Hesse's autobiography (ish) detailing his own thoughts on his journeys to various places in his life - but really, it’s less about the places he goes to and more about what it feels like to be human — lonely, searching, and trying to find beauty and understanding. It's stories that all of us can probably relate to - his feelings towards his friends, travelling to meet them, his family and his siblings, his wife, and his solo travels for healing and expression.
