting used to a bit spoilt. and very accepting. Shaun for a leader of a MC was a bit of a wimp. The girls just up and leaving to live in America just wouldn't have happened you need visa's and papers. Ben been added to the story line didn't make no sense, not with out a better explanation. The grandparents turning up, who told them?, why were they there? To many unanswered questions, This had the makings of an epic story but sadly missed. To much going on to follow the story properly. I will read book 2 if it comes out, but only to see if it is a series.
For a first book I think Dee Rose writes a really good story. The depth of each character had me keep turning the page. It was a little slow to begin with but I liked the way it built up each character giving you the background and a little insight. At points I got that engrossed it was hard not to feel the emotions that the story evoked even shedding a tear or two. I like the way it leads into the next book and cant wait to read it. I thank my friend for sending me this to read it helped pass some long lockdown days and sleepless nights. Will be followong and reading mkoe from this author to see where her story telling takes us next
Story line was good, but a lot of details that were not needed causing me to skip paragraphs. Confusing trying to keep up with who was actually speaking because in the middle of one character's POV, it seemed to switch to another, and I normally don't ever include comments about grammar or spelling mistakes but there were so many that I almost didn't finish the book and feel they should have been caught by the editor along with mistakes such as repeated words that would cause the sentence to not make sense Again the story has potential, and I would try reading book 2
I think this could have been a good book, but there were too many POV's, way to many little details that could have been left out, the writing was not very well thought out. When crossing over from the US to the UK the way things were said didn't flow with the change. If the next book is written and edited better I would love to read it.
I can't believe that this is the first book by this author I was transported straight away into it. Kyra is a strong character and losing her mother hit her very hard, but as you will find out when reading this book other factors happen to help her with the grieving process. I can't wait to see what happens to her in the next book and it is a book that I really recommend it is worth 5* definitely
First of,I found myself skipping lots, just too much filler, repeated parts from different pov, didnt need it,not unnecessary info about putting cups in sinks etc,got boring. Also lots of spelling and grammar mistakes throughout. Also, big chunk is set in usa,so really need to change the English words, only the ones from uk would use 'mum' the American characters would use 'mom' ,worth changing if you want book to feel more real.
An excellent beginning to a new series. I absolutely loved all the characters in this book. Kyra has started out in a new country with a Dad she never knew, luckily thing are smooth sailing but I see some trouble up ahead when she decides if her feelings for someone are real or just a girlish crush. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤
Not too bad, some aspects did not sit well with me. Having so many names similar got me a bit confused and the intermingling of club names and birth names got me a bit muddled as well. There were some parts that kept being repeated, just making things long winded. For a first book it was ok. Not sure if I want to read more, but then again lots of things seemed to be unresolved so perhaps I will.
I balled my eyes out. As you get further into the story when Kyra loses her mom I balled my eyes out as I just felt her pain, I lost my mom 2 years ago and it just felt like I was back in that moment. The story was well written and explained what happened to get each character to where they are by the end of it.
The storyline took a little bit to get into as it is advertised as an MC romance and I found there was not much of that I enjoyed the book but also found some errors in spelling, grammar mistakes and name changes in the middle of a paragraph that made it a bit confusing. I would read book two to follow up on what happened in the end of the book one.
When I found Dee Rose book on social media I decided to give it a read. Kyra family is a warming, loving story about a young girl name Kyra and her mom Liz. Her mom is dying and after 18 yrs she meets her father Shaun who is a president of MC club in the states. This book from start to finish full of power emotions and the journey of a young girl.
First time author does a really good job. The world building, the characters are very in depth. I really liked the book and am hoping for more. Will be watching for more from this author
not a hundred percent sure on my rating of this one. i definitely liked the story but there were a few places where the timeline seemed a bit out of sync and i found the writing style not to my liking
This was a new author for me and as a first book it was okay. My pet peeve cliff hanger I didn't know about. Lot of jumping from one couple to the next and not enough background story. It will be interesting to read the next book in series
I enjoyed this story but it really needs a good edit. Fun well rounded characters and a good mix of relationship and mc drama. The flow of the story was a bit off and the strange word use was off putting such as draw for drawers. I suspect it’s a regional dialect.
First time reading this author. The storyline was ok but it did seem to drag! I ended up skipping parts as there was quite a bit of repetitiveness, too much filler and the story from another POV. I will read the next book as the characters seem interesting.
