I received this book through Booksprout as and advanced read copy. After reading it I would like to give my opinion of this book.
This books is so different from the usual dragon shifter books I have read. In that was it made it really good. I enjoyed the banter between Ash, and Adam. Even though more times than not Adam didn’t take it very well. It starts off with two problems one is that Adam doesn’t trust his control over his dragon so he stays out in the European deserts tracking down bad guys and doing them in for a price. In other words he is a bounty hunter. He stays away from people and lives a solitary life. The mission he is on the guy he is suppose to take out complicates things by having a truck load of women that he and his men had captured from the villages around to use as sex slaves. So he destroys everything before he lets the women go free. Oh, and he is in his dragon form. He then gets an email from Asheline Brown she goes by Ash though. She is an investigative journalist, and her sources in the government had mentioned his name.
Ash didn’t know much about her family background. Her parents worked for the Department of Defense, and were killed when she was seven. Her brother Bart was an Army Ranger and was MIA. He was much older than her so she didn’t know much about him. She wanted to meet Adam and talk with him. When they did meet things went a little south for them both. Adam instantly Changed in the cafe they were meeting at the moment that he saw her. A piece of plaster knocked her out so she thought that she was dreaming through the rest of it. She soon discovered something about herself she didn’t know she was a bear shifter. The bad part of the was they were fated mates except Adam the man didn’t want to believe it though his dragon knew.
The rest of the story get better from there as it goes and opens up new doors to things the two never knew about. The man in the CIA that was trying to help shifters. The fate of her brother Bart. The fate of other shifters really. This is an exciting book and I can’t wait until the next one comes out. It is a stand alone story, but it leads to more adventures and other sifters I hope finding their Fated Mates.

Shape shifter‘s, what can you say? Some are born that way and automatically know what they are with the parents showing them and some have no clue until they reach a certain age of maturity to where it is the responsibility of the parents to show them the way. This is how life begins. Adam a dragon shifter has known all his life when he was. His mate on the other hand has no clue. What turned out to be a email searching for a interview turns out to be one discovering his mate. Ash has no clue that she is a shape shifter. What we already know what that leads to chaos of mayham and trying to find the truth about nature taking it’s course. It’s better not to be a shape shifter, it’s even worse to know that you’re not a shape shifter and become a shape shifter. And it’s even worse when the human side of the shape shifter is in conflict with itself on how life should be in order to survive being just human and a shifter. To an extent it’s almost like which came first the animal or the human. Adam has to figure this out and make decisions in order to help his mate go forward and find out who she and how to control her animal in order to help each other survive what lies ahead of them.
The story has a great line. Ash is curvy. We love that. Adam does too which is why he’s always distracted thanks to his dragon thinking about his mate. There is conflict almost everywhere you look and of course da da daaaaaaa, something is done to make it even more crazy. It was nice to see Ash and Adam fight like an old married couple. When one is a dragon and his hoarding gets in the way it can get very very interesting. I like how things were discovered through Ash’s eyes versus Adams “lone dragon” persona. “Spoiler alert!” Don’t forget it is a series but so far this one has a specific HEA but the storyline continues.

