The storyline had so much potential but it was totally ruined by bad editing and cramming too much info into one book (unless there is a second book).
# Didn't like the h pining over her ex-boyfriend after he dumped her. Hated the fact that she kissed him even after knowing he was dating her back-stabbing best friend.
# Didn't like the author introducing the h's adopted brother in the last minute.
# In the book the h fucks two people: her ex-boyfriend and her temporary fuck-buddy but not the man she ultimately ends up with.
# The ow goes scot free after the h's accident.
# The story ended abruptly.

Ummm

Yeah I don’t.

I liked Josh. That’s about it.

This book felt very rushed. It jumped time a lot without being super clear. I felt confused for most of it. I found Kyle to be extremely annoying and we never get a reason for why Kayla turned on her? Sophia was sooo dramatic. Everything was no one will ever love me. I’m nothing I’m useless. Blah blah blah. And I’m not saying that those feelings aren’t real feelings people experience. I have experienced them. But this felt so in your face and dramatic it was almost not believable. Bax felt like an unnecessary character and he was very clingy when all they were supposed to be were f- buddies. Josh and Kyles parents were so strange. She was sitting on Josh’s lap while he was rubbing it in Kyles face that’s they were sleeping together and her parents just kept eating?? Loved the scene so much but it didn’t feel realistic. Ryan just shows up out of nowhere. The last 20% felt so rushed for no reason. We know nothing about this guy and all of a sudden he’s back and she’s on a bender with him?? Then she’s pregnant? But not pregnant? And it’s Bax’s baby but it’s not because Kayla just made it up FOR REASONS STILL UNKNOWN. Kyle broke up with her because Kayla was blackmailing him and when it finally comes to light, Sophia doesn’t even find out? Not to mention the book just ends. It’s just over. She gets into a car accident that apparently “isn’t that bad” but it takes days for Josh to be allowed to go back and see her? Then he finally does and they’re just like oh we’re together now? Kiss. The end. THATS IT.

It felt so unfinished. I want answers. Does Sophia ever find out why Kyle did what he did? Why did Kayla? What happens to Bax and where does Ryan go? Does she ever get to go home? Give me more of her and Josh together. GIVE ME SMUT. I know I know that not every book is smutty or needs smut. But this has the perfect line up. I can’t even say it’s closed door. We don’t even get that. It’s just tension build up and then nothing. It’s just ends. They get interrupted or the subject gets changed and nothing ever happens.

Ugh. I feel disappointed. It had so much potential.

I enjoyed the premise of this story but found myself constantly pulled out of it by the editing. Not just the odd typo but the story was packed with errors that meant some sentences didn’t make sense. It was a shame because the plot was strong and I liked the characters.

This reads like a wattpad story and was so painful to read its hilarious. I forced myself to finish it and it actually hurt.

The main plot has potential but its completely overshadowed by the tens of thousands of subplots in the background. Brothers back? Okay i can deal with that, Ex has been forced to break up with her? Ok… She wants to be a stripper? Um… Suddenly she has an adoptive brother? Shes had an abortion? She’s pregnant with one of her love interests babies? She’s hit by a truck?! There was no buildup to anythint it was just ‘oh and btw she has a brother’ ‘oh btw shes having casual sex with a biker’ and dont get me started on the love interests. Her ex, Her ex’s brothwr, Her casual sex partner and mistakenly her brother??? Why was everyone in love with her??

The dialogue was also just awkward, the dinnertable arguments gave me such second hand embarrassment, and was completely unnatural and her walking into the two guys shes getting with and her brother just made me cringe. Also she is the most annoying main character ever, her ex started off okay with her besides being forced to dump her and it felt like the author realized how annoying she was and had to make him villianous, and Bax (her casual sex partner) was lovely to her, genuinely wanting a relationship and seemed like a nice characyer if he was given time however he was undeveloped as she got with her main love interest and rather than giving them a break up or making him a bad character she just wrongs him and goes behind his back while we’re seen him missing her and completely changing everything to be with her through her main love interests perspective. His involvement made me dislike her due to how bad she treated him just for the main character.

