Shy science guy Liam and fun-loving jock Isaiah have been roommates since their freshman year in college. On the surface, they couldn’t be more different. What the rest of the world doesn’t know is that tucked between basketball, classes, and hanging with friends are some of Isaiah’s favorite moments—just Liam and Isaiah in their room, watching documentaries or goofing off. Liam certainly never imagined Isaiah would become one of his favorite people, but their friendship was pretty much solidified the first time Isaiah saved Liam from a killer spider.
When Isaiah discovers Liam is looking for a hookup to help him explore a secret kink, the idea of anyone touching Liam that way sparks a protective instinct Isaiah has never felt before. Then, Isaiah confesses that he’d like to be the one Liam experiments with, and Liam is completely bowled over—equal parts thrilled and wary of ruining their friendship.
From the first sting of Isaiah’s palm, Liam’s fantasy finally comes to life. The more they explore together, the closer they become, uncovering feelings neither were willing to admit before. But outside the haven of their room, reality isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Isaiah isn’t out, and worries about his college basketball career. And Liam won’t be someone’s secret, not after he promised himself he’d stop hiding and being afraid.
Deciding how to navigate the world together will be the final exam they’ll need to ace.

Riley Hart is the girl who wears her heart on her sleeve. She's a hopeless romantic. A lover of sexy stories, passionate men, and writing about all the trouble they can get into together. If she's not writing, you'll probably find her reading.
Riley lives in California with her awesome family, who she is thankful for everyday.
Science & Jockstraps is a college-themed M/M story, featuring a naturally progressing friends-to-lovers romance between roommates Liam and Isaiah.
This was a fun and sexy little read. I had no trouble believing in Liam and Isaiah’s relationship, even from the get-go. They went from a sweet and caring opposites-attract friendship, to realising deeper romantic feelings for one another after Isaiah offered to help Liam explore a secret kink.
Beyond the lite (but steamy AF) kink factor and the positive representation of bisexuality, I also appreciated that this story was practically angst-free. There were no bigoted family members or mean-spirited friends to contend with here, no siree — all the background players were perfectly likeable, providing the friendship, love and support Liam and Isaiah so naturally deserved.
I enjoyed this one a lot, to the point that I’d consider it one of the best, sexiest new adult M/M stories I’ve read all year. 😉
Note: This story is just the first of a series of multi-author standalones, each featuring characters who invariably end up visiting a sex shop called Ace’s Wild. These books can be enjoyed in any order.
I really enjoyed this story, even though I usually prefer older MCs. Fortunately, Isaiah and Liam acted like new adults, not teenagers, and it helped that there was no family drama.
The angst in general is minimal, with Isaiah worried about coming out as bi but finally doing right by Liam.
I liked the dual POV and loved both Liam, all flustered and adorable, and Isaiah, kind of a tough guy jock but smart and caring. Major kudos to the authors for featuring a bisexual MC of color. We need more of that.
I've always been a fan of the friends-to-lovers trope, and even though the story begins when Liam and Isaiah have already been roommates (and friends) for a while, their friendship felt believable. I mean, they watched documentaries together! GAH, I can't with the cuteness.
The guys connected on an intellectual and emotional level, and when Isaiah discovered that Liam yearned to be spanked ... oh boy, it was all systems GO.
Synopsis: a little bit kinky, HOT, and sweet; spanking included!
Liam and Isaiah, aka Science and Jockstrap, are roommates in college. They spend a lot of time together watching science videos and sharing food. But Liam has a secret and when Isaiah discovers it, he realizes it's a secret wish of his too.
This was so sweet and just what I needed at the moment. These two were great together. There was really no angst even though the potential was there. I do wish it was a longer story because jocks and nerds are one of my favorite couple combos.

How fucking cute was this 🥰 I was not expecting to enjoy this story so much so colour me surprised. A wonderful start to what I hope is an excellent series.
Could not connect with these characters at all, everything just felt clunky and forced.
There was so much telling that you never experienced either of these character's feelings at all, so it made it hard for either of them to be particularly likeable.
I was just completely indifferent to their relationship, and for a fairly short story there were just too many side characters taking up time that could have been used to build more realistic main characters and their romance.
Wonderful M/M romance, the scientist and the jock ! Adorable Liam, Science major, has a big basketball player for a college roommate. Straight, African American, Isaiah, likes his little roomie. When Isaiah finds out Liam wants someone to spank him, Isaiah wants to be that guy.
These two are so genuine, honest and truly caring, snappy and full of teasing banter, and after the clothed spanking, they slowly begin to give in to desire.
Jockstrap/Isaiah admits he’s bi, but never acted on it. It’s Einstein/Liam he wants, and their sexy times are building, and passionate emotions begin.
Terrific first times for eager Isaiah, and the most sizzling times either man has ever had. They deal with Isaiah being in the closet, until ...!
A sweet story of a scientist and a basketball player, smaller/larger, and friends to lovers, spanking and aftercare. Enjoy !
First I wanna thank you. And I know I shouldn’t need to thank you, but that should tell you where we are in this world. Thank you for a story where the MC has melanin. Where he is mahogany instead of olive. Thank you.
Now to this story right here. If this is how the rest of the stories are going to go!!!!!! I’m totally on board! This had the best of all my worlds. Tall dark and handsome athlete, and uber smart sexy nerdy boy with a little kinky side. Yes!!! Even though this was a novella type book it hit it out of the park. Oh man I enjoyed this. I loved both MC’s and their willingness to explore. I loved how they talked through issues. This was exactly what I needed. The plot was great, the writing was on point and I can’t wait to meet more MC’s and learn all about Ace and Wild.