This is a wonderful beginning to a new series from Annabella! Adam and Ash knew each other in High School and years later Ash reaches out to Adam out of the blue and they meet for a “Date” the next day. Their date gets turned upside down before it even starts as Adam shifts into his Dragon, grabs Ash and takes her when he flys away. Adam’s dragon knows Ash is his mate and Ash can not figure out exactly what is going on inside her and how glorious Adam looks naked, haha. They are fated mates, made for one another and a bind that will only grow as time goes on. Adam past is not pleasant that his human struggles Ash is his mate. Ash is a pretty smart woman and also a bear shifter she is just learning about. Ash is able to piece together some important details and helps Adam accept what really is happening between them. When John Benson turns up does Adam’s past military come front and center and put Ash in danger. Adam and his dragon go on a rampage to get Ash and protect her and Adam finally takes her to his liar. Adam is the alpha and has not come into his power so when Bart, Ash’s brother becomes feral does Adam go to help him does he see what’s really going on...black magic! First in a new HOT shifter series: brutal in its telling and twisty in its fulfillment
Adam Drake aka “The Dragon of the Desert” is a bounty hunter and sniper for John Benson of the CIA. As a former Air Force Delta Force black ops guy he was on a special assignment by Benson when things went very wrong. Now he would rather spend his time alone with his dragon.
Curvy Ash (Asheline) Brown is a journalist and former school mate to Adam who disappeared after a very bad schoolyard fight where everyone was hurt but him. Out-of-nowhere Ash has started thinking about Adam. Hmmmm…She emails Adam who responds. Wow! What happens next is OTT. So many unknown connections to one another. With Benson involved there is no telling where this series will go.
This book was well-written, fast-paced, sexy with just the right amount of angst. The ending kept me stuck in one position. Couldn’t move until I found out what happened next. Great start to a new series, which I understand will go into Ash’s brother’s story so we might see Adam and Ash again after their HEA. I volunteered to review this book through Booksprout and it comes highly recommended for lovers of curvy women and shifters with some intrigue involved.

Things kind of go crazy at the coffee shop when the two of them meet up. When Adam's dragon recognizes that Ash is his mate -- even though the human part of Adam doesn't – his dragon grabs her and takes off (yes, into the sky)! As if that were not enough, Ash is finally learning that she is bear shifter. Can Adam begin to believe in Fate – that he and Ash are meant to be together? Will Ash adjust to the new dual life of being a bear shifter and learn how to control and co-exist with her bear? Can Ash and Adam work together to find their HEA and make some sense of their world together?
This was a very good story, well-written, action-packed, and fast-paced to keep the reader involved in the story line. The characters were well developed, although their lack of full knowledge of the shifter world was a bit surprising since that is such a huge part of their lives. The banter between the couple will give you a chuckle. I really enjoyed this one and definitely recommend it.

How would you feel if you arranged to meet a fellow high school student from the past at a coffee shop....and he turned into a dragon? This is what happened to Ashley and Adam. Of course Adam ruined the building and as he flew away he took Ash with him. It seems that Ash is Adam's fated mate and his dragon went nuts.
Adam has been alone for many years and has a problem accepting a mate. Even though his dragon tells him she is the one, he has his doubts. Then Ash's inner animal comes out...
I really did not enjoy this story. I considered not finishing but I had hopes. The story did come together more towards the end and was somewhat enjoyable. I liked seeing the appearance of "John Benson" who is a mysterious character from the Author's "Sheikh" series.
I felt like the story went back and forth between Adam's denial of a possible relationship/mating, or not, to raw sex. I really didn't "feel' the story.

I have always loved Annabelle's sheikh stories so when I saw she was moving into the world of dragon shifters I just had to climb on board and I wasn't disappointed.
Adam Drake is a former Air force delta operator and now works for the CIA as a sniper but when a mission goes wrong he retreats into the dessert with his dragon. Ash (Asheline) Brown was school friend of Adam's and for some reason he has suddenly been on her mind even though she hasn't seen him for years so she contacts him. They agree to go on a date but what she wasn't expecting was for his dragon to grab here and sweep her away after all she didn't know that she was his mate. Now with Adam's CIA past coming back to haunt him and trouble with black magic in his family will the love and support of his new mate be enough to keep him safe and how will he stop his dragon from going on a rampage when his new mate is in danger. Now looking forward to the stories of Adam's brothers

Bismeeta knows that something is changing inside her but she doesn't know what. But then she is put inside a cage and next to her is a man who her 'inner'mind whispers is her mate! Bart, meanwhile, doesn't know how ling he's been captured but it must be significant. Then a woman is placed inside the cage next to his and his 'bear' knows that Bis is their mate. Can they get out in time? With a red HOT sizzling storyline that may 'melt' your kindle as when they meet it's as if all the fireworks in the land go off at once. No denying the passion between these two fated mates but can they escape in time? Beautifully written by Annabelle Winters. This is a must have read that is a real easy to read page turner with terrific characters too. Ash is a former classmate of Adam and is a journalist. She was thinking of Adam one day while with a friend and decided to look him up. Adam responded to her email because she intrigued him. Adam is working covertly with the CIA and doesn't like being around people in general. When they meet Adam is stunned because he knows that she is his mate and he isn't sure that he's ready for her yet. When Ash gets mixed up in his life she sees first hand what he does and isn't sure how to handle it. Will they be able to be together?
This is an amazing paranormal story like no other I've read lately. Once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

