A bit about me:
NYT/WSJ/USAT International bestselling author Melanie Moreland, lives a happy and content life in a quiet area of Ontario with her beloved husband of lots of lovely years and their rescue cat, Amber. Nothing means more to her than her friends and family, and she cherishes every moment spent with them.
While seriously addicted to coffee, and highly challenged with all things computer-related and technical, she relishes baking, cooking, and trying new recipes for people to sample. She loves to throw dinner parties, and also enjoys travelling, but finds coming home is always the best part of any trip.
Melanie loves stories, especially paired with a good wine, and enjoys skydiving (free falling over a fleck of dust) extreme snowboarding (falling down stairs) and piloting her own helicopter (tripping over her own feet.) She's learned happily ever-afters, even bumpy ones, are all in how you tell the story.

The Amendment is book three in The Contract series by Melanie Moreland. If you are like me, you already fell in love with Richard and Katy in the first two books in this series. Going in to this book, I had no idea what so ever what Melanie had planned for this couple next. I had a couple of guesses but was completely wrong. So, this review is going to be a little different than some of my others. Because there really isn’t much I can tell you without spoiling anything. I want you to go in the same way I did.

Richard VanRyan couldn’t be happier. His life with the wife he loves more than he ever could have imagined, Katy, has given him two beautiful daughters. Now three year old Gracie who has my heart with her cute lisp and their infant daughter, Heather. Things at work at The Gavin Group, are going beyond fantastic. Richard is a changed man. He loves his family with every fiber of his being. They are his world. The man he once was is a distant memory. Life, though, has a way of throwing you a curve ball when you least expect it.

“Before her, I was nothing. With her, because of her, I had the world.”

3 year old and 6 month old girls - Google Search

I am writing this review directly after finishing the book. I am feeling so much right now. My heart is so full. I have to mention that once again, Melanie has written the best epilogue ever. I may have said that a time or two in other reviews for her books but I think this is the best one yet. One thing I took away from this book is that “family” has nothing to do with blood ties. It has everything to do with emotional ties. Richard had no experience with the emotion love before Katy. Now, not only does he have a wonderful wife and children, he has his family at work, the Gavins, who are the parents and siblings he never had. He has the men from BAM, Maddox especially, who is his closest friend. The bunch of them are more like brothers to him.

You might need a tissue or three for this book. I did. I can’t seem to get enough of these characters, of The Gavins, The VanRyans, the Bam men and their wives. That’s what Melanie Moreland’s books do to me. Her characters live on in my heart. I hope that in some way in the future, I’m going to get the chance to enjoy more of these characters. For now, though, I hope you are ready, for The Amendment.

Oh Richard, I loved you in The Contract and I love you even more in this book. Yes, you were a complete jerk but you turned it around before and you’ll do it again.
I totally got the feels when reading this book. I’ve loved Richard and Katy the moment I started reading The Contract. I loved Katy the moment she told Richard to F off. I slowly started to fall for Richard when you started to see more of his heart as the story progressed. In The Amendment, you see him regress but like before, he slowly wakes up and we get to see more of him then before. Of course there are times I wanted to shake him and tell him to her his head out of his butt but he’s one stubborn man.

I have come to expect certain things from melanie when I read a new book by her. I expect some heartache, some laughs and above all a who lot of love especially when Richard and Katy are involved.

I cannot express how amazing of a couple they are. They have adorable girls and a life many dream of.

But this book, this book tests them at every turn.

I laughed, I cried (ok teared up), I got angry and I smiled a lot. I have loved Richard from the get go in The Contract and that hasn’t changed. He has a piece of my heart!

This is in my list of top reads of 2019. I loved every word. This book deserves more than 5 stars hands down!!!!!!!

20 ⭐️’s from me for this book! Melanie has taken all the emotions you could want in a story and packed them into this little gem!!! Richard and Katy have quite the story to tell. It’s the story of life, love and change. Life is great....until it isn’t. It can be messy, scary and downright miserable at times! Sadness and insecurities are always present but sometimes they can be overwhelming. But if you can realize where your strength truly lies, life can be the most wonderful thing ever!!! Absolutely loved this book!!!

