"I liked everything about this book except the ending where I got killed. Books aren't supposed to end like that." Miss C (age 7)

You and a friend are taken on a trip to become a Jedi Warrior. Master Yoda has called you both and only one of you can become a Padawan for Master Bant Eerin. There is a test to choose between the two. The reader gets to choose their own path. The book does not read like a regular book. In order to move on to the next task, readers have to choose which path to follow. This series will keep the reader engaged and will not make for a boring, regular read.

As a Science Fiction lover, I chose this book because it was something I was shocked to see in the children’s section. I thought it would read out like a regular book, from cover to cover, but was amazed at how much fun it was. The first chapter starts on page 3 and the next is on page 80 and the next on page 151. From page 151, the reader has to pick a number 1-10 and double it, then divide by two and subtract from the first number they thought of. What is left is the next page number to proceed to. It was a fun book to read and I cannot wait to read the remainder of the series.

The story contains elements of space travel and technology that does not exist in the reality. There are droids (robots) assigned to each Padawan fighter and as a new Jedi, the reader gets one of their own. As a Padawan, you even get to pilot your own plane. The hypothesis about mankind’s future is that he is always at war, but mostly with himself. This is seen with the reader’s friend Jaylen, whom Yoda agrees is quick to have a temper. Jaylen is determined to prove himself an excellent fighter even at the expense of his friendship with the reader. Chapters are short which is great. Going back and forth in the book, one would lose their place and train of thought, even a bookmark would prove useless for there are so many paths that can be taken.

I read it with my daughter. We loved it, though most of the endings - tragic endings - puzzled her a bit ("Why did they have to die once more?..."). Well, she's new in the Star Wars universe, she will learn in time to enjoy Star Wars traditional neverending death experiences.

This book was ok. It kept my 6 year old interested for sure. It is an interesting premise to choose your own story. But I felt like it was building but never really went anywhere

You are selected as a Padawan and sent on your very first mission. The choices you make will determine the outcome of your journey, and possibly your life. Choose wisely.

Whether you decide to command a clone army or save your Jedi Master, you are sure to run into adventure at every turn. You will run into both friends and enemies, so you must proceed with caution. You may not like the outcome, but then again you may just save the galaxy.

I love Choose Your Own Adventure books, and this one doesn't disappoint. I always read these with multiple bookmarks at hand, because I like to explore all the paths that are offered. It can get confusing at times, but that's the nature of the genre. This book is written for children, so it does have a simpler set of plots than the average Star Wars book, but it is true to the series and the characters and it's a lot of fun for a Star Wars fan to get into the adventure.

I was expecting a story told from the point of view that we see within the show, but you truly read as if you are the Jedi Knight. I was very charmed by some of the gimmicks like choosing a number and then dividing it by two and so on which "using the force" leads you to your page number. It is lacking in terms of plot but is extremely serviceable. I think that it is prefect for a junior novel and a great short and sweet read. I usually do not read more than one or two branches of choose your own adventure books, but I may go back and read the others.

Set in 21BBY

A decent enough adventure in the midst of the Clone Wars, you read as a young Tethan trying to survive between the war of Jedis/Clones VS the Separatists, it reads more like the newer stories of the SWEU than the older more adult-like ones. Oh, and also as most of CYOAs in Star Wars, prepare to die a LOT.

This was a book where you choose your own destiny. The destiny I chose was to be a Jedi master's padawan. I went from page 3 to page 152 and then to page 27 and page 28 which is where I finished. It was a great book.

My boys were glued to this one...hey, it's Star Wars and choose-your-own-adventure. We read every single ending, and I was impressed by the variety in the stories even though Star Wars is not my favorite reading subject.

A fun quick read. I loved the "Chose Your Own Adventure" books when I was younger, so I couldn't say no when I found this at my library. You can read just once or many times and come to a different end. The writing's pretty simplistic, but seeing as the book is meant for kids that's understandable.