ONE WILD ADVENTURE!!!
Man, talk about a walk on the wild side. This is one exciting, action packed, hard hitting, fast paced, pulse racing, heart pounding, page turning bombshell that captivates from the beginning. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, ins and outs, along with a few dips and bumps make for one thrilling experience. All the drama, fear, danger and suspense keeps your attention on the pages and frozen to your seat. The characters are written with such realism it really brings this bad boy roaring to life beautifully. The scenes are so realistic and graphically detailed it's easy to picture each scenario as it plays off one another in perfect balance. Fantastic job Annabelle, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

Wow i just love the way Annabel has changed her direction with shifter stories starting with one almighty powerful dragon in this story. Its exciting, powerful and just what i have come to love with her books, twists that one dosnt really expect. So i am definitely looking forward to reading the next story.
But in this book its time for Adam who is a dragon to meet his fated mate. And that person is Ash, they met in a cafe, but when Adams dragon sees his mate he suddenly shifts in front of all to see and carries her off. But what they both dont expect is that Ash herself is a bear shifter. These two have powerful chemistry right from the start, but its Adams human side which dosnt acknoeledge they are fated mates, but soon he will have to with whats coming up.

Good for its genre but to violent for me.
The tale of two shifters finding love. Intense, gory,steamy and at times whimsically entertaining. Wisconsin journalist and former army brat Asheline reunites with high school bad boy The Bronze Beast aka former Black Ops Specialist Adam Drake aka the Dragon of the Desert in an unconventional first meeting that leads to Asheline finding out about her family's past, and a steamy twisted future filled with shifting and violence. Age 18+ recommended.

Curves for a Dragon: Curves for Shifters Book 1 by Annabelle Winters is almost to hot to handle. The plot evolves around an awesome sexy shifter couples love story between a bear and a dragon. I was enthralled with the many sexy scenes between these very different shifters who are learning about their new exciting life and how to interact with one another on both an intellectual and physical level. This story is definitely full of dragon fire and sex that gets hotter with every page turned. At the end of this book, there is a happily ever after ending for now for the dragon and bear but this book also begins a new series of books I can’t wait to read. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an adventurous paranormal love story.

This is my 1st read and review for this author and wow what a fantastic story and who doesn’t love bad boy dragon’s?. Asheline ( Ash ) is a big beautiful woman who is a reporter who is sent out to interview Adam Drake who she knew from high school but he dropped out then disappeared. Drake is an ex Airforce black ops he’s a dragon shifter but he doesn’t trust his dragon so he stays in the desert working as a bounty hunter and when Drake and Ash first meet up Drake accidentally shifts into his dragon and poor Ash is knocked out. Ash finds out something about her heritage but I will let you find that out for yourself when you get this book. This is a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

All I can say is Wow!!! Curves for the Dragon is one amazing read!
The chemistry between Adam and Asheline is hot! This book is so well-written that I couldn't put the freakin' thing down until I finished the book at 2 am! And boy was my hubby mad since I only got 4 hours of sleep. LOL. This book is fast pace, full of action and madness! You want some steamy scenes, you got it. A great beginning for the Curves for Shifters series and I can't wait to see what comes next for the series. Annabelle Winters did a fantastic job and I highly recommend this book!

Fanf******tastic!!!!
I am a relatively new Annabelle Winters worshipper, and I eased my way into her writing style by reading a bunch of her novellas, and those blew me away. But these longer works are just unbelievably outstanding. Her imagination and gift for making the reader see and feel everything right along with the characters is unrivalled at this point. If you haven't read her books yet, buckle up baby because it's a hell of a ride, and you need to get her stuff IMMEDIATELY. I cannot stress that enough, your life has no meaning til you read these books. Mature eyes only due to scorchingly, and I am talking melt your panties, hot, hot, 🔥 shifter loving!!!