I became a fan of Melanie Moreland’s writing when I read book one of the Vested Interest series at the recommendation of friend. I then binge read the entire series and fell in love with each couple. Naturally, I was drawn to read the Contract which features Richard VanRyan as our leading man, and was thrilled that his friends from the previous books made appearances.

The Amendment can be read as a standalone, but I do encourage you to first read the Contract, which is free on kindle unlimited if you subscribe, then the Baby Clause which is a novella, and then the Amendment. By doing so, you will come to know how Richard first met Katy, and the rocky road that they endured and the realizations that they came to before they wed. I so love a book that takes you on a journey and gets you totally invested in a story and that is what Melanie does with her writing. The pages flow effortlessly and you will find yourself feeling every emotion as you turn the pages. Their wit and banter was also very fun to read!

I did write a review for the Contract and basically stated how much I admired and respected the heroine. She didn’t have it easy growing up yet remained honest, loyal, hardworking, and humble. She was gracious and kind, but absolutely no pushover, and did whatever it took to be independent and survive. I loved how she handled herself and would be proud to have her as a friend.

She helped Richard become a better man, as did his work mentor, Graham, whom I highly respected. He is featured in each of the three books in this series, and was the type of person anyone would want to emulate. I truly was in awe of how he led his life and the trust, advice, and support he selflessly gave to his family and employees, especially Richard.

Katy and Richard were living the dream. They had a family they adored, had embraced their past, and looked forward to their future. But then life happens and our hero and heroine were faced with one of life’s greatest challenges. Melanie writes about situations that we can all relate to, and you will feel all of their joy, heartache, and sorrow in this beautifully written story. But more importantly, you will find yourself routing for them every step of the way.

I love how supportive their friends and extended family are, and how honest, raw, and emotional this book is. The character development is evident on every page and I love how nothing was sugarcoated. This book is about loving unconditionally, tough love, and weathering life’s storms. It’s about standing by people when they are hurting, encouraging but not enabling, and forgiveness. It’s about remaining positive and reminding people that the sun is shinning behind every raincloud.

This book features so many wonderful secondary characters which makes the book so interesting, including their funny and spirited toddler, Gracie; Graham’s wife and children; the men and their lady loves from BAM; and a new character, a young man that Richard is charged with mentoring.

If you have read Melanie before, her last few chapters are magical, always end with a HEA, and the reason I read romance! Well done!

Melanie MorelandI am a big fan of Melanie Moreland, and of all her books, and have been from the beginning when I read Into the Storm. Through each new release, I professed the current book is my favorite of all time. When I read The Contract, it was plain to see that it was on a level by itself! One that goes beyond simple words like "favorite book", "favorite characters", "favorite author"! Although I love each and every book by Melanie Moreland, The Contract is now considered my GOAT! (Greatest of All Time) The Contract first introduced us to Richard and Katy. I fell in love with Katy right away and admired her for her strength. The same cannot be said for my first impression of Richard. However, Richard evolved into the perfect book boyfriend because he fell in love with Katy, and amazingly, she fell in love with him! To read the transformation of Richard was pure storytelling magic, and that is what Melanie gave us!

The Baby Clause gave us another transformation of Richard, fatherhood! By this time, I loved everything about Richard VanRyan! I did not want to see the series end. Melanie answered my prayers by bringing Richard into her BAM series. Though I loved seeing him again, it was still not enough. Imaging exhilaration of knowing that Richard and Katy would be featured in another book, The Amendment! My joy could not be contained!

In The Amendment, we join Richard and Katy in their lives after The Baby Clause but during some events that happened in the BAM series. Therefore I recommend reading The Contract, The Baby Clause, Bently, Aiden, Maddox, and Reid if you want all the information you need to understand the relationships in The Amendment.

