How long does it take for Cytotec to work? In most cases Misoprostol will have an effect within 4 hours and you will start getting cramps and bleeding. The symptoms (pain, blood loss, nausea, diarroea, etc.) can last for up to 12 hours but should diminish when the abortion is complete.