Josh was okay, not too bad, not showstopping. He was a mediocre love interest who had some good lines but their entire relationship seemed rushed despite them not actually getting together until the seriously rushed last chapter in which everything is okay and all plots are left unanswered. What happens with her parents? What does Bax do? Does Kyle apologise? Does she actually embrace the gang life that Josh is part of (and i say gang life as a thin term as its barely developed and only shown through a bunch of meetings in which they all complain about the main character)

The plot had potential but there are so many things going on it made it tough to read, i had to keep putting it down because it was frustrating me so much, I’d think we were rounding something off and then POW something else is added to the mix. Unless you want to he deterred from reading or you like the wattpad style dont pick it up i beg because a reading slump awaits

— Had so much potential but fell short.
— Ended SO abruptly.
— Things were left unresolved.
— Random plot line of an adopted brother showing up in the second half that was truly unnecessary.
— I started skimming because I was getting bored with the repetition. Every chapter the h said “Kyle (her ex boyfriend) made me this way; I use to like school, but now I want to be bad.” 🙄🙄
— The grammatical mistakes need to be edited. Kept pulling me out of the story and even confusing me.

The couple: Josh? and Sofia

Romance trope: switches to the other brother
Length: 259 pages

Plot: Sofia thought she had a wonderful relationship with her boyfriend Kyle, but he dumped her publicly for her best friend the summer before their senior year of high school. To compound her problems, her parents are off on a medical mission and have left her in the care of their close friends, who happen to be Kyle's parents. So now she has to move into Kyle's house for the year. Kyle and his new girlfriend spend a lot of time at the house, and the only thing that makes it bearable is Kyle's older brother Josh, fresh out of prison. He's understanding and supportive, even when she goes a little wild and starts hooking up with an older biker - a friend with benefits who starts wanting more. With the addition of a surprise brother, a mystery plot, and a bunch of coincidences, Sofia has her hands full.

Commentary: This is what happens when Wattpad stories go to Amazon with no polishing of the story in between.
The plot was overfilled. That happens when stories are originally on Wattpad (or if that's where you began your writing career and you never grew from that). You have to keep people coming back, so each short chapter has something dramatic happen in it. The plot hits 11 and never goes back down. The plot was also completely improbable. Her parents dropping her off at the house of her boyfriend who just dumped her? The boyfriend's parents who were supposed to watch her just letting her leave the house whenever and return whenever? Hooking up with a biker? All the men in her life wanting her and turning into complete pussycats despite being big bad bikers? A secret adopted brother that almost nobody knew about showing up at the last minute and surprising everyone, making up with all of them, and coincidentally being a part of the same MC that the hookup and Josh are part of? And then it just ended. All of a sudden there was a soap opera-style accident, heroine in the hospital, villainous other woman (girl) is unmasked (and that was the stupidest ever blackmailing plot), and older brother reveals his love. Too much and not enough all at once. Josh and Sofia weren't even together and then they were, forever.

I feel like a lot of younger Wattpad authors are projecting - they wish they could be doing those things, so they create a (same-aged) version of themselves as a heroine who does all those things. Mary Sue anyone? Look, I was a teenage girl once. I get it. You want to be older than you are. You want to be a part of a world that looks so exciting. You insist that you're more mature than you are. Maybe you are mature. Are you adult-biker-hookup mature? Are you living-on-your-own-without parents-mature? You are not, I'm telling you (that was a fever dream for sure). And I'm not saying that the author is a teenager, although it's possible she wrote or thought the story up while a teenager. But that's how it reads. Make the characters a few years older. There's a world of difference between an 18-year-old high school senior and a 22-year-old college student. The college student is still immature, but they'recloser to being on their own and living an adult life and it shows in the choices that are legitimately available to them.

Also, she got a boob job? Before she turned 18 (or just the re about), before she graduated from high school, because she thought she wasn't developed enough? That's...unusual. Again, all you have to do is make your characters a tiny bit older and it makes more sense.

So short version: not well-written plot-wise or style-wise and in the end, just not for me.