The Amendment shows our favorite couple riding high on life. Richard is well aware that he has it all! The perfect career, the best of friends, but most importantly, his wife and daughters! He and Katy are living their Happily Ever After! However something happens that could change life as they know it. Will the love they have be enough to help them survive?

This book takes you through a roller coaster of feelings...love, fear, sorrow, frustration, acceptance, forgiveness, hope, joy...and many, many more. In The Amendment, Melanie Moreland gives us characters that are believably real! She reminds us that, even when you have the perfect person for you, it doesn't mean that they are perfect. At least not all the time. The situations that tests this wonderful family also feels real. Watching how they cope when life throws you a curve ball is, again, storytelling magic!

This story is a must read! Especially if you loved The Contract! It is now my GOAT! (Yes it took that spot from The Contract) The beauty, however, is that it still leaves Richard VanRyan as my GOAT for book boyfriend. In fact, I think I love him even more in The Amendment. A mention before, he is not a perfect, but he is perfect for Katy, Gracie and Heather. This makes him as close to perfect as perfect can get in my book. Katy, again shows great strength, loyalty and courage. She is the glue that keeps this family together! And who cannot love Gracie!

The Contract was a great romance, The Baby Clause was the sweetest thing ever, but you need to read The Amendment! The Amendment

It’s been years since we’ve had the pleasure of being introduced to Richard and Katy. The Amendment touched my heart as Melanie Moreland delivers such a beautiful story.

Richard and Katy’s love shines so bright off the pages of this story. Melanie has such a way with her words that you literally feel like you are in the minds of her characters and are going through everything they are. Feeling all the ups and downs making the story so much more personal and relatable.

Richard and Katy’s book will have you on one crazy emotional ride from start to finish. It is a ride worth taking as Melanie Moreland takes you on Richard and Katy’s journey showing you their road to a hea. If you haven’t read the Contract Series I highly recommend it.

I fell in love with Richard and Katy in the first one... the next two stories was the icing on the cake... This book however... made me fall in love with Richard all over. What an amazing story to add to their love story... I still get goosebumps reading The Contract... and those goosebumps only continued during The Amendment... one word that I didn't like reading... FINAL installment...

Wow - I fell in love with Richard and Katy's story from the first book (Contract) and then again in the second book (Baby Clause) my admiration for the couple grew. Now we have the third book in the series and I just want to give them both a hug. Their marriage will be tested, their strength wil be tested and they will have to hit rock bottom before they can go back up again. Melanie Moreland has a way to bring the characters to life and the reader feels every heart break, every shattered hope and dream and every hopeful triumph. This story will rip your heart out and make you want to slap the characters but in the end the reader will be in a better place than when they started the book. If there was one series that should be a movie - it should be this one.

I absolutely adored Katy and Richard in The Contract. They had their HEA, I was perfectly happy with it! But Melanie Moreland takes us a step further with The Amendment. What happens when your HEA isn't happy any more? What happens when everything you believe about yourself, your life is put to the test?

This book is filled with hope, love, and family. Yes, all those things are threatened here and yes, you will need a box of tissues (maybe two) but the ultimate message is so beautiful and real, I could not put this book down. Another five star book from this author!!

Favorite Quotes:

Love is filled with second chances, Richard. If I didn’t think so, I wouldn’t have answered the phone.

It’s amazing how clear the view can be when one pulls his head out of his ass.

Perks of being Gramps. I turn them over to you when they smell or get too loud.

My Review:

I adore this loving couple, they bring the sizzle to the sheets and when things are good, the fire department needs to be on standby. But we all know that Richards can also be Dicks, and this Richard past and present definitely fit every definition of that moniker.

This book started with the family man and loving husband Richard, on top of his game, successful in his career, newly promoted, and happily married with an intelligent, supportive, and spunky wife; but a drunk driver put a pin in that Richard. When he awoke from a coma, he discovered he had been in a horrific accident, which would put him in a wheelchair and in turn, conjured up an angry and obnoxious Dick who appeared hell-bent on imploding Richard’s perfect life. Richard would have to put in a lot of groveling and hard work to find his way back from Dicklandia. Luckily those tasty and enticing boys from BAM flew in and had his back.

