On continue le combat au côté de notre chère et tendre araignée, qui continue de risquer sa vie face aux monstres du labyrinthe. Toujours face aux monstres ressemblants à des singes (et bien plus beau que dans l’anime), une de leur évolution finie même par rejoindre la bataille ! Arrivera t-elle à en venir à bout ? (non, je ne mets pas de suspense vue que c’est l’héroïne vous savez la réponse).
Après avoir, une nouvelle fois, échappée à la mort, elle continue son exploration. Elle finie par tomber sur un passage semblant mener à la zone précédente qu’elle souhaite rejoindre… Comme toujours, la joie n’est que de courte durée, car la nouvelle zone s’avère encore plus dangereuse que la précédente, surtout pour une araignée. Il ne s’agit pas d’un spoil, puisque celle-ci est présente sur la couverture du tome : une zone de feu. Elle essaiera donc encore une fois de s’adapter à son nouvel environnement, et sincèrement, sur ses trois premiers volumes, je pense que c’est celui qui mènera à la première vraie évolution du protagoniste.
Sans compter que la fin évoque enfin d’autres réincarnés, tout en faisant un petit lien avec elle ce qui est assez sympa. Cette scène permet d’ailleurs de mieux introduire les autres réincarnés que la version proposée dans l’anime, je pense donc qu’elle perdra moins le lecteur, même si par la suite, le manga prend la même tournure que l’anime. J’imagine que les prochains tomes nous montrerons donc les deux points de vues.

Again, since I've already reviewed this part of the story in my reviews of the light novels, I'll just offer a couple of bullet points about things I especially liked in this volume:
- The single panel where "Kumoko" uses Detection and has an "opening of the third eye" moment of enlightenment where she sees the immensity of the universe. I liked this part of the novel, too, as short as it was.
- She weaves herself a little blanket with a diamond design on it when she goes to bed. Adorable!
- The bonus comic by Kiryu, the illustrator of the novels, featuring their two-year-old son who loves the spider and worries when she cries.
This volume's bonus short-short story by light novel author Baba lets us know that cooking with bad ingredients leads to bad results.

Slow burn
This volume did quite a few things to flush out the world and progress the overall story. I enjoyed the bonus manga chapter which delves into a side character.

It feels like damn near half this volume is taken up by increasingly tiresome blocks of "level up/skill increase" text blocks. And for the life of me, I don't see how this is supposed to be interesting from a world building or character development standpoint. I guess if you thought Lord of the Rings would've read better if it had been written like, "Condition met: Gandalf the Grey has gone from level 9 to level 10. Gandalf the Grey can now evolve into Gandalf the White," maybe you'll enjoy this. But this game-ification of fantasy that infests the isekai genre is the absolute laziest way to go about writing...anything, short of just using bullet points to summarize the plot. But here, it's to the extent that Kumoko needs to figure out how to get across a lava field, and she just gets a skill that lets her think better. It's unbearably dumb, and I have no idea why it's used so often in stories like this.
And yeah, there had always been some level of this stuff in So I'm a Spider, but it was subdued up until this volume. Kumoko might appraise something, and get its name, maybe a little of its history, and that was it. Now, every thing she uses this skill on, gives us an ever-growing overlay of stats that take the place of anything at all interesting. Hell, even when she's in a place that's actively sapping her strength, we don't really see how much she's struggling represented on the page, so much as she'll just exclaim something like, "Oh no, my SP is going down, just by being here!" It's trash, which makes me a little sad, because the series had potential. And since there still isn't another sentient being around for Kumoko to talk to, I don't foresee this growing problem going away anytime soon.
Which I'm sure the author would follow up with something about my prediction skill going up, but to hell with that. I'm done with this series.

Je remercie les Éditions Pika pour l’envoi de ces lectures. Ce manga, j’avais vraiment hâte de lire la suite ! Surtout qu’avec le chéri on a commencé à regarder son adaptation en anime qui est tout aussi hilarante que le manga ! 😉
Notre chère araignée est dans le pétrin. En effet, elle pensait avoir réussi à maîtriser la situation, mais finalement, elle se retrouve face à une armée de singes qui veulent se venger de la mort de leur compère. Autant vous dire, elle ne risque pas de faire long feu si la situation continue d’être ainsi.
Ce manga est toujours aussi prenant. L’humour est excellent et les scènes d’action demeurent épiques. En effet, pour une araignée, être en mesure de faire ce qu’elle fait est un exploit ! Entre-temps, comme je l’ai dit plus tôt, avec mon chéri on a commencé à regarder l’anime et c’est vraiment un plaisir. Il y a dedans des choses qui sont incluses qu’on ne retrouve pas pour l’instant dans le manga (je suppose qu’ils seront présents un peu plus tard), mais qui rendent l’histoire d’autant plus intrigante et prenante !
En bref, ces deux tomes restent sur la même ligné que les deux premiers. L’humour est génial, l’action est folle et l’histoire est intrigante. Vivement la suite ! 😀

You take the good with the bad in this one... The good: stunning visuals for the middle stratum (and throughout, honestly) of the Elroe Labyrinth! The wyrms Kumoko encounters there look impressive, and the magma radiates off of the page. And, a brutal finale with the primates! The bad: there is an extraordinary amount of video game inspired skill text and info dumping. It detracts from panel transitions and story. Too much of the world building is done in shortcut with the appraisal skill Kumoko relies on. The growing power of Kumoko is also becoming evident. Where before, there were high stakes with lucky escapes, we are creeping into power fantasy territory now. Hopefully, the story will take us new places before that trend gets too tired.
Before I forget, the color interior page makes me dream of a full color, glossy So I’m a Spider... edition. It looks so good! And, the back covers of each Yen Press volume have awesome creature icons representing the encounters inside. I get such a kick out of them!

