Overall I liked it. I will admit this was a lot to take in. Cole is steal dealing with his past. It has tore him up so bad that he refuses to let himself be happy. He meets Charlynn and things start off great. Then he refuses to let himself be loved and it drove me nuts. Thankfully after everything these two went through they were finally able to have their happy ending.

What a great story with all the feels. These two were a great couple, life wasn't easy for them. Their story will grab you by the heart and take you on their journey. Share their heartache and happiness. I highly recommend this book.

From the beginning these two just click as they have so much in common but personality wise, they are seemingly opposites. Charlynn tends to see the glass half full and willing to do what she needs to do to overcome anything while Cole is a glass half empty and shies away from difficulties. As Cole and Charlynn, along with the other members of the Harris family, head out for a camping trip in the mountains for New Year’s Eve, their relationship takes a turn out of the friendship zone and into what could be the start of something….However as the group is leaving from their trip, the unexpected happens which leaves them all in a state of upheaval looking for answers. Compounding this tragedy is Cole’s past is being brought up again. Is Charlynn willing to go the distance and stand by her man? Can Cole finally put the past to rest and move on with his life? This is an incredible story where the Hero, Cole is full of torment, guilt and has a self imposed life as a recluse. His pain is raw and weighs him down but, as his friendship with Charlynn goes to the next level, he begins to feel again. Charlynn has her own personal pain that weighs her down too and she yearns for things that she feels will be impossible to achieve. Their relationship is surrounded by tragedy, suffering and heartache but, together they sense hope. But, as they get to know each other, the intimacy goes off the charts into extremely hot levels. It’s amazing the stamina they have! This is a beautiful story that pulls at your heart and squeezes…hard. I could not put the book down and I’m still thinking about Cole, Charlynn and the others of this small mountain town. It puts things in perspective and makes you really think about what’s really important.

Another great addition to the series. Cole and Char, wow they both really have some heavy baggage. Cole with the loss of his girlfriend years ago and Char unable to have children. These two are so intertwined with the Harris family that they spend tons of time together and really enjoy each others company. Cole hides up on the mountain and rarely comes down, but this time he agreed for the big NYE camping trip and Char was coming along, and these two find a way to keep each other warm until tragedy strikes. Cole has feelings for Char, but he doesn’t think he’s good enough or that he deserves any kind of happiness with the events in the past, and all Char wants is a good man, a life, a family, but she just can’t seem to find the right guy. Will Cole be that guy? I guess you need to read for yourself. No spoilers, great read, they are steamy, sexy and the banter between them his hilarious at times. I received a copy of this book.

Improvement
Many of Brooks’ book have decent storylines. This one was an improvement over the last 2-3 I’ve read. Overall, creative plots that are generally pretty predictable halfway through, though this one did have a nice plot twist.
Drawbacks include poor proofreading and editing. I’m glad I used Kindle Unlimited to read this, otherwise I’d be annoyed at having spent $5-$7 on grammar and spelling errors. Notably, all of Brooks’ books I’ve read contain grammar and spelling errors. Other drawbacks include an immature style of writing. I wonder how old is the author? Characters’ connections often feel contrived, and there are times where someone declares love for the other and I’m stuck scratching my head asking how we got there from the previous stance of doubt/mistrust/dislike. Intimate scenes are banal and recycled.
General takeaway- curiosity about plot keeps me reading, and books take about 2-3 hours to finish. Wouldn’t pay for them, though.

Sassy brings the reclusive to life
My Next Mistake by Sarah J Brooks is a well written book that features a couple with as many things in common as not. This couple has much to overcome. While one solution seems obvious, that doesn't make it easy! Charlynn and Cole have their work cut out for them and they quickly realize it's worth the effort. There's a bit of drama that makes the going tough, but these two live up to the cliché "when the going gets tough, the tough get going". Despite the antagonists, this couple does not bow under the pressure and persevere.
This book is the fourth of the Mistake series. It can be read alone, but I really appreciated the reprisal of the previous books' characters as well. It was well timed throughout the book and not just superficial.
Overall, a good read with great characters that get a spectacular and much deserved HEA.

This book was a great read the story is about Cole and charlynn have meet through his sister Quinn . Cole has been in hiding for five years after his girlfriend died form an accident and when he meet char at a family gathering . Char has always thought that she had her life on track , and finds out that she wants to be a mom and cant have children the old fastion way . Cole and char have a hard part of life to get through and time comes to a head for both of them they wind up being there for each other . Cole and char will show how they send each other side with how both had hard times and they will have each other to solve there hard time together . I received this book as a arc for a honest review for a honest review and I can say that this was a great read and to have all of the harris crew in it as well it was a great add to the harris clan .