Ms. Moreland’s engaging storylines were well-balanced in emotional tone and written from my favorite dual POV. Her writing was laced with perceptive insights, a sweetly precocious child, witty levity, heart-squeezes, a large cast of endearing characters, and steamy sensuality that had me gasping and nudging up the speed on the ceiling fan.

The Contract is one of my favorite books ever! Richard VanRyan and Katy are one of my favorite couples ever. Their love story is one I love to reread and still love every single time. I guess I need to reread The Amendment after The Contract from now on, because I absolutely loved it! I absolutely adored the emotions and all the characters.

I was a little hesitant to start this story, because Katy and Richard had the perfect happily ever after and I was so happy with that. I should have know Melanie would do an amazing job with the continuation of Katy and Richard’s story. The Amendment was everything I hoped it would be and more.

Richard VanRyan is still the same Richard VanRyan that I know. He’s smart, rich, hardworking, determined and a little arrogant. He’s amazing at his job. He loves his job and the people he works with. Richard has become a real family man. He looks forward to going home, to his Katy and his girls. Richard is loving his life.

Katy is also still the same woman. She’s loyal, kind hearted, strong, loving and feisty. She’s a fighter. She knows what she wants and it’s not easy to change her mind then. Katy stays at home to take care of her daughters who are everything to her. Richard is also everything to her. Katy is loving her life.

Katy and Richard are a beautiful, powerful and solid couple. They love each other so much and have been happily married for a few years. They have a beautiful family together. Both of them can’t imagine life without the other one in it. Everything is perfect. But then something happens that could jeopardize their relationship and their happiness. Richard and Katy will struggle. It broke my heart what they went through sometimes. I just wanted them to be happy again, because they deserve it. The epilogue was perfect and beautiful!

When I heard there was a new Richard story I admit I was happy but also scared to see the old Richard return.
Melanie Moreland has come up with a story where emotions are on the forefront, happiness, love and joy, then fear, anger and heartbreak but in true Melanie fashion she brings it back.
Richard and Katy’s journey this time is hard, though you can almost sympathize with his anger. The surrounding cast of characters show us family isn’t always blood.

GOODNESS GRACIOUS THIS BOOK!!!!

If you haven't read The Contract and Baby Clause, DO IT NOW!!! You need Richard and Katy in your life!!! I was so nervous going into The Amendment, I knew Melanie would just break me, and she did. She broke me, (I knowwww, HOW DARE SHE?!!!) and put my crushed heart back together.

Richard and Katy's relationship is what every couple strives to be. They are equal partners, so loving, so EVERYTHING to each other. They love so hard, so much. I don't want to say too much, because it will spoil it for you, but you see The Gavin Group crew, the BAM boys, Gracie and Heather are just adorable!!!!! The lisp!!!! Be still my heart. This is such a perfect addition to their love story. As much as I wanted to shake Richard, as much as I boo hoo'd for this couple, hands down, this is one of my favorite reads this year! LOVE LOVE LOVE. Fantastically written, these two are just EVERYTHING
and I've fallen in deeper with Richard. Sighhhh.....Well done Melanie

FOREVER. We use that word so casually we tend to forget what it means. Forever, seems a long time coming, but tends to never last long enough. The Contract series is an ode to what that one word means. Richard and Katy embody the best of love at the most heartbreaking of moments. They were and will always be my favorite Melanie Moreland couple. The Amendment is a celebration of the healing power of love.

