L.M. (Leia Marie) Gose lives in Colorado with her family on their small farm in the mountains. Born a dual citizen of Canada and the US, Leia was raised a military brat, exploring the world and appreciating the cultures it has to offer.

"Write the book you want to exist"... She wanted a wholesome, inclusive fantasy. She wanted a book that reflected the world we lived in... so she wrote it. she wrote a book that had people of all colours, people of all backgrounds and she gave them the respect they deserved. This is something she will continue to do for the rest of my books. Descend launched the world into an epic fantasy with more representation to be even more inclusive. Transcend continued that journey and allowed for the twins to grow and mature. Gravesend releases on October 31, 2022. Contend follows in 2024.

While she writes about ancient mythology, folklore and creationism, she is a staunch (and happy) athiest with a belief in science and spirituality that transcends traditional religion. She also hopes she doesn't offend anyone with her twist on the creation myth and hopes people remember that she writes fantasy-fiction dedicated to creating a more inclusive world for future readers. She hopes that through her writings and her life, she can make the world just a little more accepting and beautiful for all those in it.

Not to be biased because I wrote it but I am: It's a really wholesome, inclusive coming of age story about fraternal twins Arya and Xavier. They are about to turn sixteen as perfectly ordinary kids raised by a single mom, living in Peak's Village, Colorado when they learn everything they think they know is all wrong. Their mother is the Lilith from legend and their father is nothing they ever expected. After they "ASCEND" to claim their birthright, they discover the world their mother kept hidden and the terrible, dark secret family history.

Filled with a rich tapestry of characters that help weave an inclusive new take on Ancient Mythos. Modern elements combine with folklore to create an all new adventure for fans of fantasy and fiction.

Wow, this is a great page turner! The characters are thoroughly built, relatable, fun, and It has some really solid character arcs.

However, the best thing has to be this authors ability to “world” build. She created a universe that explains magic, the devil, evil, everything. I mean she found a way to fit everything in perfectly, really impressive.

Once you find an author that can world build like that read their books, all of them! Super excited to finish this book and read her future ones.

From the start, the story pulls you in and immediately you want to know more. The characters are diverse and have full representation. Very rare to find a book that makes a point to avoid ableism and sexism. The side characters give this story such a unique feel to reading it. Watching the twins grow and figure out who they are was such a fun journey. I was sad to see this story end and am left wanting more. Absolutely plan on purchasing the next installment and further ones to come. For a debut novel, this is beyond what I would expect to see in terms of how well written it is and how amazing the character development is. This should be a must for every parent of teens and anyone who loves YA fiction as much as I do.

I could not put this down!!! So many unexpected twists. Definitely very original and very amazing!!! With most books I can usually guess what is going to happen, but that was not the case with Ascend. I love Arya!!!

When heaven and hell combine.

A brother and sister find out they are children of Lilith and Lucifer. Then the excitement begins. L. M. Gose has created a world to rival Harry Potter. In fact, I think it might actually be better. By opening this world to a new generation L.M. is giving us a chance to explore beyond the norm and into the most unusual of circumstances.

Great Book

The beginning of the book definitely grabbed my attention as I love fantasy novels. The characters are very well developed. And the story line has a few amazing twist and turns. As well as a few that were obvious. My favorite character so far has been Amber. The twins more or less aggravate the living hell out of me. No pun intended 🤣🤣. Seriously they are every bit as defiant as Harry Potter and that’s why I absolutely love them. The book has a few Potter undertones, which made the book familiar in a good way. I’m waiting on the next book in this series. I promise you, take a gander at Ascend. You won’t be disappointed!!

“This book has everything that is desired when reading, first the story flows like a river (I don’t remember it dragging once), second descriptive characters, I felt like I knew everyone that was introduced in this book and not only that, I wanted to know them.”

This book is amazing and very genuine. The author used so many real life situations that needed more light brought to them and added some very creative twists! The book followed so well I did not want it to end. I cannot wait to read all of book two! 100% I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read!

Review – Ascend by LM Gose.
Evil Hogwarts for the win.

