Dirty Damsels is a smoldering retelling of Cinderella with chemistry off the charts, an indestructible self-made heroine and a prince of a hero willing to sweep her off her feet. Best romance I've read this year, hands down. Highly recommend!

Why did I pick this up knowing damn well I wasn't going to find much to like about it. I'm nothing but a damn masochist I tell you! Nevertheless there's not much to say about this. This instant love, mediocre romance, dull characters and most definitely forgettable read didn't hit any good spots. At all. I have pretty much ended up skimming… a lot so it's easy to see that this just wasn't for me.

Dirty Damsels is a modern version of Cinderella, and I seriously enjoyed it a lot! Cynderella, aka Ella, has built Dirty Damsels up into a very successful cleaning business. However, it hasn't left much time for a successful love life. When several of her girls come down with the flu, she has to clean a place herself, and this is when she comes face to face with Buddy, the hottest guy she's ever seen. And when she sees him later that night at the club she's at, she does something she's never done before, she hooks up with him, and boy did they light the sheets on fire. However, when a potential hostile takeover threatens her business, Ella learns that Buddy, aka Dylan Prince, so things go sideways. Now angst is showing up big time in the story. Obviously at this point, there are some twists, which had my f-bombs dropping. On top of all of this, Ella has a horrible stepmother & stepsisters, and somehow they have showed up in the middle of this with their own drama. So how is Ella going to deal with all of these bumps in the road? You'll have to read it for yourselves to find out! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I'm a big fan of Peggy Jaeger's romance novels, and I've been devouring a bunch of them lately. This one was a fast-paced read. There's plenty of hot love scenes, but also romantic ones. The characters were people I truly cared about, and I hope Nell and Danny get their own stories. The hero was to die for. All in all a very pleasurable book!

Just like in the original, it’s instalove for Cynderella and her Prince - but unlike the fairytale, this book features a one night stand, a sassy businesswoman and a Prince who is on the side of the enemy. It’s a quick, steamy read that’s interesting but more focused on the physical aspect of their relationship than delving deeper. The story follows Ella (yes, her name is Cynderella) and Buddy Prince. Ella runs her own cleaning business and ends up cleaning a home herself when all of her employees are out sick. It’s there that she meets Buddy, a mysterious stranger she’s drawn to instantly. When they run into each other again, they share a steamy evening that Ella will always look back on fondly. Unfortunately, it turns out Buddy is actually a business consultant who has been tasked with aiding an old family friend in taking Ella’s business away from her. Ella’s not sure if she can trust Buddy - was he using her to get ahead in business, or did he really feel the same connection that she did?

I enjoyed a lot of the book, and the writing style is good. Some of the Cinderella references were a little on the nose for my liking, though the characters do laugh about it. We also don’t get Buddy’s perspective on things - it’s all written from Ella’s point of view. I think that would’ve helped me feel the emotional connection between them a bit more - to hear and feel what he is thinking about Ella, and his intentions. He seems like a really sweet guy, but a lot of their time is spent in the bedroom so the reader still doesn’t know a lot about him when the book ends. Overall, it’s an interesting story that could’ve been much better with a few small changes.

My first read from Peggy Jaeger and I absolutely loved it. Dirty Damsels was a beautifully written love story that had me from the first chapter.

With similarities to a classic fairytale, this romance has a Cynderella evil step mother, ugly stepsisters, even a Price Charming, all with grown up themes.

Looking forward to reading more from this author.

An updated fairytale that shows how a chance encounter can change everything! A quick, fun read that is very entertaining. Hoping for more books because the secondary characters were just as likeable.

I really enjoyed this modern retelling of Cinderella. I thought the chemistry between the MC's was smoking hot. I'm hoping for more fairy tale updates, like maybe Nell's story! *fingers crossed*

When I saw Peggy Jaeger had a new book, I hit the "buy" button without a second thought. Really. I didn't even read the blurb, or realize this was a remake of a classic fairy tale (which is a weakness of mine!) I saw the author's name and purchased. And am so glad I did!

