Telegraph Pole Appreciation for Beginners: Key Stages 1 - 4

Rate this book
A humorous, whimsical and eccentric look at telegraph poles and their aesthetic qualities as they punctuate our landscape. Featuring telegraph poles in art, history, missing-cat posters and even how to read telegraph poles. This book, a continuation of the long-running and ever-popular humourist website, has 148 colour pages of photos, illustrations, posters, information, mis-information and down-right made-up stuff. Random, off-the-wall, yet strangely knowledgeable - this is one book NOT to judge by the cover.

Wow. Now I’m no telegraph pole appreciating neophyte. (You don’t grow up with my father without learning to appreciate a pole at a young age), but who knew there was so much more to these humble harbingers of the stories of your grandmothers latest casserole debacle? That instead of just delivering electricity, these silent sentinels stand ready to deliver endless entertainment, for those bold enough to stare down the endless lines of wire instead OF THE STATION WAGON COMING RIGHT AT YOU OH GOD WE’RE IN THE WRONG LANE FOR THE LAST BLOODY TIME WILL YOU KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE DAMN ROAD. I will admit, focus has been a struggle since becoming a lifetime member of the Telegraph Pole Appreciation Society. Not much else seems to matter, and my appreciation of manhole covers has taken a complete backseat. Almost flew right into a mountain the other day trying to get a good photo of a particulary attractive line of poles out towards Chattanooga. Ah well, can you think of a better way to go, than tangled up in a nice telegraph poles high voltage embrace? Me either.
