When Wall Street Journal and USA Today Best Selling Author's nose isn't buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she's in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It's a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn't listen to her...

I listen to this on ReadMeromance.. and it was okay for me.. maybe ill read the ebook when it comes out.. i did enjoy the narration so woo!

let me repeat this DONT LET A "FRIEND" MAKE YOU DOUBT YOUR RELATIONSHIP AND HAVE YOU BREAK UP WITH A GREAT GUY CUZ YOU NEED TO BE SINGLE.. NO!! those aren't your friends!! I hated that Dani listened to that bitch and find out the bitch really wanted her man.. and was causing some problems... glad she grew a spine and said fuck it.. I'm getting my man back..
as for John I love John.. disliked some of his roommates ideas.. those roommates wanted John to get another chick.. glad he didn't
OMG THE LIST MADE MEEEE LAUGH!!! and how badddd those idea's are get my girl back things were..
HAHAH SHE PEPPER SPRAYS HIM!!!! thats what he gets for acting like a stalker lol
also i was disappointed there was no smut.. or the bitch Airia didnt get hers.. :/

lowww angst, kind of ow drama.. no om drama, tiny drama, secondary charas, no virgins

This is why so many authors don't write in friends during romance. Dani and John were dating but Dani allowed her friends to talk her into breaking things off with John. Dani then realizes that she made a mistake and John is miserable without Dani. They both decide to do things to get each other back but things do not go as it is planned. This was a fun, sweet, and lightly sexy breakup getting back together story.

This specific video review will be included in the July 2019 wrap-up.

4 short and fun stars!

This is a quick, fun little read. Romantic and laugh-out-loud funny, it’s 58 pages of pure entertainment, and I really enjoyed it.

This novella is technically #2.5 in the Tempt series – it’s the story of John, who is roommates with Austin and Noah in college (Austin and Noah are the heroes from books 1 & 2 in the Tempt series, and John appears as a side character in their books). I freaking loved getting to see these guys again, especially in their younger years, but as this novella takes place way before we meet them in the full-length books, this one can absolutely be read as a standalone.

John and Dani have just broken up and both of them are miserable about it. Dani dumped her boyfriend after listening to her roommate go on and on about how college should be her wild years and she’s too young to be tied down. Yeah, I know, it’s kinda weak and I was worried I’d be annoyed at Dani for dumping John over something so stupid, but just go with it, because John is not prepared to walk away , and it’s all resolved really quickly, and watching him go about winning back his girl is hilarious – especially when his roommates come on board to ‘help’.

“We eat on that fucking table. There are rules, Noah, like no banging unless it’s in your room or the shower.”
“John banged Dani on the couch last week.” He points at me. “I watched.” He smiles. “You did good, grasshopper,” he says as he raises his hand for a high-five.
“You fucking watched?” I yell at him.

It’s a really quick read, but it’s so much fun and made me laugh out loud so many times. I loved seeing these boys together again, and it’s got me all excited for yet another reread of this series that I love so much.

“It’s her,” I say quietly. “From the moment I met her, it was like my world was knocked into place.”

I loved it – 4 stars

I wanted to rate this higher because there were so many things I liked about this novella. The writing was funny, and the author did a great job with the characters. Both John and Dani were likeable and the whole college setting and wider cast of characters drew me into the story; she created an engaging world that I would have been interested in reading more about. I also liked the narrators. In the last RMR I listened to the narrator sounded elderly, so I was happy that the female narrator in this actually sounded like she could be in her early twenties.

I think my problem with this story is that for a novella, there were too many misunderstandings that took away from the relationship between the main couple. I was anticipating their reunion all the way through because I thought they would have explosive chemistry, only for it to end on a 'fade to black'. I don't need a sex scene to enjoy the book, but it's not as if this book was entirely PG (the characters are in college and there was plenty references to sex throughout), so I can't fathom why the author chose to end the story with barely an interaction between the main couple after so much build up. SO disappointing :(

3 1/2 ⭐️. I listened to the podcast of this. There’s a lot of college drama. I prefer adults and not as much drama. Sexy time was very weak.

Literally laugh out loud funny. Loved the bromance and enjoyed the second chance romance. Good narrators, too. My first book from this author, but I fully intend to check out her backlist.

I'm not sure how to describe this novella...it was light, fun and (kinda) sweet... What It did is it showed me how sometimes when we don't trust our instincts and trust the wrong person we could end up losing something amazing.

This was an enjoyable read to add to my I-love-Natasha-Madison list.

Okay but what in the middle grade school relationships was this?! Arya was just weird and the well known high class bitch and neither Dani nor John were smart enough to just put their pride aside to ask the other how things are

This story just annoyed me tbh

Kinda cute, kinda swoony and a whole whack of collage-aged, smut-free, rom-com drama.

TBH, early on I wanted to give Dani an open palm to the back of the head, LOL, but not as much as I wanted to punch someone else in the ovaries. So glad Dani sorta finds her backbone...but is it wrong I’m disappointed that a certain conniving banshee didn’t get her comeuppance? 🤷🏻‍♀️😆

John was sweetly heartbroken, giving me early feels. Along with Austin & Noah, John’s overloaded with testosterone-filled man-logic roommates, these three dipsticks set about getting Dani back.

Easy listening, great narration. Personally I would’ve loved a little more romance with the MC’s together.

DNF at 25%. This was the weakest story I’ve heard on RMR so far. For one (and certainly not the fault of the author), the female narrator has a whiny voice that sounds like a child. This was such an irritant that it overcame any interest I had in continuing her sections. Secondly, if I wanted a good story about how a woman caved into pressure and broke up with her wonderful boyfriend, I’d read “Persuasion”. Thirdly, there’s the issue about the main characters being so thoroughly immature that the likelihood of their relationship having any potential permanency is laughable.

this was quite literally the worst thing i've ever read. the writing was bad and the whole plot was god awful. why the fuck would a man ever decide to leave creepily written notes to his ex girlfriend and follow her around like a stalker to try to "win her back"??????? no fucking clue. i hated every minute of this. ALSO WE DIDN'T EVEN GET ANY SEX FOR OUR TROUBLES. there was like one half scene AND IT WAS FADE TO BLACK. WHAT. WHY. life is so unfair sometimes. anyway yeah don't read this.

Super cute and quick read/listen through the Read Me Romance Podcast! Tempt The Ex is a perfect example of why listening to people instead of your heart is the worst thing you can do. I had a ton of fun listening to this one as there was a crap ton of laugh out loud moments that had me grinning during my commute to and from work. I do wish that there was more steam and chemistry in this one between our hero and heroine--like words are nice, but ya girl is craving actions behind it.

3.25 stars. This was another audiobook I listened to on the Read Me Romance podcast. This book is set in college and was full of college drama. I felt it juvenile at times with silly miscommunications causing the conflict. It was not my usual type of read. Still, I was entertained by this audiobook in general. I do think it's worth reading. It is a quick read and I do think the couple loved each other.

Een heerlijke short read om zeker nog eens op te pakken als je zin hebt in een humoristisch feelgood verhaal.
Stiekem hoop ik op meer van John en Dani omdat ik denk dat er nog veel meer is gebeurd na de studenten tijd.

Eh. Ok. I like the premise, but felt there was too much waffling and inconsistency on the hero and heroine’s part. And maybe I’m too old, but it’s hard for me to feel the agony of love in 18 or 19 year olds…

Eh, it was ok. Not enough steam for me to be honest. And the reason she broke up with him...well that seemed really dumb to me.

2.5 sterren, een beetje onvolwassen en de mannen zijn behoorlijk oversekst maar er zaten wel aardige stukjes in.