Grammar/formatting: needed another pass with an editor/proofreader, especially for missing words

TW/CW: mentions of drug use, cheating, neglect(ish), depression, eating disorder

-love-triangle
-age-gapish [FMC is 18/19, Josh is possibly 23/25, Bax N/A and Kyle is probably 19 as well.]
-biker MMC(s)
-clean (only mentions sex but nothing graphic on-page.)

Two stars. The writing, the characters, and the plot is all over the place to the point I felt a headache brewing. Random information is inserted in the story that throws you off while reading and the extra character that appeared out of nowhere made no sense. Even some characters changed, (her parents), where they went from being amazing doctors-without-borders hero's, but towards the end that attitude changed when Ryan is introduced, and I was sooo confused.

In the beginning Soph had mentioned how she had seen Josh's tattoos, but then noticed new ink after he was released. She implied that he had tattoos before going in jail. Then in Josh's POV he stated he received his first tattoo either while incarcerated or after he is released. This is one of examples of how thrown off I was while reading and information not adding up continued throughout the book.

Also, we have to talk about the dinner scenes. You mean to tell me the brothers are discussing all this private information, and the parents aren't interrupting or even aware? Jeb or whatever his name is seemed like a stern character, so I was expecting some yap from him, but he was silent every time.

I clearly wasn't feeling this read, and don't ask me why I kept reading after 25% because I truly don't know.

I was tempted to give one star however the drama in here is 10/10 so for that I will give two stars.

(Note for me: Putting this in the Wattpad bookshelf because this truly felt like it came straight from there.)

I fear i dnf'd this at 54%
I fear i cannot continue reading this, i don't like any of the characters nor do i like the writing style the pacing was just everywhere and for no reason, i also hated how back and forth she was with herself but also with the 3 different guys, the plot sounded good it was just very poorly written / executed (in my opinion of course)

This book had good bones, I guess you would say. I did enjoy the storyline, but it jumped around a lot. It kind of felt like a bunch of things were added randomly to add more drama, but it wasn't executed very well. There is also a decent amount of errors that kind of take away from the reading experience. I think this book could benefit from it being thoroughly proofread and edited. Overall, it is a pretty good story but could definitely be better.

Marvelous

From the beginning this novel captured my attention. Josh and Soon were meant to be. This novel was straight and to the point. It didn't drag you thru the chapters. Great work Miss Elise. Thank you.

I honestly am not one to give a book one stars but this book needs it when I went into this book I was super excited but as the story continues. I just got more and more confused. And Sofia at least in my opinion was not likable. She would constantly bring up that fact that everyone should hate her and that she was just a nobody. And I just couldn’t do it because she didn’t just say that like ones or twice she literally said it threw out the whole book. And I’ll be honest the only reason I was able to finish it was because off josh. And even then I was still not wanting to finish it. But I just think the book just had to many things happening. I found myself skipping through a lot just because I wanted the book to end. But when it did I was not a fan of it. I just felt like Sofia was always trying to be that girl that is always going to say I’m just a nobody you don’t need me. And honestly she is that girl. She always says she will not go back to Kyle but then she kisses him and then cares about what he thinks about her and she just needs to stop. I can’t with her. So for me this book was a no!!

The description of the book was what really drew me in. This sounded like a great read. However, I stopped reading at 55% and honestly that was too generous. There was just too much going on…every guy wanted the h 🙄 the ex bf, the ex bf best friend, the dads creepy friend, the biker guy and the brother…give me a break. Then she is expected to be a nerdy/introvert/loner with no friends, but she’s soooo beautiful. Goes from introvert loner to wanting to be a stripper who also gives the H random confident strip teases…even though she has money and really doesn’t need a job🧐🤦🏻‍♀️ WTF is happening right now?! Oh and don’t get me started on the eating disorder…I’m fucking 🫤 confused. I get self sabotage, but seriously this is just everything all in one book. Like fucking pick something and personalities for your characters and stick with them. At this point the girl is a character from the movie Split and I’m waiting to hear from Patricia.🙄🤷🏻‍♀️

CAN’T anymore CAN’T!

bestselling author? how?

This book was terrible. The only reason I gave it the one star was because I have to. It was not well written at all. Needs editing badly!!!!! The storyline was going fine and then random bits gets thrown in at like 80% stuff that should have come up before. The ending was terrible. No chemistry between the main characters. In fact nothin happens between the main characters coz she is off with every other man in the book.

