This story hits close to home for me. The month of August is a hard time for my family and I because August is the month my father passed away from a heart attack. So this story really resonates with me as I have a few memories with my father that my younger siblings didn't get to have as he passed away when we were all so young and one of my brothers, like Ian, wasn't born yet when he passed. Like Ian and Barley I'd give anything for just one day with my dad. Plus the cover art is beautiful and this book follows the move to a T. This story, book and movie, will forever be one of my favorites as I relate to it so much.
if this is my only 5 star read of the year i will not be disappointed at all . because i mean , IT'S ONWARD !!!!!! the title in of itself speaks the volumes of how much i absolutely adore the movie & this book .
This was a very quick read for both myself and my 10 year old son. We read it before seeing the movie. The movie was pretty much verbatim of the book. Both were a fun adventure read.
This book is so much like the movie. I love to use my imagination in this book. This is a children book but it is good writing. I love the relationship between the brothers.