So obviously, I really enjoyed The Amendment, 5* peeps! Before I started I was worried/ scared even. I'd seen the teasers, so I had all sorts of scenarios running through my head. But let me just tell you I didn't theorize at all well. Melanie knocked out of the park, beyond my wildest expectations.
I started one night then continued the next at 12%, when 86% dawned about 5:35am and my tablet almost broke my glasses as I almost passed out I had to stop. I didn't even realise I'd read so long. I was thoroughly engrossed in the story of Richard & Katy. There was so much to take in, digest & ultimately enjoy. More than 1 chapter I read through tears, others with giggles, some with shock & worry. I hurt, cheered, cursed and loved along the roller coaster with Richard & Katy, my heart physically hurt at times as it plummeted with despair & fear, then soared with love & hope.
It you've not read the start to Richard & Katy's story, you should before you read The Amendment. You'd probably be able to enjoy it somewhat but you'd definitely miss out on an awful lot. I really can't recommend this book and the while series enough.

About two years ago, a friend said there's a book that everyone needs to read and it's on sale so one-click it asap!! That book was The Contract. That book, my first by Melanie Moreland, made me hate then fall in love with Richard VanRyan.

The Amendment is everything I didn't know I needed. Richard and Katy are on a roller coaster and I felt every single one of their emotions: fear, devastation, despair, happiness, and love.

Anyone who has read the Vested Interest series knows those BAM boys will stop at nothing to help their family and Richard and Katy are family. I loved how they showed up and gave all the love and support that Richard and Katy needed, even when they didn't want it.

The Amendment made me fall in love with Richard so much more. Katy is the fiercest woman ever. My heart is so full after finishing this book and seeing how wonderful life can continue to be after the HEA.

The Van Ryans return. I had no idea what to expect from a novel about a couple that already had their HEA but the crack on the cover had me scared. I don't want to give any spoilers, because I think everyone should enjoy this story as much as I did, but I would just like to say that Moreland puts us through the wringer again. I will let her off because she writes a cracking epilogue! I love the strength of the relationships in the story, the essence of family and how together we can find the courage to overcome anything.

Oh Melanie! I wish I could give you a 100-star review for The Amendment because it was spectacular! I'm embarrassed to say that it took me reading all about the BAM boys before I read The Contract to find out just what this character Richard VanRyan was all about. And he's all that and more! I loved he and Katy's love story so much and could not wait to read this book. I had no preconceived notions or ideas about it so needless to say, I went through all the emotions that I usually go through while reading Melanie's books - I laughed, I cried, I wanted to throw things, I couldn't sleep, my heart broke and then my heart sang -- thank you for giving us a look into the lives of Richard and Katy and their extended family. I love these characters so much--all of the Vested Interest books and these books are on my re-read list because I never want to let these characters go. The Amendment exceeded all my expectations, but that's no surprise because this author always exceeds in every way. Pure perfection!

The Amendment is the third and much anticipated and desired book in ‘The Contract’ series. We first met Richard and Katy VanRyan in book 1 The Contract. These characters stole my and other readers’ hearts and in the intervening three years we’ve all wanted more of their story. Melanie tidied us over with the novella, The Baby Clause, and as sweet and tender as that story was, it just whetted our rabid appetites for more, more, more!!
Well, Melanie finally gave us what we wanted and I’m glad to say. Thank you. This book was everything I hoped for and more. In some ways it was different from how I thought it would play out. Ideas fleshed in my mind from teasers didn’t come to fruition but what did occur torn my heart to pieces. Melanie warned us it would happen. I just didn’t expect it to in the way it did.
Aaah, Katy. She’s a tower of strength and determination; Richard pushed certainly made those qualities shine in her. She struggled at times but who wouldn’t given what she had to face?
Richard made me want to shake him, to slap him and then hug and kiss the daylights out of him. His love for Katy and the girls never wavered, but his fears over their future got in his head and almost brought back the bad VanRyan. (Although, we secretly loved him even then, didn’t we??)
This story is filled with all the ragged emotions Melanie knows how to drag out of her audience. It’s a roller-coaster ride of love, despair, defeat, battles and more love. I read it in one sitting and let me tell you know, you will need tissues, a comfy reading spot and possibly some wine to comfort your tangled soul. But never fear. Melanie is here for you. You’ll be broken while reading but you’ll be smiling at the end. And yes. You’ll still be wanting even more from these characters. Theirs is a story that has no end. Not for me. Probably not for you, either.