NA is either a hit or a miss for me but I loved that Isaiah was a POC and Liam was so adorable.
I Finished this in one sitting and since I love the premise of this whole series(where all the stories are different with Ace & Wilder’s sex shop being the only connection among all the books), I’ll definitely be reading all the other stories to see what they’ve got in store.
4.5* So sweetly hot! This was a great little love story between a jock and a nerd. I do love a good opposites attract romance and Isaiah and Liam couldn't have been more opposite if they tried! I liked that they started out as friends, and when the opportunity to move things in a different direction was dropped into his lap, Isaiah took full advantage! I loved the care he took with Liam, and when things got real, how he owned up to his mistake immediately. Liam was a doll and I loved how he opened up to Isaiah. These guys were just so sweet, and it was fun being along as they navigated their new relationship, even if they didn't realize that's what it was becoming.
I loved the whole concept of the Ace's Wild series and I look forward to diving into the next one!
Novellas and short stories are always so hard for me to rate. I never feel like I have enough to form an opinion. But I really did love Liam and Isaiah so I’ll just go with that. 😃 This was a solid, sweet, hot, friends to lovers, out for you novella with a splash of kink. Delightful. 💜
Liked this one, and that's unusual in itself as I don't normally get on with these two. 4 stars.
Part of the Ace's Wild series for charity [at least for the first 90 days, then money goes to the Authors]. I will read some of them...in fact, I've already read 2, but others are written by authors I'm not that keen on so sorry, won't be buying those.
This story was perfectly fine. There was only one instance where the authors used the wrong character name and the story flowed well enough, but it didn't add a single new thing to the closeted jock/nerd or roommates with benefits tropes. I was hoping for something at least a LITTLE original, but was sadly disappointed.
A good YA novel about two room mates. One is a jock and one the brainiac. I liked Liam and Isaiah together, they had a bit of a bump to get there with Isaiah having to come out as bi, I felt for both of them here. I liked that they connected over things like the documentaries that Liam liked. Isaiah’s fear of coming out to the team and his mum were understandable. I loved how they reacted. It was an enjoyable Sunday read.
A very low-drama, high-fun story about college roommates. I'm intrigued by this series and will probably continue, as I'm living for the sex-positivity and consent and communication. I would've liked less sex more everything else, but whatever.
Absolutely perfect!! Man, I loved everything about this. I love mismatched college roommate 'jock/nerd' 'let's explore kink' stories. I loved that this had the physical, kinky elements, but most of all I loved the caring aspect of it. I neeeeeed the feels. Liam and Isaiah didn't take themselves super seriously, it wasn't all Master this or Daddy that, just a casual 'if you want to try this, I should be the one you try it with' that turned into so much more. I love that Isaiah was closeted but it didn't overwhelm the story, and his 'coming out' was well paced, believable and drama-free. I loved that Isaiah had a deeper 'nerdy', science side and Liam had a kinky side. I just loved every...I already said that.
I'd pretty much given up on RH because I DNF'd the last four books I've read by her but the author I first fell in love with is back, and this collaboration totally works!! Total redemption with this book. 4.5
A cute book but all the problems seem to be in their heads since coming out was a doozy for them! Should have read it when I was sixteen but couldn't since it wasn't published!!!
This was such a sweet and innocent take on discovering and exploring kink for the first time.
My favorite thing about Isaiah was how determined he was to make sure Liam explored his kink with someone he could trust the first time he tried it. I found it adorable how he did a ton of research and got the cream for aftercare. He was so protective and sweet and just all around a total caregiver while also going into Dominant mode when the situation called for it.
It’s been awhile since I read a book featuring a closet-case bisexual, especially in a school/college setting and while I wanted to slap some sense into Isaiah at certain moments...I understand how he was feeling and the doubt that he had that even some of the kindest people in his life (like his mom) might not react how he expects them to and won’t look at him the same after.
Overall, this was a super sweet if kind of cheesy friends-to-lovers story with a light exploration of kink that left me happy with the way things ended for the couple.
I would definitely consider giving some of the other books in this series a try as they all can be read as standalones.
First love m/m with spanking. I’m finding that I prefer the multi author series as you don’t know what you’ll get and at the same time find new authors. For this one its dual POV, Einstein (Liam) & Jockstrap (Isiah). Both of them were sweet with insecurities. There was a lot less drama than I thought there would be. The intro to the sex shop was great. I’m hoping Ace & Wilder have their own story. Short, nicely written and rounded off with an epilogue.