This was an Amazon suggestion that I clicked on … being a plus gal who likes romantasy I gave it a whirl. It’s a short read. Fast paced and simple straightforward storyline. I thought the ideas were intriguing and I read through the whole thing but admittedly found myself scanning through just to see quoted text from the animal shifter or conversations between the two characters. It was cute simple read. I liked it but not sure if I will continue the series… maybe if I’m still thinking of it in a week.

Adam is struggling with his beast and is alpha.
Ash is also struggling but not exactly the same.
Even though I read the conversations with his dragon I still think he was overthinking.
Ash is more realistic and goes with her gut.
Even if it put her in danger sometimes.
She is definitely more relatable to me.
I liked the story but it’s not quite finished yet, there has to be a sequel.
Unlike the Sheikh-series this is a ‘sort of standalone’. No cliffhanger nope, more like some unfinished business or family affairs or both.
Worth the read? Yep at least I think so!

An Entertaining Shifting Series, Book One.
An unusual storyline with some twists that is a great way to start a new series. The author takes her readers to strange and exciting places.
Those who have read this author’s work will recognize the strong storyline and well-developed characters, especially Ash and Adam.
Definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure, especially if you like reading a series and, if you are into the shifter world.

Not for me
Way too unrealistic and Too many holes for me just I like a little bit more of a Stories that makes sense The whole randomness of I'm gonna contact some guy that I haven't seen in like 10 or 15 years make a day and he's just gonna show up and oh by the way he's already been in trouble for whatever mission he did but he's gonna drop everything and come back and then he's gonna shift in a public place and I just Not enough A little too unbelievable from my taste Too unbelievable for me to be able to sync properly in the character situation as I like to do

I skimmed a lot because it was confusing and boring.
1. The hero went to high school with the heroine but he is revealed to be really old so is this some Twilight shit? He’s grown up since she saw him before so what’s up? Unexplained up to this point
2. He sleeps with her and then immediately is like “I’m going back to being alone!” And pushes her away. He even suspects she’s pregnant and thinks that if she is then that’s her problem. What a gem! Sounds like a keeper!
3. The conversations with their animals are so drawn out.

Loving these new shifter series from Anabelle.
So much mystery, intrigue, blood thirst action as the animal tries to over power the humans, discovery or would I say coming of age for Ashley and a twist that will have you perturbed as to why, but I guess we need to more revelations as the Dragon helps that bear to harness their powers.

Oh this is so good. It kept me gripped till the very end and I can not wait for the next book in the curves for a shifters series. This book is super hot but it never loses that romantic feel ever in the hard times. The twists and turns that are in Adams and Ash’s life’s just keep coming and I believe we still have a lot more to learning.

I liked this book and find myself intrigued by this new series. The over-the-top story line offers lots of drama, steam, suspense, action, mystery, emotional turmoil, twists, surprises and angst. Adam and Ash have great chemistry and the attraction between them is very strong. This shifter series is off to a promising start and I look forward to more. By my own choice I am posting a truthful review.

This is a shifter love story. The story of Ash and Adam. How they met and were drawn together. The story of their families and the world at large and their place in it.The book was well written and moved quickly, keeping the reader submerged in the story.

Curves for the Dragon is the first book in the Curves for Shifters series. It's an action packed, suspenseful read full of drama, angst, twists and turns and enough heat to set your Kindle on fire. Adam and Ash have intense chemistry and I loved that his Dragon realized Ash is his mate before Adam did. Great writing, captivating characters and fantastic story make this an entertaining read. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

A very interesting series starter! It is well written with a well-developed consistent plot that will grip you and keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. There is drama, lots of action, witty banter, intriguing characters, and of course … steamy sex and off the charts chemistry – everything needed to make this series a must read. I look forward to the next book. Definitely recommended!