I love this series. Richard and Katy hold such a special place in my heart. I knew that Melanie was going to take us on an unexpected journey with them. They say that once you have found true love it can be work but no one was expecting what could have been in store for them! She has a way of pulling us into their world and giving you all the feels of her beautiful characters. This was certainly a tear jerker so please have your tissues handy. You and the characters will be broken down but Melanie always finds a way and puts everything back together in a new way! She certainly tested their love, will and once again had their band of friends rally! I absolutely loved getting a visit from all of the old characters that I have grown to love. Just when you think you have it all be careful because in the blink of an eye you may be left in pieces and in need of repair ! LOVED It!

The Amendment is the third book in The Contract series by Melanie Moreland and the final book in the story of Richard and Katy VanRyan.

I was so afraid to read this book because they already had their HEA. But I should have trusted Melanie because it was beautiful. Yes, sure. It was emotional and heartbreaking. And you could feel the emotion of katy and her angst and her heartbreak. You could also feel Richard’s desperation and his frustration.
Love the side characters so much. This is a story about family and brotherhood A story about being there for each other. A story of second chances. So emotional and made me cry a few times.

If you’ve never read this series, you should start right away. It’s amazing.

5 STARS!!

I can’t say I enjoyed this book, but it is all on me. I simply don’t like the topic this book is based on, and because of that I realize I should have never started it. The first installment has a perfect closed HEA and there really was no need for more. To be fair, I didn't know what this book was about, if I had known I would have passed immediately. This is not the kind of story I want to read, not because any lack on the plot or storytelling but due to personal preferences alone. I intensely dislike everything related to illness, sickness, or any kind of medical condition and this book is all based on that. That is why it was hard for me to finish it and why I didn’t actually like it. I just feel it wound’t be fair to give it less stars because of that, and thus my 3 star rating.
I truly feel that this book was unnecessary, and although I see that many people would love it and want more of this couple, to me it is painful and ruins somewhat the previos HEA. I could have been perfectly ok with an actually Happy Ever After instead of Happy For A While, then having this unhappy experience in their way and finally back to HEA. I read romance and fiction to escape reality, I don’t need extra suffering on a romance. But that is just me…

P.S: I am kind of annoyed by Richard (A.K.A. the Author) saying that he wants a boy so he can talk about cars, sports and girls to him. He can do all those things with girls too and having a boy doesn’t guarantee that his son will actually like any of those things. There are many other reasons you can give to want a boy that doesn’t have to do with gender roles. Consequently, I found the comment pretty sexist, antiquated and sad.

5 Star Review The Amendment (The Contract #3) by Melanie Moreland

Having read and fallen in love with Richard and Katy in The Contract and The Baby Clause and again seen glimpses of them, most recently in Reid, I wasn’t sure what Ms. Moreland had in store for one of my favourite couples.

Melanie Moreland drew me into the story from the first page. I kept thinking just one more chapter and I just couldn't put it down until I had finished.

The Amendment had me in tears and was an emotional roller coaster of a read. Can Richard and Katy overcome The Amendment and fight for love or are they destined to fail?

The story was extremely well written and it was great to be back in the world of Richard, Katy and their family and friends.

For fear of accidentally posting spoilers, this review is short. All I will say is one click this book and read for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

Holy mother ! For one, I love all your stories but Richard is my favorite. I guess I love assholes with redeeming qualities and you Melanie never disappoint. Your stories are always filled with sweetness, love and now THIS!!! I never expected what you gave us in The Amendment. This was a real test for their relationship. I cannot imagine what this would be like to live but you wrote it beautifully.
Where to start...boy meets girl, boy pays girl to pretend be in love, boy is an a-hole to the girl and she's saint. Then boy discovers a world he never thought he could have. When we thought they were living their happily ever after comes the biggest challenge they'll have as family and as partners.
They'll get their happily ever after, but first they'll have to get through this.