Great writing, great characters, and a great retelling of everyone's favorite bedtime story.

I love the way this author gets inside her characters heads and I simply love the way she tells a story. Dirty Damsels is another example of superb storytelling, as Jaeger gives us a classic Cinderella tale with a modern twist, as well as a dash of her trademark quirky humor in her heroine's voice.

Written in first person POV, this modern day Cinderella didn't wait for a prince to rescue her when her father died and stepmother abandoned her. Instead, she started her own company, put herself through college, got an MBA, and is now a highly successful small business owner. Who is now about to fend off corporate raiders. When she meets Buddy, she's instantly drawn to him and the one-night stand almost seems inevitable. And steamy! (This is definitely a few shades steamier than Jaeger's previous books, but the author's trademark sensuality and longing are all still right there in her descriptions.)

And THEN she finds out Buddy is on the team of corporate raiders.

The chemistry between Ella and Duncan "Buddy" Prince crackles off the page. The modern twist to the evil stepmother and nasty stepsisters was also so much fun to read. The fact that the "Prince" doesn't rescue Cinderella in the traditional sense also worked for me, as did the thread of the "forgiveness" theme running through the background, a concept Jaeger has explored in previous works.

Jaeger did a remarkable job breathing new life into this timeless fairy tale and I absolutely loved every minute of this story. The secondary characters are well-developed and add to the story -- and make me hopeful that there are more stories in this series to look forward to!

Five stars for a steamy, satisfying read that leaves you smiling and still wanting more

Hot, fast and female based. This romance is hot, steaming hot. It does follow the typical patterns of a romance but it is a nice read.

Dirty Damsels

Cynderella, aka Ella, owned a cleaning business and was forced to one day to work a job. She was cleaning when someone arrived without her knowledge. Buddy was admiring the view of the cleaner. They met again at a bar and hit it off. Ella found out that Buddy was kind of the enemy because he was working for a person who wanted to buy her business. Allegations are thrown into the fray. Misunderstandings happen. Can it all get put back together? A very nice book.

I love when an author takes a classic story and gives their take on it, and Peggy gives us exactly that with this story! Based on the premise of Cinderella, Cynderella has built a business from the ground up out of necessity when her father suddenly dies while she is in college and her stepmother cuts her off in every way possible. Fast forward years later, and her business is thriving and growing, but Ella seems to be lonely as she continues to have bad luck in dating. When filling in one day for a staff member out sick, she runs into a man and sparks instantly fly, but since that never happens and he is technically a client, nothing comes of it. As fate would have it, the two run into each other later and decide to give into their desires. As a possible hostile takeover threatens her business, she finds out that her mystery man, non other than Dylan Prince, ends up having ties to that threat. Overall, this was a great take on the classic Cinderella, and I hope we get stories for Ella’s friends, as they were as much part of this book as the two main characters were!

What happens when a modern day Cinderella has a one night stand with a man named Prince?

Cynderella Jones, Ella to her friends and family, owns a thriving and successful cleaning service called dirtydamels. 30, single and a self imposed recycled-virgin, Ella is looking to keep her company private. But when her business manager tells her he's heard scuttlebutt about a takeover, she realizes she needs a plan to protect her business. Before she can, she has to navigate through a week where sick calls and marriages lighten her work force. When she goes out on a cleaning call for a very influential client, she meets a man so hot, so exciting, she literally comes out of her exiled celibate-state and has a one-night fling with him. But when Cynderella discovers he's the front man for the supposed takeover, she scrambles to protect her heart and her company.

This is a modern take on Cynderella with the wicked step mum, daughters & Buddy Prince.
After her fathers death Ella has to make her own way in life after being cut off from funds. Determined to succeed she finds a niche market in cleaning & opens a successful business.
While cleaning one of her friend's properties she encounters a hunk & there is an instant attraction. They meet again & its lust at second sight! Lol.
Unbeknownst to them their lives are intertwined through mutual friends & business. This is where it becomes very tricky when a few things are on the line. Add in a few cliches here & there making this a fairytale like romance. There are some great secondary characters to add into the mix as well as our strong h & a decent likeable H.