Cole doesn't let anyone get too close to him but there's something about Charlynn that draws him to her. They are like kindred spirits drawn together from their pain. Together they start to heal and move forward when tragedy strikes yet again trying to take their happy ending from them. Will something from Cole's past tear them apart? Can they make it through it?
This is an amazing story that will draw you in from the first chapter on. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This was such a great read. I have liked this series. Five years ago Cole lost the most important person in his life, and afterward went into seclusion to get away from it all. He doesn’t do relationships, and hasn’t been with anyone since then. Charlynn doesn’t do relationships either. Once she tells people about what she thinks is a problem, men leave. These two are perfect for each other. They have a strong connection and insanely hot chemistry. When there is a fire on the mountain, Cole’s past comes back to haunt him. Will his past keep him from having the love he wants and deserves? These two can help heal each other, they just have to open their hearts to the idea. This will give you the feels. Loved this one and it was great to see how everyone else is doing.

This is an engrossing read about Cole Cumberland and Charlynn. He is the billionaire brother of one of her best friends that has an immense amount of baggage that has turned him into a recluse with a huge desire to punish himself. She is a woman who has her own issues that she must come to terms with.
I really enjoyed this story. The characters are very likable, have a loads of chemistry and heat. The story is solid and I could not put it down. Sarah J. Brooks has become a favorite author as I know I will always get a great story. I give this one 5 stars.

4.5🌟 A great story ! This is Cole Cumberland & Charlynn Harris story. Cole has been through a tragedy in his life years ago. He has kept to himself a lot. He was invited to go camping for New Year's Eve. Charlynn & her family were going camping on New Year's Eve. The storyline is filled with suspense,mystery,love,anger, romance, and plenty of twists and turns that kept me reading to the very end. Cole and Charlynn meet, but will this be the beginning of a great relationship or not ? I was given an arc of this book and this is my opinion. 💖🐧🎉🎊

Cole and Charlynn's story is a heartbreakingly beautiful one. They have both suffered tragedy and each dealt with it in their own ways. They both have a lot to overcome in order to give a relationship a chance. I loved this emotional roller coaster story and every twist and turn along the way. This well written book with well developed characters and a story that pulled on my heartstrings. I definitely recommend this book to everyone you will not be disappointed. Wow. This book is... juvenile. It’s like watching really bad porn; stilted dialogue, no connection, stupid words, you get the picture. Apparently her p- can flutter, and he apologizes for having a, well, a fat c-

4.5 Stars! My next mistake has all the makings of a great read. At times I laughed, was happy for the characters and saw the love they had. The strength of Charlynn is just what Cole needed. The story also has sadness that will bring you to tears. Well developed characters and a good story line for Cole and Charlynn keep you reading to the end.

I loved this story. It has characters from some of her previous books. It has humor, angst, love, great chemistry, and hot sex. The only thing that didn't quite settle with me was how soon the two of them jumped into sex. I did love it and would recommend readers read this one.

What a ride! I can’t catch my breath after the emotions that were stirred up while reading Charlynn and Cole’s story. They have each experienced loss and pain, it made my heart twist. The story has growth, love, pain, emotions, smiles and kept me flipping pages and loving every second. I love a story that can grip my heart and show me different sides of the characters. A must read.

Cole Cumberland runs an eco-adventure business catering to the elite. Cole lives on his property in the mountains off-grid not far from his parents on Black Mountain where he could live in peace and quiet away from the flashy lifestyle.

Charlynn was always a pleasure to be around as she shared many of the same thoughts on environmental and sustainable housing options. Beautiful wonderful dark dry sense of humour and as not raised in a wealthy family was more than happy to try camping although not a camper by any means. And as you read this book it brings a wonderful story together about a man with many secrets who swears he will never risk losing another love again and a woman who believes because of her past she will never be enough.
I highly recommend and enjoyed this book filled with plenty of heartache and laughter love and loss.

This story is amazing, actually this series is amazing and a must read for all romance lovers.

This is an emotional rollercoaster. Cole and Charlynn have experienced pain and together maybe they can heal. They have an amazing connection with each other, but the past gets in the way. Can Cole put aside his past to pave the way for a future with Charlynn? This amazing story will have your hearts going out to Cole and cheering for a happy ever after him and Charlynn. Charlynn and Cole, are the perfect match. Past experiences, loss and tragedy have affected both their lives, but that is what will make them a strong match. Story has lots of emotion, steam and funny moments as well. Fast paced and enjoyable.

My Next Mistake by author Sarah J. Brooks. This book is connected with Harris Brothers. Tragically poignantly beautiful- yep that sums this one up. It’s so heart wrenching wonderful. Filled with deliciously spicy moments that will curl your toes!! I could go on but you should just read it yourselves.

The final book in the Irresistible Billionaire series. The emotionally damaged twin brother of Quinn, from book 3, is the Hero of this book. The last remaining roommate of the 3 girls from books 1& 2, Charlynn, gets her HEA. A few twist and turns added to the drama. This author sure can write a love scene and you will read one in almost every chapter. 😳 HEA and no cheating.

This well-written storyline has chemistry, attraction, main characters with painful pasts and different outlooks on situations. There is loss, heartbreak, romance and a possible HEA. Wonderful storytelling that evokes emotion. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