What I needed before Christmas, in lockdown, in the UK, was some distraction. I needed taking somewhere else, being surprised by a story and then put down again wanting.
I got all of that from Ascend and more. On the surface, this is a fantasy realism coming of age tale about two teenagers attending a supernatural college. Think Evil Hogwarts. However, the writer has clearly set us up to trip over our own expectations if we’ve got any. And she does it to us again and again in the book. By the end, I felt like I was on some kind of crazy ghost train roller coaster with all the thrills, spectacle and surprise that would entail, and LM Gose was determined not to let us off till she’d good and finished with us. I’ve read books that try to achieve that before and sometimes it feels like being bossed about for two weeks. This book always considers that too, it felt more like being grabbed onto the dancefloor by a hot mystery partner and whirled round the floor for an hour, then being left gasping for breath and looking for a bottle of water.
And you can feel in the story by the end that ‘surely there has to be a sequel’. Well just your luck there is. I’m off to read it now! Great book, 5*. PLA.

Based loosely on the Hebrew myth of Lilith, the first Witch, Ms. Gose has crafted an engaging tale of fantasy, magic, and the struggles common to families - even if this family is highly unusual. Arya and her twin brother Xavier find out that their parents are far from normal - Lilith and Lucifer. As they reach their joint sixteenth birthday, many secrets begin to be revealed, and readers will enjoy the ride.
Ms. Gose does a great job of character development, and if the prolog is ignored, a good job of stringing out the back story through the book. This is the first of a series, and more comes later. The world-building is first-rate, though the many references and nods to JK Rowling's Potter series detract from what could have been a stronger world in its own right. Fans of Harry Potter can enjoy the ride, however. The writing style keeps your interest, the pacing and action don't drag. All in all an enjoyable outing for fantasy fans.

"Ascend" (Children of Lilith, #1) by L.M. Goose is a mythological and supernatural page turner!
Arya and Xavier are two normal kids being raised by a single mother in a friendly mountain town. Their whole world changes when, on their 16th birthday, they discover a family secret that changes their lives, and their identities.

The characters are all fascinating, reimagined from Biblical era stories and mythos. The scenes are diverse and deeply described, with a new world beyond normal. The author created a new universe with strangely relatable characters and a popping pace to the plot.

I recommend this to readers who like magic with mystery and myth.

This was a wonderful book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. After a long, stressful day, it was just the kind of escape I needed from the real world. I loved the main characters and the incredible world they lived in. The only area I felt it was lacking in was the end. It ended without letting me know how some characters were faring that I'd grown to care about a lot. However, this is the first book in a trilogy and I got this bundled with Descend (the next in the series). So, I fully intend to jump right into the next plot point to find out more.

This was such an amazing read!!! I could not and did not want to put it down!!! The way ALL of the characters (not just the main ones) are built leaves you feeling like you truly know them as if they are real people. The imagery makes it feel like you are literally living within the story and seeing everything unfold with your own eyes. I cannot wait for the next book to be released!!! I am left wanting more!!!

I loved this book!! It was riveting and made it easy to connect with the characters. All the characters were diverse, developed in personality throughout the book, and were introduced beautifully into the series. Ascend is one of those books that's really hard to put down once you've started reading. It's well-written and keeps you engaged as you fall more and more in love with the characters.
I can't wait to start reading Book Two!

A wonderful start to a compelling story!

What caught me right away was the incredible world building that was achieved in a very short time. This is a story that hits it straight quickly, and somehow manages to bring everyone up to speed without anything feeling like an exposition dump... Well done!

I bought book three in the series when it was available from the author, so I went out and got book one. I will definitely be buying book two!

An impressive achievement!

I really enjoyed this book! I couldn't put it down!
The story is fantastic and really draws you in.
I love the fact that the story is spilt between 2 main characters, and that there isn't a love triangle, or anything romantic.
I'm also excited to see how everything is going to unfold. It's so not predictable and I love that.
I'm eagerly awaiting the next book.
10/10 will recommend!

Good storyline but punctuation and grammar left a lot to be desired. Particularly the mixing of present and past tenses in sentences, the use of lead (as in lead of a pencil) as the past tense of "to lead", instead of led (I did see led being used once, in the preview chapter for the next book). And Titan is a moon of Saturn, not Jupiter!!

This novel is a fun YA read. I'm glad I read it and I would recommend it to others. The story is compelling and it was hard to put down. I enjoyed the twists on mythology and how they were used to establish the magic system in the book. I was definitely left wanting to read more about Lilith's story. She is absolutely my favorite character.

Overall this was a fun read. I did come across quite a few typos and a couple elements of the story that felt inconsistent. I want to emphasize that this was only mildly jarring to me because I tend to read hypercritically and not because the book can in any way be described as bad. I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

I'll definitely snap up the rest of the trilogy!
