Javik is the fifth book of the Warriors of Vaznik, a stand alone series in the Warlord Brides universe. There's no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA for each couple!
Reader, dreamer and frantic scribbler. I really do believe that love conquers all... and make terrible things for my characters to survive to prove it! (insert evil laugh here)
I usually can finish these books with minimum skimming. I've usually left 3 stars but this one just didn't do it for me. It was pretty boring and I didn't like Addie at all. She used her brother as a crutch thought she could come in give him a baby and walk away with a million dollars for her and her brother to live off of and to me she was very selfish. I'm sure others would have a different opinion then myself but it just wasn't my kind of story.
ADULT Alpha Alien Male🐺🔪🔫 Romance 💕 and Human Matched Bride👰.
This isn't the typical ADULT mail order bride👰 for an Alien Warrior 🐺🔪🔫romance💕.
Addie, the product of a broken home💔, is tired of living with nearly nothing. After her parents abandoned her and her dysfunctional brother, John. She decides to apply for the bride👰 program, strictly for the money 💰. It's only for a year, right!
Javik🐺🔪🔫 is a Vaznik doctor research scientist aboard the vessel Calliope🚀 sent on a mission to retrieve a giant egg🐣, when Addie💃💋 is teleported into his life.
The giant "egg🐣" proceeds to get them both into a lot of unwanted situations.
Written in first person by AVA YORK & STARR HUNTRESS, Javik is book 5 of the VAZNIK WARRIORS series and switches perspectives between Javik and Addie. Based in a time where aliens are known to humans, and there is a lottery that selects females for compatibility testing to the Mahdfel warriors in exchange for protection against the enemy Suhlik.
Adaline (Addie) James and her brother John grew up poor. Their drug addicted parents left one night and never returned. Addie decided to volunteer for the lottery with a plan; meet her mate, get knocked up, give him the child his race so badly needed, then come back to Earth with the million dollars (that the lottery offered for successful offspring) for John and her to live off of. Her flawed plan backfired when Javik refused to go along with it, wanting forever with his mate.
Javik was the deep blue-skinned resident doctor and scientist of the Calliope, bred to be a Vaznik/Mahdfel warrior (slave to the Suhlik). The last of his crew to be matched by the lottery, he was a romantic at heart, wanting a mate for life. After Addie transported aboard, he was shocked but elated, until she revealed her emotionless plan to abandon him after birthing their child, then he played hard-to-get.
In this book, their mission was over and they were returning the artifact to command. Javik ran tests on the egg, but still had no idea what it was, what it was capable of or how it worked. Only that it would somehow end the war against the Suhlik. During a failed seduction date, both Javik and Addie touched the egg at the same time and were transported to another reality/dimension. Activating the device woke its protectors (ape-like destroyers) and they tracked/hunted the couple across the galaxy. Along their journey of running from the apes and figuring out how the artifact worked, the couple fell in love, regardless of their reluctance. He was reluctant to have sex without her love and she was reluctant to fall in love and get attached. The idea that Addie would've been able to leave her child is still beyond my brain capabilities. In the end, Javik wound up returning the egg to the ape creatures, making their entire mission all for nothing. Also, the book never told us what happened to her brother John after Addie decided to stay.
The Vaznik Mahdfel have mating tattoos that glow white when they are in the presence of their one true mate. Javik's mating tattoos glowed upon meeting Addie, confirming the lottery test results. The couple finally had intercourse for the first time around the 42% mark (the quickest yet). We were treated to three separate sexual encounters, all of which were filled with great passion. One of which was anal penetration, which blew my mind. I loved the raunch in this book the best, I just wish Javik came around sooner.
This book was much longer than necessary. The adventure to romance ratio was unbalanced and left wanting. Though I will admit, this book's adventure was more appealing. It was the first book in the series that actually left me not knowing what happened next, or being able to successfully predict what was really going on. I will speed read the final book because I'm already committed at this point, so may as well, even though I don't recommend this series; I'm apparently a glutton for punishment.

It's the good doctor's turn to find his mate and he's...kinda arrogant (because he's legitimately usually the smartest person in the room and he knows it) and totally ready to connect his life with his chosen one. Except Addie is just there to fulfill the terms of the mating contract, collect her payday, and head home. Which makes things a little rough for the big, blue guy.
Honestly, while I understand where Addie's idea to do whatever it took to get her money came from (being dirt poor with no one but herself to rely on means she simply doesn't know how to lean on others when she needs to), her approach to seducing Javik just so she could get pregnant was a little off putting. It took her a while to see him as more than the other half of the baby making machine and OUCH. Understandably, Javik took that hard.
The mystery of what the egg/artifact is gets cleared up, but not without a whole lot of collateral style damage. Javik and Addie get to see some interesting places in the galaxy, shed a little blood, and, you know, create a slice of a new reality. As one does.
The crew members of the Calliope are now all fully mated and their mission completed. Here's to hoping they don't get hammered too hard for the way everything turned out.
FINALLY! So the trick to finishing this book is to put it down around the half-way point, wait a year, and then finish it once you have forgotten how annoying Addie is.
This book's problem was Addie, she was so annoying! I felt bad also cause Javik was a sweet cupcake and he got the most annoying romantic interest. I really did put it down for months, and then forced myself to finish the last 25% of the book. I mean, Javik gets his happy ending and Addie finally realizes that her plan was stupid. Here come the spoilers.