Finished with eating cat fish. I like cat fish. The rate of the spider getting stronger kinda seems faster than it should be. I know it is due to that "pride" skill thing. It is seeming to be set up so she is a evil character but not knowing she is. She eats a lot and thus has a lot of the SP stuff in reserve for use later on.
The After "Bonus Short Comic" had the egg from manga vol. 1 turn into a baby dragon. I do not think the main manga will do anything with it as most mangas I have read don't include anything from the bonus chapters / bonus comics / whatever they decide to put at the only semi connected to the plot of that manga.
The manga this time seems like it is going up in the maze thing so i hope there will be a vol. 4 and vol. 5 in which she'll get outside of the maze.

Our student turned spider is facing an insane amount of monstrous monkeys but thankfully she has some useful skills that will offer us a glorious battle and nearly kill her as she takes on seemingly endless hordes. With experience comes evolution and evolution brings new power which is good considering now that our spider friend found the path to the middle stratum she has a whole new level of pain to deal with as she avoids attempts to overcome her weakness to the flaming level that keeps her from the above levels. Be sure to read the book to see how she survives and what new creature she will deal with as she continues to get stronger.

After watching the anime of this story last year I decided to check out the manga version. This is a Isekai - an "in another world" story - but with the difference that the protagonist finds themselves reborn as a lowly spider monster in a fantasy world and has to survive. An amusing fantasy story.

This series continues to be different enough and yet familiar in so many different ways that is keeps you coming back for more. Kudos to a creative team that can accomplish that in such a very tight niche. Surviving is tough in the real world, and we see just how difficult it can be for a little ol spider in a big cave/dungeon. Good, good stuff!

Die Hälfte der Beine ist abgrissen? Wenn Ich nicht gesehen hätte, wie sie genug andere Wunde überlebt hat, würde ich denken, dass sie bereits tot sein müsste. Natürlich hatte sie den perfekten Zeitpunkt für einen Level-Up und damit Regeneration erwischt und sie kann gestärkt in den Kampf zurückkehren und einen Affen nachdem anderen töten.
Dass sie dann die Entwicklungslinie des kleinen giftigen Taratect gewählt hat, war auch abzusehen, denn die anderen Linien wäre zu diesem Zeitpunkt bei weitem nicht so nützlich.
Der Weg denn sie dann geht, klingt teilweise sehr düster, denn scheinbar gibt es eine Hölle für die Unschuldigen und misstrauischen und sie kann irgendwie auf dessen Macht zugreifen. Was hat der Autor noch mit ihr vor? Nun, sie zu quälen auf jeden Fall, wenn man schaut wie lange es dauerte bis sie "Feuerwiderstand" erlernt hatte. Und die Titel die sie inzwischen hat, die sind manchmal echt düster, z.B. "Herzloser Monstermassakrierer" und "Herrscherin der Hochmut." Und es its gut zu sehen, dass sie endlich mal ein Monster zu essen bekommt, welches tatsächlich schmeckt, vor dem Wels, haben die scheinbar alle furchtbar geschmeckt. Und wie ich mir dachte, sie konnte nicht die einzige Person sein, die in dieser Welt wiedergeboren wurde. Das Ei aus den vorherigen Bänden, war ebenfalls eine wiedergeborene Person.

Half of your legs torn off? If I hadn't seen her survive enough other wounds, I would think that she must be dead by now. Of course she had the perfect time for a level-up and regeneration and she can return to the fight strengthened and kill one monkey after another.
It was foreseeable that she would then choose the line of development of the small, poisonous Taratect, because the other lines would not be nearly as useful at this point in time.
The way she goes then sounds very gloomy, because apparently there is a hell for the innocent and suspicious and she can somehow access its power. What is the author going to do with her? Well, definitely tormenting her when you look at how long it took her to learn "fire resistance". And the titles she has meanwhile are sometimes really dark, e.g. "Heartless Monster Massacre" and "Ruler of Arrogance." And it's good to see that she finally gets to eat a monster that actually tastes good, before the catfish, they all seem to have tasted terrible. And how I figured she couldn't be the only person born again in this world. The egg from the previous volumes was also a born again person.

Anche questo numero 3 si assesta sulle 4 stelline e qualcosa di più.
La protagonista è super divertente e in gamba e mi piace vederla gironzolare per il dungeon alla ricerca di mostri da battere (o da cui stare alla larga), ma sento ancora che manca qualcosa.
Voglio sapere qualcosa di più su questo mondo e sul perché si sia finita. Lo scoprirò con i prossimi volumi? Staremo a vedere!

The art is super cute and the story subverts the isekai narrative by making the MC a little spider monster. If you’re really into isekai and video game grinding you might like this. As for me, I found it to be really repetitive so I decided to drop it. Not bad, just not for me