Richard and Katy have had an emotional ride before this book ever started. They are happy though and it shows. Richard has become a loving husband and devoted father. Katy is his rock. Unexpected things happen and their world becomes a nightmare. Not that I had the exact same experience but one that has all the same emotions that Richard and Katy go through. Their marriage is tested to almost breaking and what they must endure will either make them stronger or not. I voraciously devoured this book. It was so difficult to put down. Superb job by Melanie Moreland.

This book should come with a warning label "WARNING: CRYING IS INEVITABLE MUST HAVE TISSUE." This book rocked me to the core. I ugly cried through almost the whole book. Melanie Moreland really outdid herself this time. She rips her readers souls out and crushes them leaving us to pick up the pieces and put our hearts back together in the happier moments.

The characters in this book are wonderful and have amazing hearts and souls. Of course there were times that I wanted to throat punch Richard, but hey he was being a real bastard. That Katy is one strong woman, that's for sure. I also love how our BAM boys from the Vested series make themselves known in this wonderful series. I love how the two worlds between the series blends so beautifully. It makes for a truly wonderful read.

The Contract series is not a new series, but one that started a few years back. I love how Melanie was able to pick it back up and still create a beautiful read. With a mix of old and new characters this story was one for the Hallmark channel. Then again Hallmark has nothing on Melanie. She mixes sweet and innocent with a bit of dirty and naughty. Giving these books top notch sex appeal.

This book overall was one amazing read. If you love a good cry, then this is for you. But don't say I did not warn you.....gut wrenching. This smooth flowing story has amazing characters, tragedy and love beyond belief. You will not be disappointed.

Well so much to say about this story, so many feelings, lots of emotions. To say I’m not normally a fan of ‘after the happy ever after’ stories is an understatement, they can be a little dull. Not The Amendment, no, nothing dull in this story, far from it. A few surprises that I wasn’t expecting from The VanRyans. My emotions were running high, I hadn’t prepared myself for the rollercoaster ride I embarked on whilst reading. Obviously no spoilers, all I can say is, perfect writing and an awesome story, Melanie writes the best words with the best characters, just let me tell you there’re few cameo appearances I’m sure you’ll love, I certainly did. Oh and those adorable children, I just loved them. Another five star read for me. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.

After The Contract and The Baby Clause, Richard and Katy had a pretty perfect life. They had overcome their hurdles and Richard was living very differently than he ever dreamed he deserved or could have. But in The Amendment, Melanie's 3rd book in this series, their lives are shaken up.

Richard and Katy's idyllic existence is threatened and Richard has choices to make. Has he really changed from his old ways and can Katy deal with the man he has become? All is on the line as family and friends attempt to help.

True friendships are put to the test and lines are blurred between family and friends. I had to bring out the tissues to get through this book. The men of BAM came through for Richard and my heart melted at the strength of their bond. Gracie had her tiny starfish hugging body completely wrapped around my heart and in true Melanie fashion, we get our HEA. The epilogue, *sigh* is just perfect.

If you haven't read the first two books, grab them up and if you have, you don't want to miss this book, the only one in the Vested Interest Series to have 3 books! I only wish I could give it more than Five Stars!!

A Powerful Journey!

I fell in love with Katy and Richard in The Contract. I didn't know how Ms. Moreland could top the beginning of their love story, but she absolutely did. Katy and Richard's happily ever after hits a major roadblock in The Amendment. Tragedy threatens to topple all that they have built together. This book is an emotional journey about hope and faith and family and love. Katy's strength and resilience is inspiring.  Richard's perspective is raw and gut wrenching. Throughout this story the bonds of love are tested and strengthened.  I was once again blown away by Katy and Richard's love. An added bonus was getting to revisit some of my favorite characters from The Contract and the Vested Interest Series. This is one of my top reads of 2019!