Loved this book! The story was a present day retelling of the Cinderella story, but with a take charge heroine and Prince Charming is a business consultant.I
Ella owns the Dirty Damsels cleaning business. Buddy is in town to consult for a friend of his father, he is also the nephew of one of Ella's best clients. They meet when she has to fill in for a sick employee and both are instantly smitten. They bump into each other at a club and decide to hook up. She finds out he is working for the man who wants to take over her business but cannot resist the pull of their attraction. They have a misunderstanding and she goes to see him in DC to apologize. He decides to relocate and they have their HEA.

Take a fairy tale story character, add some sass and gumption and a whole lot of business acumen, then mix with a handsome prince who sweeps her off her feet in New York City. Throw in some hot hot hot nights and some swoonworthy sacrifices, and you've got Dirty Damsels, Peggy Jaeger's newest novel, book one in a new series. DotComGirls.
What I loved about this book is that it wasn't the typical business rivals trying to undermine each other throughout the whole story. And that most of the misunderstanding were cleared up almost immediately instead of causing all the problems to begin with.
This story, (first person, heroine's point of view), has sass, banter, steam, conflict, and of course the requisite Happily Ever After of all good fairy tales.

A modern day twist on the classic Cinderella. Dirty Damsels is a cleaning company that Ella has built from the ground up and has made it a very successful business. I’ve read a number of the fairy tale re-telling books, but this one is just fun, and one of my favorites. When Ella has a one night stand, she has no idea that the man she’s with is a man aiding a greedy business man to take over her company. But does he know who she is, and is he using her to help his client?

This is a quick read and kept me smiling and glued to the pages – and that’s saying a lot since contemporary romances are not my normal go-to read. Too bad we all can’t have our own Prince.
A steamy romance with great characters – and this just may go on my to-be-read-again pile for when I need to be pulled out of a funk.

Modern take on a fairy tell story Cynderella/Ella working hard for her cleaning company when she meets Dylan Prince not knowing he is involved with the possible takeover of her company which was started by her step-mother. Ella and Prince spend one night together after their explosive chemistry but all fairy tells come to a end when she finds out he is part of the take-over. What will happen with Ella and Prince?

This is a great start to a new series by one of my favorite authors! Dirty Damsels is definitely steamier than Ms. Jaeger's other work, but the characters and storyline weren't sacrificed for the love scenes. Both are topnotch. This modern-day retelling of Cinderella had the requisite evil villains who you love to hate. And the protagonists were both well-rounded, likable characters, and I was rooting for their happy-ever-after. Already looking forward to the second book in the series!

This is a modern day take on Cinderella ... Cynderella has definitely not had a fairy tale life, her stepmom is evil and of course she even has evil step sisters. I love that her and Buddy meet while she is cleaning a apartment and he has no idea who she really is. I will say when she has a one night stand with him I was super shocked .. and then to find out his true identity it all blows up! I will say they both handle certain things badly but it ends up way better than I thought.

This is a modern day telling of the old fairy tale. The author does a great job developing the story and bringing strong likable characters with a hot chemistry and fiery passion. I loved watching the sparks fly between Ella and her Prince with all the sass and bantering throughout. I enjoyed and would recommend this book.

It's not what i expected but in a good way.
A really enjoyable read. I liked the heroine, how she tries to make a life by working hard and also living her life with her friends There are some great intimate moments between the main characters, some angsty situations as well and a good story overall. I think i wanted a bit more of them together but i enjoyed it as it was a fast-paced one and I'm looking forward to more books by the author

What a gem of a book. It was so well written that I wish it had been longer. Ella (Cynderella) and Duncan Prince (Buddy) are two great characters who are adorable together. I love the take on the fairy tale and it was well done on the authors part. The secondary characters were great too and I hope they get their own stories. I do wish the book was longer so that the author could have gone into more depth with the story. Cute, funny, charming, sexy, and romantic. A win-win.