Kabul is the last inmates crew member, he's the science officer and doctor. He's working on the artifact when Eddie is teleported to his lab from Earth. Eddie volunteers for the mating program with the idea of mate and pay, a means to take care of her older brother and herself and get them out of poverty. Once she meets her mate and he finds this out he goes into self protection mode and avoids her. She sets up a romantic dinner in his lab that turns into an argument while they are both touching the egg and end up in another plane of reality. When some Apelike creatures land and begin killing everyone they run for it, are teleported to a pleasure planet. They are becoming close and are falling in love when the apelike creatures show up again and in the end they find it really is an egg and from another dimension, they give it up to one of the creatures that send them back to the Calliopy. They turn around and find a crib has been sent with them. He texts her and she is pregnant and farther along than she should be. They profess their love for one another and that they'll never be separated. They tell their story to the rest of the crew and the loss of the egg.
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of JAVIK . This is a great Sci-fi romance . This story is book five in Vaznik warriors series . I really enjoyed reading it . Javik is the Space ship Calliope's resident doctor and scientist . He is also the last warrior on the ship to receive his mate in the matching agreement with humans . He has been longing to have a mate . Addie tired of struggling and not having enough decided to volunteer for the lottery . She would go have a baby get the promised money after fulfilling her part return to her planet . Of course she didn't expect to have a connection and fast growing feelings . Soon Javik and Addie are knee deep in adventure and danger . This story is steamy and action packed . I highly recommend taking the time to read this story .
The last thing Javik needed was a mate but he really wanted one all the other crew have there’s. He’s in his lab working to discover anything he can about the artifact that they recovered when the teleportation pad starts up he knows what it is right away. But he’s not prepared for Addie. Addie has volunteered for the program thinking she would just show up get pregnant have the baby then leave her mate and the baby and go back to earth to take care of her brother and have the money that goes to the family of the women. But thing really don’t go her way because the Vaznik warriors need there mates to stay because they mate forever. But thing change just by touching the artifact it sends they on a dangerous journey. So enjoy another good book in this series!!
I enjoyed this story, Javik reminded me of Sheldon a little bit, but way more attractive and lovable. Eddie was single-minded and damaged but it's fun to see her evolve. I wanted to go with five stars but after the trippy ale dudes, the details get distorted and harder to keep straight. It's an exciting story with interesting twists, kept my interest the whole way through, but towards the end the details get inconsistent. It's definitely worth the reading time though!
Javik is the scientist and doctor on the spaceship Calliope, and while examining the "egg" that they recovered in the last book he gets his human match Addie. I loved the adventure in this book that brings Addie to realize she can't live without Javik, when the only thing in it was the money to take her and her brother out of poverty. A must read with sexy scenes as well as great character and story development.
They may be genetic mates but their ideals aren't matching up
Addie has decided to volunteer for the Mahdfel testing. She and her brother live in a shack and need money. So she has decided the "Mate and Pay" plan is the way to go. Get pregnant right way then leave as soon as she gives birth. Nothing to it. But Jarvik has a different idea. He wants a mate for life to love and honor. The artifact also has a different plan for both of them. Read to find out what happens.
I’ll be honest Addie does not win any great h awards, she’s one cold woman, which should be ok, but just isn’t. She warms up into a decent person eventually though which saved the story for me, I like kick ass h’s with Spines of steal and attitude but I’m not a fan of cold unfeeling women with a beef against anyone not raised in starvation.

It Grabbed My attention and focus so strong I could not put it down. A word of advice when you get your copy. Grab a snack, a comfy seat, kick back and relax. You will not be moving until you finish this bad boy here. Remarkable job. Thanks for sharing. "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."
Addie only wants to be a mate for the money and Javik wants his mate for life. Their differing opinions lead to a heated exchange in the lab with a strange artifact that teleported them on a crazy adventure and brings them closer than ever in this fun and sexy read.
I enjoyed the entire serious. The last book needed an epilogue and telling of the trip back home of these couples. Unanswered questions at the end of the series. (The trip to the farm, what happened with rich dad, how did the brother do with the money etc.). I enjoy this race of warriors.
I enjoyed reading this book, it is filled with action, adventure, and intrigue. The interaction and chemistry between the characters of Addie and Javik is wonderful. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
The book was awesome with so many adventures, drama, action, love, and steamy hot romance with awesome character. You won't be disappointed in any way and definitely highly recommended series.
Javik and Addie was another pageturner. I was curious to see happens in this last book and you did not disappoint. I also enjoyed the pet you introduced in book 4. Thank you!
I loved all of the adventure is book has. The characters are amazing. They are funny, and sassy, and witty. I loved the way the artifact took the couple on a whirlwind trip the time. The scenes were intense and full of action. The romance was hot and steamy.
I felt so bad for him in the beginning because he truly wanted a mate, and she just looked at it to be a contract. I was so happy he was able to get her to see otherwise and that it was more than just a contract.
2 1/2 stars( I round up ) . I have liked the series until this book. The storyline was a maze, not in a good one. The ending was anticlimactic and not much of an ending. The whole story was off, it didn't flow. If this had been the first book I wouldn't have read the series.
Terrific series, well written adventure and wonderful love stories. Starr has written of aliens and strange worlds with a marvelous eye for details. I really enjoyed these stories and the crew of the Calliope. Going to miss them. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow! What a fantastic ending to a great series! I took a break from this series before reading this one, not realizing this one would have a somewhat different feel. I loved it! The romance is great, characters are believable, plot is awesome.
As I do this is the last real book in the series. The series is outstanding, the characters are all strong, brave and well written. I would really like to visit them again to find out what else happens. Think about it??
Just ok for me. I can’t get over the mate and pay slogan that was being said over and over. I felt so bad for Javik. The storyline was confusing for me too I finally caught on and I was able to get over my anger but it left a bad taste. I’m fickle sue me
What if someone or something seems too good to be true? Addie’s life on earth was harsh and real. Javik’s life among the crew of the Calliope seems too good to be true. Will the challenges and adventures help her recognize what is real and trustworthy ?