Good storyline, but the book needs work

As for the storyline itself, I liked the book. And the characters for the most part, although I had a few times where I wasn't sure if the mfc was thinking from her place of depression and insecurities or was just dense and being obtuse like in regards to Bax and the ex best friends phoniness. I was really hoping for a mfm with Josh and Bax. If Kyle wasn't a coward from the beginning and been honest the many chances he had to with her, I wouldn't have minded a redemption arc and a RH, but that didn't happen and he dug himself in at the end. Speaking of the end, here's where one of my main problems comes in. The book just ends. No real epilogue or feelings of resolution, tying loose ends. Kind of felt like she ran out of ideas or didn't feel like continuing, and said, "They finally get together, The End!"... The brother comes out of nowhere and doesn't have a good rep, but he seems to care for his sis. Is he really there ready to take on his big bro role? Bax seemed like he was in love with her. Did he really give up so easy? What happened with the parents, and were their neglect ever addressed? Where is this uncle constantly mentioned but never seen? Will the ex best friend ever get her karma? Josh is finally stepping up. Now what? How does their relationship look. Does Soph get herself together, get back healthy, and get her grades back together? Keep her college plans and career goals or pivot and discover a new dream? The book just felt so unfinished and like there was so much more to address, and like maybe a pt2 is needed. The other issue was the many errors with spelling and grammar. It needs another combover and editing. It was enough that it was plenty noticeable. Hopefully, the author re-edits and adds to the book to make it complete or makes it a duet. If fixed to extend and edited, I wouldn't mind rereading.

The main plot had sooo much potential, I was genuinely very excited to see how the story will go. But then as I kept reading, I was so fucking confused. I don't think I've ever said the words "wtf" so many times in a row before. Everything was happening yet nothing was happening. I have a love hate relationship with the FMC, I didn't like how she was portrayed as a girl who didn't know how many men she attracted (and boy was it a lot). To count all the love interests she had 1. The ex-boyfriend who is still in love with her but was blackmailed into breaking up with her 2. The ex's older brother who is the MMC (I actually liked him, he had so much potential but I felt like it was completely wasted) 3. The one night stand biker guy who has a reputation for fooling around but for some reason is obsessed with her (he was extremely sweet and I really think he deserves better than her) 4. Then the misunderstanding of her brother (Where did this brother even come from? I have no idea) hooking up with her....So much was going on here and yet all the things that needed wasn't there. Like, what does the ex do once he realises how wrong he was? What happens to the backstabbing ex best friend bitch? Does the FMC and MMC actually talk and get tgthr? WHERE TF DID THE BROTHER COME FROM??? Was she pregnant? Was she not pregnant? Did she have an abortion? Did she not have one? I think the characters of this book where as confused as I was half the fucking time.

The plot had potential but it was completely ruined by bad editing and stuffing too many unnecessary drama into it

Well, I'm definitely happier that I got this through Kindle Unlimited and didn't actually pay for it...

First, this is Australian, therefore she can legally drink and go to bars/clubs at 18yo.

Second, Please, for the love of God, Ms Author, hire an editor!!!

The story geniunely starts of well. Characters and backstory are introduced, then it's picking up speed.... And then goes off the rails...
Unfortunately, the amount of errors took away from the reading experience. Wrong words, added or missing words, mispelt words... It was distracting.
Then there's the issue of whole plots introduced from way beyond left field and forced into the main plot and we're expected to just accept it. Or characters being present in a scene and then we're told "Nope, they were never here!" It's disjointed to say the least. Character development also comes to a halt about halfway along.
In the end, my stubborness won out and I finished the book... I think... Yep, wouldn't really call that an ending either, more like an F1 race car crashing into the barricade... It just stopped there. I even went searching to see if there was a a sequel.... Nope, that's all your gonna get for a finale - DISAPPOINTED!

Honestly, it did have some good points, but they were so far and few in between. Respect to the author for actually publishing something, but unfortunately you can tell it's an amateur. I think if it was edited properly, it would definitely improve the whole story.
