After she is forced to choose between dying with Gabrielle or reliving her dark past, Xena finds herself cast into Hell, where she is commanded to lure Thor into leading the war against Heaven.
A graphic novel that starts with Xena and Garbrielle being crucified by Romans. I don't know if there was another graphic novel before this that explains how they ended up captured or if this just jumps right into that with no explanation.
They are actually in love with each other. Caesar has been killed and Xena ends up being taken to Zeus who is mad that she has stopped being evil. Xena and Callisto end up fighting. Then there's an evil Xena in hell and she is going to lead an attack on Heaven.
There;s also a short story.
I didn't care much for this. Again, I don't know if there was a lead-up to their being crucified or not but I do find that confusing. Neither main story makes much sense to me. I also don't care much for the artwork.
I love the art in this one! The likenesses of Callisto and Xena are great. Unfortunately, the story is a re-tread of things we’ve already seen on the show. Xena has had many chances to take different paths and change timelines.
A bit of a cash grab here to reuse the story line from season 4 finale and season 5 premiere, the likeness of Xena and Callisto was amazing but the story was a bit of a disappointment.
After being crucified by the Romans along with Gabrielle (Season 4, episode 21: Ides of March) Xena must save her soul from Callisto, who is still trying the please her master. The artwork and storyline are superb!
